Marketing was awful, but it's as if people didn't even bother looking at reviews to verify whether or not the trailers were misleading. I have a family member who does this, he'll bring over the most boring unfunny movies to family gatherings and be like "well the trailer looked funny", and then I'll look up reviews afterwards and the movie will have a bunch of 4/10 scores. Conversely, this movie had a ton of positive reception. I don't know about you, but seeing it get near universal praise was enough to convince me to see it in theaters, I'd trust that over trailers anyday

2:30 About that... yeah, in Latin America, Paramount did a stupid mistake that *might* have been a contributing factor. They decided to cast influencers as voice actors for the Latino Spanish dub. But that isn't the problem. No, the problem is that Bumblebee, B-127, got hit the worst by this, because the guy who voiced him had allegations of sexual assault against a fucking minor. That's right they fucking hired a pedophile to voice him. And Paramount's response to the controversy, rather than firing him and reddubing his parts with someone else, was... hiding tweets on their replies, say nothing, keeep him in the film, and credit him over actual voice actors that were in the film's dub.

Sentinal prime in lore is always a jerk and Megatron's lore reasons for starting the civil war is because the Primacy is weak system thats prone to coruption. This movie is an abriged version of the IDW comics where the Functionist society was there was a rift between sparks given to protoforms and cold constructed bots. Megatron's was the one in the mines to make the lower classes rebel with his poems and essays about the dangerous ideas of equality (which Cybertronian society didn't have). that the cast system shouldn't be predetermined by at Cybertrons Alt-Mod. Like if you turned into a drill, you were forced into the mines or construction. Didn't matter if you wanted to be a Doctor or a scientist, that "Primus made you a drill because Cybertronian needed another drill." and orion is usually a clerk in the Iacon Records or a cop. A place of moderate privilege. This movie is a abridged version of the long form stories from games, tv shows and especially the comics. I get that you don't like Sentinal and think its boring that hes just bad. But thats also incredibly accurate to who he is as a person in the franchise. Also he was literally the main Villain in Transfomers Dark side of the Moon. The highest grossing transfomers movie. He uses the same weapon he used in the 3rd act to kill optimum. This wasn't supposed to be a twist for the audience. Just the characters. Hes a naritive tool to devide Orion and D-16.

Oh, there is another reason why I hadn't seen this movie in the theaters. I did know about it and I wanted to see it, however there were a few factors that stopped me. 1) The theatrical version was in 3D and I hate 3D showings. Why hasn't that fad died already. 2) They only showed the dubbed version with dutch voice actors instead of english ones. Why? Even every disney movie has a dutch and english versions running. Why not Transformers? 3) The only showings were on the children time slots. And considering I don't have kids, I had to work on those timeslots. Damn, even Despicable Me and the Minion movies had at least one adult timeslot. Seriously, could they have crippled this movie release even harder. No wonder, that it bombed hard international. Paramount strapped it to a pole, surrounded with a boatload of fuel barrels, and detonated it.

If Alpha Trion didn't give D-16 a cog it would seem like it was bias and it would worsen the already unstable mentality of the said bot. It would also not help with Sentinel being a threat and even if they defeat Sentinel what's the point of not giving him a T-cog if Optimus would give him at the end. D-16 at this point would wrongly judge and hate the primes with their bias because of Alpha Trion and would turn against Optimus if given the chance and he already put his mind on the 'Strength of One Bot over Another is what is important' when encountering Starscream and the highguard Edit: Alpha probably knew that Megatron is what needed for Orion to be Optimus and be the Saviour of the Cybertron

I saw this in theaters, despite my ongoing disdain for Hasbro's crappy decisions. Hell I gave Rise of the Beasts a chance after the surprise of Bumblebee! I'd say that Hasbro's marketing, the release timing with Wild Robot, and everyones hatred for TLK ruined any goodwill for this film.

From the perspective of someone that's only cared for G1, as a Transformers movie it's a 2.5 our of 5 at best, but in a vacuum as completely it's own thing, it's a 3.5 at best. It's got a few jokes that land and some decent acting, but I don't really care for the designs or going for a "They were once friends" continuity with Megatron was once one of the oppressed. Didn't help that the trailers made it seem like a movie that a parent would just flop their little kid in front of and want to be somewhere else.

You know what's worse about Inside Out 2 making so much money is right before it came out they laid off 14% of their employees, so all those employees won't get benefits from the movies success. So scummy.

A couple months ago, I watched all the bayverse and reboot movies because I planned on it when it went free on Amazon and thought it was pretty decent, but when I went out with a couple friends to watch this movie in theaters, I fell in love with the franchise as a whole, and watched it a second time in a bigger theater because it was still showing just to see the post credits, because we didn’t know there was one. If it were a mid movie, I think we would’ve seen it online, but because it was actually really good, we all went through the trouble to watch it again in theaters. I also plan to buy it for blue ray when it comes out December and currently have an addiction buying the action figures. My first throughs about the movie had the impression is was a more kiddie movie and definitely didn’t expect it to be as amazing as it turned out, so I’m glad I went to see it.

When I first saw the TF one trailers I was excited but was slightly confused about my TF friend’s disappointed and everyone was like “oh yeah i’m not gonna see it” or “i’m so disappointed” I doubted it would be THAT bad, Because me, my sister and mom were gonna watch it (I made my top priority birthday gift was going to see TF One) when we did I was so happy and excited. So I was ready to watch possibly “pure slop”, I even stayed until the post credits scene, but left not disappointed but kept thinking about it for an hour, so it was the best birthday gift

Went with my dad and took my friend to see it. I’ve never heard him more obsessed with a movie ever. I’m happy he enjoyed it. Oh yeah and screw Paramount for doing this film dirty. What is the point of making a movie if you are not gonna market it?
