I'm about 3 months in to my beard and I've had good results using beard oil, sea salt spray and a boar bristle brush to keep it behaving well. But if it needs a bit more discipline once it's a bit longer, I'll be sure to try out these tips! Good stuff Jack, the beard is looking mighty fine :)

Thx! Im a UPS driver and we have never been allowed to have beards... But the rules just changed!!! We are finally allowed to grow them at any length! I got a 3 month head start from my coworkers since I was off on a back injury. Now when I go back to work soon I wont have to shave and I will have the longest beard!! I am 31 and this is my first beard ever so I have no clue how to maintain it...

The process makes a big differrnce. The days I have time to blow dry my beard it ends up looking amazing. I dollow the same process as you Jack: a round brush and a comb, but since my chin area tends to roll towards my neck, i also use a brush combined with the roumd brush to pull the beard out and look more natural. My method, i use no product, and set the blower on low. I spen no more than 3 minutes. I apply the utility balm at the end. Beardbrand videos have helped me develop the process that works for me.

I realized something over the past week - I was being selfish. All of these years I've yearned to be the star of your face...the conversation piece, if you will. What right do I have to take center stage? If anything, that distinction belongs to that glorious beard of yours, not to a lowly eyebrow such as myself. We are all just supporting roles on the work of art that is "Jack Milocco." Many thanks to Mahesh for teaching me some humility.

Ha I use this same hairdryer! Also little tip -- While I'd say you're best off rolling the round brush IN on your cheeks (like you did here), once you hit your jaw line, I have found that it's best to sit the brush on the underside of my jawbone and roll OUT. That ends up sorta tucking the edges underneath my underbeard -- which makes for a pretty sharp, contained look. But hey everyone's hair is different!
@Beardbrand6 жыл бұрын
That little hair dryer is usurpingly strong! But I totally agree with you on the In then Out method on the rolling. That bit can get a bit confusing though, so that's why I've found the comb to be super easy and helpful - Jack

Having worked for a hair salon and seeing the struggles of the taming of the beard and not having the right beard tools to do this...the round brush while useful isn't normally built for the beard. With that in mind and how barbers would use hair rollers in beards to shape a beard...I came up with a smaller, more versatile, brush designed with the beard in mind. It didn't cost a fortune to make and has stood up to frequent use by the hubs. I could try to make a fortune off the idea however there are alot of guys out there who need beard help badly so I think of it as giving to beard charity. Swing by a Chinese restaurant and get some chopsticks, go by dollar tree find the 6pk small self staying hair roller (plastic tube looks like its wrapped with a velcro strip), get 1 half sheet bounty paper towel, and a hot glue gun. Get glue gun hot n ready, 1/2 sheet paper towel half again width wide, use 1 quarter piece of paper tool and fold width wide, turn towel length wide, from edge of towel roll onto chopstick until width of roll can insert snugly into hair roller center, be careful not to push towel into hair roller to hard or the roller will separate from velcro covering, once you have towel in place, push chopstick end (handle) flush to top of roller end. Fill this end with hot glue and at base of roller meets handle cover in any over hang and chop stick with hot glue. Let dry and voila you have a easy to hold, versatile, small beard brush, with even consistent soft bristles, can get in and under beard hair alot easier, and use with blow dryer show better results with straightening hairs while keeping volume. Enjoy guys!
@DeeTee796 жыл бұрын
Blow dryer and boar brush is good, but the best method bar none for straightening, I've recently discovered, is an electric hair straightening brush. It will straighten out the curls, add a few cms to inches on your beard, and it doesn't dry it out like a hairdryer will.

When I had a round brush, I found that thing worked the hell out of a beard, especially a wet beard it helped maintenance of the mangle beard. Even without a hair dryer just using a round brush was amazing for it. After every shower. That's key tho. You have to make sure it doesn't snag cause then you get bald spots. I just wish I had a round brush nowadays. 😅
