Annie and I check out, discuss, and react to Intergalactic by the Beastie Boys, BUT, we do it live. I'LL DO IT LIVE! Hopefully most will get that joke.
Follow me on Instagram if you like, lots of family pics and funny stuff. We keep it pretty light.

I have the same thing. It's ok if it goes to 11. But I would feel horrible if the tv was set to 11. All low numbers are fine. 7 is problematic. 9 is worse and 11 worse still. I don't like 13 and 14. Then 17, 19, 23, 29, 31, 33, 34, 37, 39. All of those I would not use. 19 is the worst.

Yeah...I saw that clip a couple years ago for the first time, and it was straight ENERGY. Hits harder than a lot of other videos or clips because you see them playing the instruments live and they were on fire. Maybe doesn't fit with the rap theme here, but the best Beastie Boys highlight I've seen on KZbin.

That’s so cool you had her saying that when she was a little kid! I was fortunate enough to see the Beastie Boys when they were touring after releasing this album. Surprisingly it was a very small venue but they made up for that and then some! Ice chests on the stage as well as two large cages one at each end of the stage with half naked women dancing in them. I was 15 and I thought it was the coolest thing I had ever seen! Awesome freaking show!

That bit of music at the end that she reacted to is a clip from DJ Kool "Let me clear my throat" a mid 90's jam, at least that is where I know it from, but in the day sampling as off the hook so it could have come from something else.

Brass Monkey takes me back to my college days (mid 2000's). My friend and I were playing my cassette tape of "Liscensed to Ill" (which I still have). We opened up my dorm room window and blasted "Brass Monkey". Our dorm supervisor came up and scolded us, but he was also laughing about it. We went to a fairly conservative Christian college. We had to make it as fun as possible sometimes.

You kept talking about the public reaction to the Beastie boys from the mid to late 80's, but Intergalactic was released in 1998. In the UK the Hello Nasty album pushed them overground again as its sound match the 'Big beat' club movement at the time. DJ's such as Norman cook doing remix's of tracks, and playing them out their sets in the UK and Ibiza.

0:55 - THANK YOU. 33 volume is insane. I could live with 32. 34 not so much. But mouse-wheeling the volume also goes in steps of two. No one in their right mind has it set to 33!

Since Annie is 14, I want to see her react to the band Cherri Bomb. They recorded one EP and one full length album around 2011-12. They were her age when they recorded them.
