Two days late to see the video, but my delay was for good reason; our daughter got married yesterday! It’s so weird to think we now have a son-in -law. He’s a great guy, so we are all so happy. The weather here in Wisconsin was rainy and gloomy for two days. Literally as the kissed and pronounced to be married, the sun broke through the clouds and shined on them for a breathtaking moment. Just wanted to share a special moment with you. The bathroom is looking lovely! And the chutney sounds divine! Love and hugs!

I loved Stuart’s laughter when Patrick said, “who are we kidding”. But understandably having warm rooms to “sit and read a book” or entertain friends in comfort, is so much better than wearing a jacket, huddled under a blanket in a cold, damp chateau! Oh my goodness I wished the television could send us the aroma of that chutney. Patrick, you must have paid really good attention when your grandfather showed you how to hang wallpaper because you did a fine job. I love the wallpaper choice, along with all of your selections for that bathroom. You should both be very proud of everything you’ve accomplished since you purchased the chateau. I love the mix of renovation and the cooking. I love the idea that one of the viewers suggested of a Chateau de Columbe cookbook. You could make it a chateau seasonal cookbook and just put them in, in the order you made them, as that will have followed the seasonal bounty. I can’t imagine you have a guest that doesn’t buy one, and for those too far away to sample the goods, they could order them. I admire so much that you make the effort to reply to as many comments as you can. I understand the desire to show your gratitude for your viewers and it does make it so personal, but there will come a point that it becomes too much and you’ll undoubtedly have to be selective. I really love seeing you cooking in your kitchen and using the beautiful copper pots. I’m glad to see you’re using some smaller jars, which makes the produce go further. I chuckle to myself every time I see jars in the shops here, and think of you and your quest to find enough! Well done! Was it hard to match the pattern when hanging the wallpaper? Good morning Patrick & Stuart, as always, a most pleasant video. It is so nice to share with you, ups and downs, good and challenging times, it is all part of life. From what we saw, just a glimpse of the bathroom it looks delightful, smart and special. You are placing your style in that chateau as far as you are working, hence it is so 'special'. Nothing better in a large room than a wood burning fire, especially in your own abode. You are working hard to get the chateau as comfortable as you can, so why not sit and enjoy and live a wonderful life, that is the complete idea of the renovations. For sure, you need a bit of robust chutney to compliment certain foods, especially chicken and pork which can be quite bland at times, no matter how much dedication you put into making the meat taste the best you can. In certain areas in England, those farmers serve you a cut of pork with home made mustard that will bring a tear to a glass eye. It feels like you are sweating to death at the table and you almost are. Sometimes you eat spicy food and if you feel you need to give a little cough then you know, the curry or chutney is just right. Just enough to give a little hot burn :) Hopefully you can have a little break during the weekend, go and visit or go to a brocante, it will be lovely to share the new bathroom look, cannot wait. Hi Elise. The bathroom is coming along and is almost finished. We hope that the crafts,an can install at least 2 fireplaces. Even our French organiser friend. Told us, that anything artisan is very difficult right now. We love spicy foods but it can be too hot. 😂😂😂. The chutney has mellowed and is lovely. We are blessed to have you and your comments. Yeah! Not sure if you took my advice on the chili fig jam but I know it will be a great success! Super presents for friends at Christmas plus a tasty treat for any curry!!!! Stunning just dumped on a brick of cream cheese with crackers or just slathered on a warm scone! Now, try the orange fig jam and it will mellow out the spice left in your mouth from the chili fig chutney! Bathroom looks amazing! Very well done! Have a brilliant weekend! If you still have figs left after your Fig & Apple chutney, you could try Burnt fig jam which I love. Look up Maggie Beer and her recipes online. Maggie is a famous cook here in Australia. Seems like learning to wallpaper is like learning to ride a bike, something you never forget. Great job, the wallpaper looks lovely. The design looks as though it would make a lovely embroidery pattern to make cushions for the bed. You could pick out the main colour of the wallpaper and add extra soft colours that make it your own. ❤

Just love that wallpaper!! Good job putting that up! My parents bought an old farm house. I would watch my mom and her sister put wallpaper up. So my husband and I tried wallpapering together, let’s just say we found out we couldn’t wallpaper together!! Lol!! He was used to working outside not inside!! Lol!! My daughter loves spicy things. Yummy!! That sure looks good!! You both like to cook and that’s good!! My husband didn’t like to cook. But he did make spaghetti and I do say he made better spaghetti than I did! Hee hee!!! I m going to try your hot and spicy fig chutney for Thanksgiving. I have a grandson that loves hot and spicy anything.. the hotter the better. I'm fixing a traditional turkey but I also make leg of lamb for myself and my sister with Cross and Blackwells mint sauce on the side. Your Chutneys sound wonderful.

Oh, Patrick,this is a very difficult wallpaper to glue on the walls. And it is a beautiful wallpaper with lovely flowers. This makes it also difficult. So you've made it very hard for yourself. Last vlog you told its been 30 years ago you did this for the last time but you did an awesome job with the paper. Stuart assemble furniture is not the most exciting job, it just takes a lot of time.
