👍🏼 I liked the arms up victory signal after the running hog was finished off! Another enjoyable video. Thanks, Brian.

I was just so happy it stopped before it made it to the creek. It would have been a messy retrieval.

I know not to expect $2000 scanner results but in your opinion, could you comfortably use the K2 to see a heat sig moving at 600 yards the use your scope to confirm? I'm mostly referring to coyote hunting.
@CarpeSus7 ай бұрын
In a well grazed field or elevated position, it would work okay, but in a field where the grass is up, it will be difficult.

So is the Ret ( Resolution enhanced Technology) work on the S2 & S3 can you tell the difference when you turn it on or off
@CarpeSus11 ай бұрын
That is a very good question. I had not worked with that feature and trying it inside my home, am not seeing a difference, though I am not sure I would inside my home. I will see what I can come up with on my next outing.

Do you have the s3 zoomed in at all in the video?
@CarpeSus11 ай бұрын
Varies. Native mag is 3.5x. You will see 3.5x, 7.0x, or 14x on the bottom data line. That will tell you when I am zoomed or on native mag.

Not impressed with the Rix Storm on the water, Was it out of focus??
@CarpeSus11 ай бұрын
Maybe. By that I mean I focused it and the beaver was on the move. The beaver may have moved out of proper focal range, but I think the issue is more with the firmware settings that are on the intense side, visually, which helps hot targets 'pop' visually in most environments, but creates a harsher image in others, such as this, hence the blending of the beaver with the wake. I will bring this gun along on the next beaver hunt and see what I can do.

I am completely against it. The owner get a copy of the video, so will be informed. My goal is to keep such ancillary damage to a minimum.

@@CarpeSus What did that tree ever do to you??? 🤣
@CarpeSus11 ай бұрын
@@ronsamborski6230 While I understand that the tree could make the claim for being legally planted and growing where it is, the fact remains that it was aiding and abetting the hogs by shielding them, plain and simple. The reality is that I played that shot backwards, resulting in not having enough room to compensate for the speed of the hog and resulting in the tree getting shot. I didn't want to go into the messy details because of KZbin, but I used direct pressure, a tourniquet, and not satisfied with those efforts, applied a sucking chest wound dressing. Let's face it. The tree was not a cooperative patient and so I tried everything to save it. I am happy to report that the tree is doing well and is accepting visitors.
