You have a very large amount of water to drain from the area. The forest will love you for letting their roots breath. The beaver, probably not so much. Must have been a very large area being flooded.

It is great that people are seeking you out to help with their beaver dam issues. I think putting a pipe is a good idea but alas not a permanent solution. Only taking out the whole dam all the way down to its foundation will cause the beaver to go somewhere else. And yes I know that would take an excavator. You have helped the farmers in your area enormously. Your good deeds will last you for years!

That flat farm field is ONLY there because it was created by beavers. Leave the dam and 30 years from now the farmers fields could be enlarged by the total area of the pond. All beaver dams silt up and infill the river bed to make more flat fields. During their time of pond and water they support birds and fish to hunt.

Has his PVC pipe method had success there. I only ask because I've seen several creators talk about how it is a massive fail here in the United States. I do know that at one time it was tried by the DOT which stands for the department of transportation. And it was a fail that the beaver stopped the pipes up. So I'm interested to see the outcome of this and how well it works there. I am excited to see if it works there !

@@Dusk1962 in all actuality the beavers usually clog the mesh with mud. As they did with his as well. And for your information I was really hoping this method work for him. If the Beavers are doing this for their home and flooding the forest, they would know by now too much water is not good for the trees, in that case, why wouldn't they destroy the older dams and give trees a break and build a new dam somewhere else. From an evolutionary point of view, wouldn't having a healthy forest aids their survival? In other words, where do we come in? when we destroy beaver dams, how does it affect their survival? Thanks

@Kenislovas I won't argue, but Gardens are not natural parts of the ecosystem. Flooding is part of the life of a natural forest and they cope fine. If it is an artificial forest, then they need to plant further away. This will also reduce the amount of siltation reaching the water course.
