BANANA LEAF COOKING! THE BEST... ESPECIALLY WHEN MASTER CHEF JANDEE REVEALS HIS RECIPE FOR US!
This is some beach house banana leaf cooking with fish! We scored a giant tuna belly at the Baganga market, and Jandee went to work on it for lunch! We actually ate this stuffed tuna belly recipe a few months back, but I never put it on video. In this video... it is all about simple banana leaf cooking.
Around the Philippines, it is quite common to see foods wrapped or cooked with banana leaf. This wonderful technique adds flavor, and certainly style to whatever is being made! In this case... GIANT STUFFED TUNA BELLY!!!

Banana leaves is heated to give it some elastic strength, has Jandee said, to keep it from falling apart. The banana giving the food the flavor is just a bonus. Back in the old days the Filipino farmers used banana leaves as a containers to bundle/wrapped their lunch. Hence, the word "boodle fight", was not originated as a Filipino military terms; but adapted tradition as a tradition way of sharing your meals with others. This is because it originated from farmers sharing meals with other workers. They unwrapped and combine what they have brought for lunch to make a one big meal to share with fellow kababayan who might not have brought meals with them.

You should plant some rambutan in your property. Save the seeds when you eat some. It’s nice to have them especially if they are in season. The rambutan is so expensive here in the US. Enjoy the fresh fruits in the Philippines. My favorite fruits from there are rambutan, lansones, mangosteen, mango and kaimito or star apple. Stay safe and healthy
