Definitely Maurice is the main character here, such a clown, at the beginning what a big scare he makes Robin goes through but he just smiles and moves on, confirms one more time the bond and fraternity between they both, and I really LOVE when Rob introduces the medley and says 'my twin brother', that IS extremely lovely from a grown man.
@susieq98012 жыл бұрын
At the end of the concert Mo referred to Rob as his twin too. A real bond. Even when he was dying he said I wish Mo was here.

Love how Rob didn't miss a note when Mo grabbed his arm and jolted him. Yup, Mo was the technical guy and the cameraman when they were kids.

Yeah that was a great moment. Also when he had the camera so close and Robin kind of smiled but just kept singing. I guess you get used to sibling shenanigans when they’ve been happening all your life 🤣

Mo was always the gadget guy and said Barry and Rob's devices were always flashing 12:00am. Thank god he was because we have all those home movies of them as kids. Treasures! I prefer "Too much heaven" in their natural voices. Nice chance to hear Mo singing "Islands in the Stream". Rob also did a version on their greatest hits. I noticed @11:18 when they sang "We rely on each other", Rob and Barry exchanged glances and smiled. Mo said it later became painful for Barry to do the falsetto because of his back when he did lift up his body to reach the high notes. As I often said, Rob looks like he's waiting for a bus and then he begins to sing. 💖💖 Wonderful example of real talent, a guitar, 3 brothers and thousands listening in rapture. Who can achieve that now? Name just one! You can't
@juanita64792 жыл бұрын
Only these three brothers can achieve that perfection, nobody else. Real talent!!!!
@Zlata13132 жыл бұрын
Almost right Q! Mo said "it's not like their video recorders are flashing 12"😁 yup, hands in pockets or thumbs in belt loops of jeans like he's just hanging around, then he belts out that beautiful voice!❤

I love this medley so much! It's amazing what three brothers standing around a mic with only a guitar to accompany them can do! They're always so amazing no matter what! What I always look forward to the most in this medley is seeing Mo grab the camera and what he does with it, the transition from “Heartbreaker” to “Islands in the Stream” because those are the only songs in the whole medley that are played without stopping in between and I think the transition sounds so perfect and seamless (the same music switches tunes without stopping in between), and hearing Mo come in with Barry in “Islands in the Stream” for all the same reasons you said. I don't actually like their recorded version of “Islands in the Stream”. I mean, Robin sounds amazing because it doesn’t matter what he's singing, his voice is just that amazing. I just don't like the way they did that version and I don't understand the “ghetto superstar” chorus at the end and think it's just weird. But, I love their live version of it. I've been able to find all the songs from their 1989 Melbourne concert in separate videos on KZbin and Apple Music. I wish it was the whole concert with everything in between the songs, but I'll take what I can get from it. It seems like an amazing concert. They sounded amazing and were so energetic throughout the whole concert. I watched it a couple times on KZbin awhile back, but I recently found it on Apple Music and got super into it and have watched the album of it a few times. I'd love to own the DVD of it. I love Mo in the outfit he's wearing in the concert as well! I'm so glad he stuck with that general look throughout most of the rest of his life because I think that's his best look and that it suits him so well!

@@karis_H.2000 Sidenote the ghetto superstar bit of the later version is because the song Ghetto Superstar by Pras sampled Islands in the Stream so in a way it was a wink and nod to that. I think Robin especially appreciated that a song of theirs was in a 90s hip hop song and wanted to give a shout out, kind of an artist recognizing artists thing.

@juanita64792 жыл бұрын
That complete concert was available before, but someday just vanished from YT 🙁 About Barry's rendition of 'Words' many people prefer those of the concerts, I think the very best is when they were young, his voice sounds so smooth, the version on the Ed Sullivan Show sounds extraordinary because of the accompaniment of the violins, but I like the debut on TV better. Just my opinion 😊
@rbaruah87902 жыл бұрын
@@juanita6479 I like almost all his renditions of the song but I like this particular version because of his interaction with the audience......vocally along with the Ed Sullivan show I also like the Smothers Brothers show.....that was also a beautiful rendition......

OK I need to ask you if you have ever seen the midnight special from 1975. That is my favorite medley. If you watch it watch what Moe does with Robin when it’s 3:38 minutes in. I think I told you about it once before but I’m not sure if you’ve reacted to this or not. By the way I loved the medley that you just reacted to as well. Ps. It’s the video that’s 9:17 long.
