At last someone who knows what they talking about in regards to Wing Chun and Bruce Lee amongst a sea of crap written by people who don't know their elbow from their arse commenting and believing that the peak of a Martial Art and a fighter is the watered down version that they see in a ring or cage where it's become a sport. Originally developed to defeat maim even to kill. The people who were taught and learnt Wing Chun from GM Yip Man especially in the early days tested their skills on the streets of Hong Kong including Bruce Lee even though he spent spent less than 18 months not the full system and only part time he was going to school ,he was a natural with drive and would have been 1st class at anything he wanted.He put Wing Chun on the map in the west which has become a double edge sword for it. Jeet keen Do has a large basis from WC there has been nobody of note developed by it unlike WC where people have trained full time 7 days 12 to 15 hours for a number of years to learn and develop have never taken part in a published fight.

@@briandunne2153 states '''at least someone who knows what they're talking about'' and then proceeds to prove a complete lack of realistic and critical insight topped with delusional myths. If you don't understand that MMA is not a watered down anything but a convergence of realistic styles and techniques, forming the strongest fighting base in martial arts to date, and if you think wing chun was developed un ''maim and kill'' and think Yip man was all that and his students were dangerous Hong Kong street fighters, you're living in a fantasy world and absolutely do not know 'what you're talking about'.

Imagine a wasp is buzzing around you. You can exercise caution, with respect of the wasps ability to sting you. Now imagine on the next day, you ask yourself, what is that stinging pain I feel on my neck. As you look around, you see a huge horsefly flying off. You're only aware of this painful interaction, after it is over. You're a victim. Now imagine that there are 50 huge horseflies hovering towards you. You strangely and suddenly find yourself wishing there was just a Wasp. The wasp can sting.. true. But the horsefly is out for blood. Be a horsefly my friend.

@HardHardMaster

@@niamcd6604Complete nonsense. Mixed martial arts are thousands of years old and modern day MMA as in UFC was kicked off by the Gracies to promote their BJJ style. @@HardHardMaster They were doing full contact martials in Chicago in the 60s. John Keehan had tournaments which pitted different martial art styles against each other. So, even in the United States full contact martial arts were being practiced before UFC. There was more than one style that combined grappling with stand up fighting. Gen Lee Ju Jitsu, in the early 60s in New Jersey, combined Karate, Ju Jitsu, Boxing, and Savate. Yes, you are correct about Mixed Martial arts being practiced thousands of years ago because Chinese monks practiced numerous styles to be well rounded fighters. Some people say that Bruce Lee took from their concept with his art.

Here is a pro fighter who knew Bruce Lee and even addressed him as Mr. Lee. Why the disrespect by Michael Jai White saying he could beat him? When here you have a professional fighter who knew Bruce Lee. Mr. Joe Lewis would and could beat down Michael Jai White yet he's very respectful of Bruce Lee. True winners don't need to hype themselves up like Michael Jai White!!!

Michael Jai White could beat prime Joe Lewis's *ss all over the place. You fanboys are so desperate to grab any straw that might even remotely confirm your delusions about Lee. Lewis later changed his opinions on Lee abilities completely btw. This is cherrypicking old statements.

If he is still alive and well, much of its narrative might not be the same due to aging. Bruce died at a young prime age. That's at his best form, making the memories of him in moments frozen in a time capsule of his best. Making it legendary then after.

Died at age 32, 27 November 1942 20th July 1973. He died at his co-star's house in Hong Kong. Her name was Betty from a brain edema. He had a headache, took aspirins and passed away. Unbelievable. Just freaking unbelievable. I guess God wanted him rest in peace . Thy Master!! You are so missed by all your fans and Friends family. You and Brandon so sad. Brandon had to die on the side of the crow 1993.. The crow I have that movie. A great flick! Brandon did an awesome job acting..

So many put Bruce down for not fighting in sanctioned events. Well, they were just starting to formalize combat sports beyond wrestling and boxing but more to point ; Joe Lewis talks about Bruce’s philosophy regarding fighting, the fighting that they say Bruce has no experience in.

I also once fought Bruce Lee. I hit him he fell down. He hit me back I fell down. He kicked me I fell down. I kicked him back he fell down. Over and over again until I realised it started raining and my body's wet and then I heard and vaguely saw my mom said while carrying a bucket of water "wake up it's six thirty! you might be late to school."

Jim Kelly was saying in an interview, and he said he knows a lot of martial artists sparred with Bruce Lee and lost. Jim Kelly didn't and won't mention any names out due to respect. I think Joe Lewis and Chuck Norris are 2 of many who sparred with Bruce Lee. Jim Kelly even said Bruce was untouchable due to his speed and smarts.

It's 100% bullshit. There is no evidence that Bruce EVER had real full contact fight against proper, serious fighter. True is that Bruce has no ability to do it. He was small, not very strong and easy to knock out by real fighters. That's why despite the fact that he could enter any competition to prove his skill never had a fight. He was also seriously addicted to drugs, always high on cocaine and LSD. There is much more bullshit and false legend around him that real fighter.
@JosephDiveley

@@snd7622 Well we could listen to your lies or we could listen to the testimony of all the great fighters who trained under him who were world champions like Ali, Chuck Norris, Bob Wall, Joe Lewis, and the list goes on and on and on. There is a reason all the best sports fighters went to him to learn how to be better. Bruce Lee never did drugs. Bruce was a maniac about what he ate and would never consume food that was bad for him because he didn't want his training to be corrupted. If you are going to lie about someone at least try ones that are even remotely believable.

@@JosephDiveley Words of ACTORS only prove that Bruce was rubbish. I could beat him easy. He was always on cocaine and LSD, bodyweight 65 kg ( my dog is bigger). You should check Bruce's gym card online, he was weak like average 16 yo boy. And most of all : HE NEVER FOUGHT FOR REAL. Fight score - zero. There is nothing like lies or true here just proven facts : Bruce never proved that he could fight for real. And by looking at his weakness and tiny body weight hudreds people in his era could kill him in 30 seconds in the ring. And he knew it that's why all he did was naive choreography on films and talking bullshit.
