You deserve more recognition for this, its actually played with passion and played how it was pretty much written rather than most other renditions 👏 Having tuition from you would be a day to remember for sure!

Hello Professor Swansbourne from New York...love your channel...What is the best way to achieve speed with this piece? Thanks, Nick
@pianoinsights60924 жыл бұрын
Thanks. Have you looked at my tutorial on this piece? In general though, start slow, gradually increase tempo until comfortable and secure and hesitation-free, then increase it again.

What tempo are you playing in? i love the calm but also fast version. Im trying to find the right tempo for me and i love this tempo because You Can really hear all the notes

Great performance. do you use the soft pedal for the first scale ?
@pianoinsights60924 жыл бұрын
Usually no, but it depends on the piano. If a piano is too bright and loud, it may be necessary. Soft pedal is mainly for changing the color to more muted and velvety, but sometimes we need it to shave off excess brightness and clangyness.

On my piano, which is on the bright side, but has a beautifully calibrated soft pedal, I press it half way down only, which is also an option on many pianos. Some soft pedals mute too much, some don't make any difference at all, so you have to know how much and when to use it on every individual piano.
