This is a wonderful series! Daniel Barenboim is one of the greatest musical geniuses of the 20th century, and I loved seeing him as a young man in the 1960s and onward in Allegro Films documentaries featuring him, Vladimir Ashkenazy, Pinchas Zukerman, Jacqueline Du Pre, and Itzhak Perlman….wonderful! My very favorite is all about Schubert’s “Trout” quintet, as well as the ones about Ashkenazy, his wife, and their young children, but the amazing musical moments Christopher Nupen has gifted to us are pure gold! God bless his soul!
