Not gunna lie, but this is actually the most authentic looking sequel I've seen for a movie in a very long time. Like, everything feels right, the humor, the tone, the colors, the VFX. It feels like a true sequel and not a "updated for the times" money grab sequel. And by updated for the times I mean "making it more realistic/or darker/or grittier, etc". Well done. Let's hope the movie itself feels that way and not just trailer magic.

I was so obsessed with Beetlejuice in my youth (both the movie and the cartoon), and yet even I would never have expected to get a sequel in which BJ is actually obsessing over Lydia (like he did in the cartoon, I mean, he had an actual shrine to her in his head!), and actively trying to court her. Just look at that printed ad of him, lying on the bed, with the headline „Looking for a love connection?“ 😳 This is no longer a ghost trying to get out of his afterlife confinement, he‘s really … fallen for her? In his own weird way? I think my teenage fanfiction matrix glitched over into RL.

SAME!!! I kind of shipped them in the end, ESPECIALLY when he gave the fiance the truth serum. He was a REAL one for that, considering he didn't even need to because he was under the impression that she was under enforced contract at that point. He pretty much "saved" her in his own weird way.

I mean, if Burton wanted to make a joke like "look, he's wooing her, getting all fake romantic, haha", he could have done so much quicker.
