I must say, it's rather dismaying to see so many people in the comments getting pissy about them asking for donations. Y'all come here to watch the videos, and either be entertained or learn something, like the videos and leave comments, but then when they ask you to show a tiny bit of tangible support, people get up on their high horses and preach about the sin of crowdfunding and how by asking for a little help, TFL is "trying to suck every penny from us." Come on people. Grow up and get over yourselves. I'm one of their Patrons, and I give them an amount several times their highest tier. Why? Because I enjoy the content they produce, I believe in the people who produce it, and I believe that people who have something worth creating deserve the chance and the ability to create it. It takes money to make things happen. The hell's so bad about giving them some so they can keep making good content, which, after all, is why we're all here in the first place?

MultiPurposeReviewer to advocate for those who are complaining, there are ads at the beginning of the video. There are ads throughout the video. There are product promoting portions for sponsors like dollar shave club unboxing. Where does it end? We are constantly inundated with ads. I can't imagine what running a 3 person team KZbin channel costs where I would guess all 3 are pulling their primary income from, but there's a lot of ads in the viewers face and its apparently not enough.
@MultiPurposeReviewer6 жыл бұрын
Yes, we are inundated with ads. And how many of us actually watch the whole ad, or click on the popup link? Probably close to zero. Did you know that they only get the money if a viewer watches the whole ad or clicks the link? Given how few people do that (except when it's impossible), is it any surprise that they need Patrons?

I used to send donations to 1320 video years ago when they had it because they were so new that there wasn't a lot of money in it yet. I liked it so I had no problem kicking some money their way. For the shows you like on KZbin you should also be letting the commercials run. They don't take long and from what I understand help bring money their way.

If you get 10 miles per gallon, you have something wrong with your truck. I have owned my 2007 Hummer H2 for 10 years and once a year I drive it from my home in Las Vegas to the Atlantic Ocean and back. Often I take I-10 in the south, but now and then I take I-40 in the north. On I-10, I AVERAGE 19.1 miles per gallon, driving at 70 mph, which is the SWEET SPOT on my truck. I have tested it an on the freeway, 70 mph seems to be that speed in which inertia is overcome, the truck is no longer dragging 6500 pounds around, but just maintaining the speed. I use the cruise control at 70 mph to get 19.1 mpg. BELOW is a video of my wife and I driving from Phoenix, AZ to the Chiricahua Apache Rez just outside of Globe, AZ. I was getting 17.3 mph AVERAGE, of course going up hills causes the mileage to dip, just like any other truck. Around town I virtually always get 16 mpg, on a bad day, lots of starting and stopping I can get as low as 14.9 mpg. My truck is maintained on a regular schedule. I have the transmission fluid flushed every two years, just to make sure I keep the tranny cool, always runs about 100 degrees, uphill 150 degrees. So, I don't know where or why Hummer H2 owners are getting 10 mpg and LESS from what I hear and why MY TRUCK does better than I ever expected and I drive it A LOT. kzbin.info/www/bejne/sKCvcn-bqKeiopY --- kzbin.info/www/bejne/gGe5n5-YlJx5f5I --- kzbin.info/www/bejne/i37IZ62YjNpoobM --- dizeman.myportfolio.com/ ------------------- This Hummer H2 is my 54th car and has probably cost me less to own than most of those vehicles. The only issues I have had are the electric window regulators... I have replaced TWO, driver front and pass rear. Changing out the window regulator has to be easier on a Hummer than any vehicle on the market, a 15 minute job, no cursing or throwing wrenches. I do not possess a FANatic Gene, I don't own Hummer T-shirts and it is NOT MY BABY, just a truck, but it has been good to me, never left me alongside the road and has always started when I turn the key. I do go off road and I take it easy, even when climbing the side of a mountain and it always brings me home. Is the tie rod weak? YEP! But so far, I have not broken one... my truck is entirely stock, except for extra roof racks and kevlar tires. I have NEVER, NEVER ONCE in 10 YEARS, EVER SEEN A 10 mpg reading on my fuel computer. NOT ONCE! Hell, I have never seen 11.9 as shown in the video. I will say, when I had the 90,000 mile turn up, where they do a complete tune up and belt change etc. The day before the tune up, 19 mpg on the freeway. 16 mpg in and around Vegas. The day AFTER the 90k tune up, my highest mileage is 16.9 on the freeway and 12.5 in the city. I don't know what they did during that tuneup, but I wish they had not done it. The truck was running GREAT, before the tuneup and now, it still runs good for a 6500 pound truck, but not as good as it did before the tuneup. (Dealer tuneup.) My two cents worth, I know someone can't wait to throw change back at me.

Should get a 2008 or newer H3 with off-road package to review. These are really great off-roaders ! I think later years had 4.56 gear versus 4.10. Front/rear lockers and 4:1 low range transfer case and of course Alpha had V8 5.3L. 300hp/320torque. Only down side to H3 are window design, more form over function for visibility.

Personally, I would never own an H2. All the negative stereotypes ring true. I also think the H2 doesn’t make a good overland vehicle. It’s too big, too heavy, and too thirsty for any serious,lengthy off road adventures. However, I also believe it could be a pretty good light off road vehicle for the occasional day or weekend trip. Let’s see how far you guys can go with it, enjoy it for awhile and then just sell it to help finance your next project vehicle. While in the subject of project vehicles. Please, please, please do one or maybe two projects at a time and complete them. I think your viewers and readers would appreciate seeing a completed project for a change. I really enjoy your videos and your website. I just became a Patreon supporter. Keep up the good work!

maybe some of the local viewers could help out by donating trail maintenance after mud season is done...overuse can lead to trail erosion that can only be fixed with heavy equipment. but for now shovels, picks, wheelbarrows can be used by a dozen people and have that area back to where it was a few years ago...digging culverts to divert water is important
@trailrunnah88866 жыл бұрын
Looks good with the new rubber! Those wheels though, not so much. I know you guys got stuck with them as that's how it was when you bought it, but it's a shame it didn't come with the stockers as well. I was disappointed that you didn't get back to the hill on the same day, obviously it was a lot snowier on the first try, with the AT's. I was curious as to who the MT's would perform in those conditions, I had a little bet going with myself that they'd be no better, if not a little WORSE, as MT's tend to have worse traction on packed snow and ice. Anyway, great video either way, and I look forward to seeing more videos on this truck as the overland project continues.

Just bought some new KO2's for my 06 H2 and they look absolutely amazing compared to the stock KO's. Just a beefy looking tire with tread blocks on the sidewall. Ride is much softer now too. Who woulda known tires could make such a difference??
@janpur14176 жыл бұрын
The oil type air filters are basically good for no vehicle. Those have wider pore size so more air will flow with dirt. A freshly applied oil can reduce the pore size but after few minutes the oil will sucked into the engine and bringing back bigger pores to suck dirt into the engine. I have 3 Toyota vehicles (4R, Cruiser and a car) and all uses OEM filters. Even after 16K miles, the intake air hose and the air box after the filter is literally dust fee. About the BFG tires. Their A/T tires are good until the threads are covered in mud. The New ones you put on got bigger drain channels and mostly those will stay clear to dissipate water or mud to gain traction. I am no expert in tires but just by looking at the threads I can feel how good the thread will perform in wet and mud conditions.

The mirrors on the Hummer should be powerfolding!!! Don’t pull them in you’ll strip the gears, just go to the mirror control, make sure the mirror selector is in the middle, press down on the square in the middle to adjust the mirror, and push to the right, and to unfold them press the middle down again and push to the left. If you can’t fold them in with that, than the button is on the dash near the headlight control.
