Awesome video! What would you suggest to buy new if you wanted to eliminate slack in your k20a2 type s shift selector?

try to make a quick and short version of this video. whats the total cost of diy?
@jsrebuilds39513 жыл бұрын
Thank you for the suggestion, I'm pretty new at video making and any help is appreciated. Cost was about $140 before taxes but that does not include & finding someone who can weld the select lever or machine the existing shaft on it. You can use the parts number listed in the description to get pricing since it varys at different vendors. I just try and find the cheaper prices online or locally if you need it right away.

awesome video, im definetly going this route. one question tho, do u kno if this will work on the 06-11 k20z3 si shift selector?
@jsrebuilds39512 жыл бұрын
I have not tried a k20z3 is shift selector but I believe its probably very similar in parts. You may want to use a Honda oem parts website to cross reference your parts.

Nice video. At about 10:15 are you removing the pin that rotates when you pull the shifter in the car left and right or is it the part with the counter weight on it? In my '05 Element, I feel some grittyness when I move the shifter left to right but it's smooth forward and back. I'm thinking I might have some corrosion in there.
@jsrebuilds39513 жыл бұрын
Thank you for the comment. No this is the pin that keeps the shift level in its spot which probably would not affect your shifting feel. Your issue maybe the black rubber dust cover on the outside of the whole shift selector may need some cleaning and honda urea grease added. But it does hurt to check the pin and see if it needs cleaning and grease but I don't think it would corrosion in there.

Will this work with all EP3 parts? And what cables and transmission cable bracket are you using?
@jsrebuilds395111 ай бұрын
I don't know which EP3 parts you are talking about. I have not done any research for EP3 parts. kzbin.info/www/bejne/d2GsoKSlhNV5hdk The cables I used was the k-tuned race cables that come with it's own bracket.

You going through all that and not get new seals? They are not that expensive. You should always replace the seal once you get it out.

@jsrebuilds3951 Жыл бұрын
@@rodrigovalenzuela8136 I didn't get mad or insecure over your comment. Your comment sounded like you were saying the 8th get is direct bolt on and why do you need a 9th gen? First, I don't have experience with the 8th gen transmission. Second, I happened to get my hands on a 9th gen and it bolted right up to the K24A2 motor. I had to change the shift selector with either a RSX or TSX because those are the 2 shifter boxes that work with the DC2 chassis. Other shifter boxes may work but will probably require modification. This was my first k swap and there wasn't much videos or info on my specific setup so I started this channel to help other people who maybe doing the same setup or similar. If you read most of my comments, you can see I always try to help other people.

So the modification to the shift selector is only for reverse lockout? If we dont want reverse lockout can we just install it as is?
@jsrebuilds3951 Жыл бұрын
Yes you can but I much prefer the lockout because not only is it for the lockout but it acts as a wall which makes shifting into 5th and 6th gear so much better in my opinion.
