Thank you so much for this video!! I just turned 43 yesterday & decided I need a career change. I never even really considered coding, because I always thought it was over my head, but now that I am really considering it after completing a free, mini Boot Camp course, that imposter syndrome is REAL. (coding is for the youngsters, this will be way over your head, you’re not smart enough, they’re gonna see that you don’t know jack, you’re going to make a fool of yourself, etc. etc. etc.). That pep talk that you gave basically saying to ignore the naysayers & negative energy & know your why & keep going no matter what really hit home & encouraged me to give it a shot! Thanks again for your time & positive message! ❤

First of all, happy birthday!!! Second, you got this!!! Literally all the things you listed almost everyone getting into this says to themselves (or close to it). I don’t know the answer to imposter syndrome because I and others who have been in this industry a long time still have it all the time. Don’t be your own reason for not starting. Honestly, it won’t be easy and you’ll have tough times but if you can remember why and tell yourself just because you didn’t get something today doesn’t mean you won’t get it tomorrow or the next day, you’ll be ok. Blessings on your journey!! 💕you got this.

This video is right on time. I literally was expressing my why today to someone. Just like you, the love of tech and my children is motivation.

I love all the advice you had to give. I just started a bootcamp two months ago, and we are in JavaScript and it has been a struggle. I think you’re right, finding a why or purpose to remind you when you’re feeling defeated or discouraged would be helpful! 🥰 Thank you 😊

Thankyou for this video Jess. I've always had a interest in coding when I was a young teenager and used to do it as a hobbie. Now I'm 34 and finally teaching myself to code properly. It's difficult self teaching, what motivated me is creating a cute desk working area. And also, thinking for the future! Wanting a better life for my family and setting a good example for my son!

Currently in a coding course at a local nonprofit tech program and I came into this journey to explore a career change. I’m definitely not locked in to coding. There are so many opportunities in tech and I’m grateful.

Thank you so much for this great video. I agree to every single point you have mentioned, I m currently working in a automation field right now working with field techs and network engineers, and its true that the tech industry needs more women. I truly enjoy finding solution and analyzing data's etc. I am planning to return to school and do IT related courses. Thank you for the inspiration.

There is some situation when a love grows from a hate. Do not laugh. You can start coding from a hating doing that. And it is NOT so rare situation, so please consider the case too.

This video was motivating because I’m going through this now learning Python as an IT student and I’m an online student. Thank you for this because I certainly felt a whole lot of anxious 😥 and 😬 doubtful. Are there any start up jobs you recommend after graduation?
