Learn the 3 most important actions to make in your body to do a beautiful chaturanga or low plank. This is a chaturanga tutorial for beginners. I will show you how to position your shoulders and shoulder blades skillfully, to fast track building the strength you need for this challenging pose.
Hack 1
PUNCH the floor in plank, lifting the chest and drawing the shoulder blades away from the midline.
Hack 2
PLUG the shoulder blades down the back as you lower into low plank or chaturanga.
Hack 3
ROTATE the shoulder joints so the elbow creases draw forwards and elbows hug the side body.
Chaturanga, when done correctly builds the foundational strength and stability in the shoulders needed to go after more challenging arm balances, so is really important to learn to do well, early on in your practice.
