@@adcchin7314 At this point I don't really meditate no more because I don't see a reason too but seven months ago when I still did it was great. I don't really feel too much internal tension or things like that, and things are way easier to understand. Love this series! I put off starting meditation for ages because I had no idea how to start and it seemed so daunting. There are so many videos about it and sometimes they were too confusing to understand. Your videos are the first ones that explained meditation in such a good way that’s easy to understand and it made me feel so much less daunted about starting. Thank you so much!

Thank you for this beginners series Sadia. I have tried meditation in the past and found it very difficult to focus and calm internal and external distractions. After your 1st video I gave it try without any expectations. I found the best time of day, seated position, placement of attention. I focused on the ticking of my clock and eventually visualized myself from a bird's-eye-view walking a path. I drifted on this path for what seemed like a minute and was suddenly interrupted by the sound of traffic, the loud ticking of the clock, snapping back into reality so to speak. I couldn't get back on track. For that minute I felt an immense calm. I could not feel "the weight of myself". I can only describe it as a sense of lightness...as if I were as light as a feather. It was rather amazing and couldn't believe I achieved that level of consciousness....I will try these next steps and see how I do.

I am a yoga instructor and it is very important to find a comfortable position. Most of the time, in seated meditation there are props used to help with seated posture. Or you can use variations of shavasana pose (lying pose). Do not lay down on your bed though! You can lay on your back with your knees bent and resting into each other. If you practice yoga, it is a good idea to lay on your mat if possible. This will train your body to associate relaxation with your yoga mat. I hope that helps.

Don't label is "hurting..." label it EXACTLY what it is, so is it "pulsing, throbbing..." that will help, the point isn't to trick yourself. But in fact to meditate on the sensation, this will make your mind sharper as you pay attention to waht is actually happening in detail. Finally after a bit if it's too intense- slowly and gently move! Good luck.

The purpose of meditation is to put distance between the real you and the eqo. The ego is an idea of you, but not the real you. Just like an idea of a tree is not the same as an actual tree. Your idea of who you are is enitirely different from the idea another person has of you. And your idea of who you are is grossly inaccurate. People either heavily underestimate themselves and that's why they are insecure, or they greatly overestimate themselves and that's why they are arrogant and narcissistic. And this is why meditation is so valuable. When you are in the now, without the egos narrative constantly telling you are not good enough, you experience reality as it is, not how you believe it is. You don't have red tinted glasses of the ego skewing your experience of existence. Also you get to experience existence without the baggage of pain and suffering, the ego is holding onto. When you practice letting go of the idea, the ego, you start feeling lighter, more relaxed, more free, less stressed. Like a bird, a bird can't fly free without first letting go of the branch. And we just like a bird, we can't be spiritually be free unless we let go of the ego...

Been dealing and with anxiety and tension in the pelvic floor for years. I quit smoking about a year ago, but that didn't help much (apart from the obvious long-term benefits). Saw part 1 and came straight to part 2, and lemme just say that you're doing an awesome job! I've tried meditating on multiple occasions, but I could never continue because the gurus would make everything seem overly-complicated. You, on the other hand, made it really simple and I experienced a significant change in the first go. Will definitely continue. Thank you so much!

This is an amazing video for a beginner like me. I like the way you label sensations and thoughts. It has helped me greatly. I would love if you did even more on meditation or even yoga. You are great at teaching in this video!
