Bought these singing straws a while ago and I’ve just started using them and I’m finding it quite wonderful. I am a singer/actress …have done many B’way shows.

Thank you much. I learnt a lot more as compared to my weekly lesson with a 1-to-1 coaching. It is a fact that my singing improved after I started learning about using a straw from your video. I found my beautiful vibrato (high note) too which I never could do well for the last 10 years. I shared this magical discovery (of using straw) with my coach but I had an outright rebuke from him instead. So I decided to leave his coaching altogether today. Btw I'm a tenor(but not there yet) 🙃. Will be following your weekly lesson closely.

For anyone just starting out with the Singing Straw I have a little piece of advice, especially for anyone that is having an issue with it... I was having an issue until I noticed that she was kind of puffing out her cheeks (really just relaxing her cheeks) whereas I was almost sucking in my cheeks (basically making a fish face) while doing it. As soon as I recognized this and relaxed/puffed out my cheeks it instantly clicked and felt so much better.

Thanks for your advice! Great catch!

So glad I found the Singing Straw! I’m poring through all of your videos, thanks so much for your invention, I can’t wait to see the changes in my voice! Btw, I ordered the Pro for me and the original for my 7 year-old son.... I read that using a straw could help with stuttering, which is something he struggles with. After watching your videos I’m realizing why it would help with relaxing those TSP muscles in his throat! I’ll keep you posted on how it works for him! (Also I know to monitor him closely when he uses the straw, it’s not a toy :-)

Well, I was doing daily practice until I got food poisoning which messed up my throat for awhile. So starting at day one again. Sigh. Thank you for the videos. I really appreciate it a lot. The last time I was in a vocal class was over 25 years ago and I regret not continuing. Oh well; these things happen.

I have recently come across your channel. I am an aspiring singer wanting to sing professionally. I am prepared to practice everyday and put in the time, as you have suggested. Today I have started using a very small paper straw, which I hope will be sufficient. If I practice for an hour per day, is that too much? How do I buy one of your straws?
@SingingStraw Жыл бұрын
So happy to have you here! With the Singing / Straw you really only need a few minutes every day! I would recommend just doing what feels best for your voice. Some days that might mean a few minutes, some days you may want to do a little more. Always listen to what your voice needs! You can order your Singing / Straw on our website: www.singingstraw.com :) Good luck!! Let us know if you have any questions as you get started.

Thank you for this video! Should we usw a vowel during those exercises?
@SingingStraw2 жыл бұрын
You totally can! There's no one vowel that helps more than another - it's more of a mixing and matching to find the shapes that work best for your voice, the note you're singing and the quality of sound you're going for! Hope that helps!

when my voice gets higher I no longer feel the vibration on my lips, am I doing it wrong?
@SingingStraw3 жыл бұрын
Nope, it's just a changing of sympathetic vibration. Just focus on it feeling easy and relaxed. Good luck!

How do is know if I am feeling the resistance? What does it suppose to look like?
@SingingStraw2 жыл бұрын
You should be able to feel the back pressure when using the straw!

My voice doesn't usually crack, but I've just started using this and it's cracking really badly around the mid range.. is this normal? Am I doing something wrong?
