Thank you, you are one of the few channels that provide deepest and most honest review about any synth, just the synth itself and not about the brand. I'm sick of people hating on the synth because of the brand it bearing. So many "experts" out there look down on clone like these because they hate the company, which makes newcomer and beginner also look away from those spectacular synths because the "experts" told them so.

I'm glad there was a little box inside a box because I was trying to figure out if the synth was really big or maybe you were really small. Big first box thew me. Thanks for the review.

Liking the on camera reviews 👍 the only thing that's stopping me from getting one of these is the lack of patch memory. But this could be a goldmine synth for many people.

Glad I'm not the only one who has to turn every knob on a new synth to get sound, even though I've been playing synths for 3+ years. I *really* want one of those. Never thought much of it till I watched the demos, and it sounds so good.

I think the power supply plug thing is only a regulation if you're ordering from a UK supplier. You've imported this so they're not obliged to send you a British power plug.
@alunmauve3 жыл бұрын
It was EU regulatory alignment which meant Thomann used to be required by law to send a UK plug /adapter when the UK was part of the EU. Now the UK is a third nation, they don't have to bother. Along with customs fees to couriers, paying extra for a power supply or mains lead is just another bonus of leaving.

Great review, thanks. I wanted an original waaaay back but couldn't afford it so I was really looking forward to this. However, I've also been looking at reviews of the Poly D and I'm stuck between the two. The Poly D has aftertouch and a sequencer which are appealing. Would love to see a comparison video between the two.

Is a very ,very ,very great sound . also of excellent solid construction. Like the Poly D that I love. In short, I am happy with Behringher products, the first was the MS 101. It's not that I only have Behringher, but Moog Novantion Alesis A6 etc ... I like the sound of every car. Now a very nice IK Synt X pro is out.

Thanks man! It's me again with another question about this synth. I was looking to buy one (mainly because of the sync feature) and was wondering how well this thing could emulate a Jan Hammer type patch. Again, thanks for helping me with the poly d last time!
@StarskyCarr8 ай бұрын
Hi. That’s hard to say as he used lost of types of synths. The more glassy tones or bell like ones are likely to be digital or samples (DX7 or Fairlight) with strings probably a Jupiter 8 and the sequenced basslines maybe an analogue mono. But it’s really hard to say. I wouldn’t put the Monopoly as typical Jan Hammer… but it could do the basslines and some bell like tones … you could get 4 voice pads as well. In other words you could get something close but it wouldn’t be identical. This is why we end up with loads of synths!
@BenBreed-2007synthguy8 ай бұрын
@@StarskyCarr Hi, thanks. The type of sound i was wondering about was the sync lead on Led Boots of the Wired album. It sounds like a keytar, but I was curios to know if this synth could do that.

It's been MANY years since I last had my hands on a MonoPoly, but I thought I remembered there being a 'round-robin' style voicing on the original synth. Each press of a key cycled which VCO sounded. Maybe I missed that in your video or maybe I'm misremembering!

Why do people buy from Thomann instead of buying local?
@StarskyCarr3 жыл бұрын
For me it's timing.. for a review its important people can get the info before they buy it. I don't get sent synths before release like some other reviewers, so have to really on being able to get my hands on it early enough for reviews to be of any use. Most other stuff is UK, but for some reason Thomann always get the Behringer stuff earlier than anyone else.

@@StarskyCarr there's an agreement between Thomann and Behringer since a few months, for Europe. Called "super partnership". There's a new one for the UK with Anderton. For USA, it's Sweetwater. For Canada, it's Cosmo.

It’s the same as the original and all vintage monosynths - it’s actually not that hard to tweak between patches once you know the synths, and part of the fun - designing a set with sounds you can move through. Saving patches is rather useful though.
