Jade Empire was a good RPG, and the combat gets somewhat better when you know what you're doing (the game does not do much to properly teach you), also there's a lot of unbalanced horseshit, usually involving ghosts. Generally it's best to spec magic so you can dunk on ghosts, since they tend to be immune to most other stuff. Even then, some enemies just ignore the rules of the game and damage you automatically through blocks and stuff, which is shitty.

They were probably gonna fuck it up anyway. It's unfortunate that you have to go in such a roundabout way to play them on PC nowadays, but it'll always be worth it to me. It's one of those games I can ALWAYS think about replaying, at any time, at completely random intervals. It's timeless in my mind, a constant which is good and fun no matter what, regardless of how much I've played it. That's all it has to be. If there was a GOOD remake, and it was just the same thing but better, modern, and capable of playing without fixes, fantastic, I'd buy it in a heartbeat. If not, I'll settle for what I've got.

So here is the fun history of the KotoR remake. KotoR was shopped around by several studios, because Embracer and Disney refused to actually fund it. Sony picks it up (after Microsoft said no) Aspyre, who has dome most of the old Star Wars rereleases, starts to work on it. They have a solid vertical slice of the game to show off. Sony hates it because it is not "cinematic enough". Aspyre loses the game and it is given to another team in Embracer. After another year of development, with no news, Embracer starts having serious problems. From all accounts, there is no one or next to no one working on the game. It seems Sony is out and are no longer funding the game. It is rough being a KotoR fan right now...or a Star Wars fan in general.

If we got a Kotor remake, literally the only thing I would ask for is the feats and powers from 2 be carried back. 1 had like 0 good feats. This is assuming that they are using the same old dnd 3.5 based system.

How would not saying if its canceled or not - not affect the shareholders stuff or whatever? Like; personally I'd think that mean "oh well he won't comment & is being vague, I assume its fucked" & would assume that'd drop the value or whatever anyways, no?

The games that appear during a playstation showcase have a good chance of being dead shortly after the trailer is shown. KOTOR and Revenant hill both were shown during a playstation showcase and had nothing shown afterwards. Revenant hill had the unfortunate thing of being dead because team was too small and 2 of the main members quit because of health issues. Fucking game died after 5 months. Then Little Devil inside just had one trailer 2 years ago and never was heard from again.

Not sure if you saw it yet but more information has come out. He also walked back his comments. I choose to believe what I can see from developers and parent company. Jason has said he was told by Saber Interactive employees they are working on it. Also, the main guy when asked said he wasn't going to say anything since the media will just run with anything. Then this shit happens shortly after he said that. This leads me to believe more in line it is being worked on but not enough yet to reveal or show anything. Time will tell but I don't believe anyone especially if they are content creator to really know what is going on in the industry. What do I know I'm a person hoping it isn't dead and also sharing information.

Not to defend Ubisoft, cause they are shitty, but contractual work-wise they are always on time. They want to be known as a 'prestige' developer among popular global media and corporations, so they take those third party IP contracts seriously.

To some extent, wouldn't another barrier to the KOTOR games ever being remastered/rebooted is that the IP holder (ie Disney) has pretty much exiled anything made before their acquisition to the grave?
@zaphero5518 Жыл бұрын
What are you talking about? You can get everything from X-Wing to The Force Unleashed 2 on Steam and even some remasters of stuff like Episode 1 Racer and Outcast and Academy on Switch. Don't be lying to yourself about what's commercially available.

We haven't seen any gameplay of it. The lack of a Kotor 3 was sadder, I have no feelings on a KOTOR Remake I've seen nothing real of. Maybe it would've had FF7R gameplay maybe it would've just rehashed the old gameplay we'll never know what was going on at that front for any dev
@Archdaemos Жыл бұрын
Jade Empire is pretty fun. It's FUCKING TERRIBLE specifically on PC because only the Xbox version controls work properly. Also one of the PC versions, can't remember if it's GoG or Steam, is missing a file by default that causes the game to CTD.

Agreed. People look back on Mandalorian fondly, but it’s Star Wars flavored junk food. The most nostalgia-bait thing Andor did was feature Mon Mothma, and they flesh her out more than she ever has been.
@leithaziz2716 Жыл бұрын
@@crumdogy People liked Mandalorian at the start BECAUSE it was its own thing. The nostalgia-bait stuff outside of baby-yoda started to be a detriment the longer it went on, but it wasn't always like that, which is a shame.

As someone who waited until the announcement came around to give KOTOR 1 another chance, and managed to complete it in preparation of more news coming around, I can safely say that this is suffering. Original game's fantastic if you ignore everything wrong with it, and I'd love to see how the flaws could all be refined in the modern age, naively optimistic as that is. That said, as someone who didn't have any troubles with the "mess" others experienced with when it came to Jedi Survivor, that game still happens to be my GOTY so far alongside Persona 5 Tactica. It's a great time that improves on Fallen Order in every way, and it was a nice distraction before getting back into the suffering as a Star Wars fan.
