Hi Ms. Barbara, I did your 1/2 recipe for the bun…they came out perfect. It brought back some wonderful memories from my Granny’s buns from back in the day…I remember watching her grate fresh coconut for the milk…she’d do that for Beans & Rice her bun, coconut tart…she really believed in getting everything as pure as possible (old school) hence why nothing can compare to Granny…but nothing was ever measured…so even if I’d remember a recipe I’d be lost at how much to use. I thank you for your recipes and bringing back nice memories. I’ve since made sure other family members are aware of your channel. Thanking you again the Gillette family.

Hi my bun is in the oven an smells amazing. I have it on 375 for 30 minutes? hope it come out ok!

Thank you, thank you for your assistance! ! I went and bought the all purpose flour instead..didn't want to mess anything up,lol. he loved it!!! was completely surprised. And he said it tasted exactly how he remembered. He cried. My 6'4, 350lbs husband cried from this recipe! Tears of joy! Thank you so much!!

I made these and my son gave me great compliments, so I made the full recipe. I'm so excited to be getting my cookbook. I appreciate you. You make me feel like I'm in the kitchen with my mother again.

Omg....your Creole Bread was a hit.....my family loved it....first time ever making bread....my boyfriend wants me to make it every week now......lol...thanks so much!!!!!

Mrs Barbara I love u so much. I made creole bread for the first time and I cried when they came out and was good. They were really good. I am making your half bun right now in preparation of the blizzard that's about to hit.... I want some to eat when black out happen. Thanks for acknowledging the single people that are too far from home. Thanks for sharing this with everyone it mean so much to me..... now a wah check si if mi bun don raise lol

Hi with easter 2020 coming up pretty soon i wanted to do a early try out on creole buns. I tried ur method and it came out amazing. We all loved it i wanted to send pics but their done. I will definately try again for easter just including the cross

Mein I follow the recipe to the t and still my bun cook too fast on the outside and not as fast on the insides. It like. Why is that

I have self rising flour at home...what would I need to substitute /revise? Can you do a video if possible? My husbands mother is from Belize and all he talks about were her buns! She passed away. I'd love to surprise him. Please help! Love your videos!

+Mahogany K. Calizaire You would not add the baking powder to this flour and definitely no salt because self rising flour is very salty. Put everything else I did and you should be fine.

Thank you so much! He loves it with raisins as well. My first attempt was an epic fail. Smelled great but was too doughy and too salty...and was NOT your recipe. I'll definitely try this and let you know how it comes out. Thanks again :-)

Can you please do a banana cake . I noticed over here in the USA they call it banana bread. My mom old school and her banana cake was heavy and delicious. Its almost like the way they make bread pudding heavy back home. In fact my mom called it a banana pudding.

Hi Shalom, If you use the self-rising flour you can eliminate the baking powder, but you still have to use the yeast.
