I know this is just a two min clip so more could be happening. I don t think his tone changed it was neutral not rude, nor was he aggressive, just assertive. The only reason I think they were pissed is because he was making sure the job got done due to the captain asking him to. Tech the captain should of brought it up to Hannah but my guess they weren’t t doing their job to begin with. So Hannah could be pissed that he went to some one else not her. Like they talk about chain of command a lot and if your superior on the boat asked you to sweep you don t say you want to do that. Also if he was a women doing the same thing people would prob see it differently idk. Just my view.

I have a question. Why does Bryan say “the Captain has asked me the first mate to make sure this gets done” he is definitely not the first mate. I am pretty sure he is just the bosun which means he has two other people he takes order from beside the captain, the two other people is the First mate and the chief engineer. I would say since he is not the first mate Hannah has a higher authority than him cause he only has two bar and Hannah has three bar on her epaulettes.
