You know what stands out about Ben’s music? All of his songs can be arguably the best in the album. No song (of the four so far) is lower than the other. Every song had the same effort, passion, love, and care put into them. That’s not something you see in many artists, who usually get one decent song and just make the rest half-heartedly. His songs are personal, original, heartfelt, and in a way, home-made. Ben’s songs all are beautifully written and sung, and that’s why he’s such an inspirational artist.

I was also wondering, while writing along with the song, about how "this is Love, a temporary love" doesn't really go well with this inspiring video but I didn't question it because I thought that that's what Mr. Ben Platt was trying to convey. With "this is love, a temporary love", I thought that although love may be short lived, It is/was still this unpredictable thing we call "LOVE". Love filled with joy, of ecstacy, accompanied by sorrow and adversity. It's a beautiful romantic story of bittersweet. But in contrast to that, which I believe is the common perception of love, "this is Not, a temporary love" shows the perseverance that the couple will partake in the future, side by side. Providing an image of two people holding hands inside a tunnel but are facing forward never looking back, resolute, as they walk step by step together to reach the light that they are so focused to reach. Happiness? Success? Who cares as long as they have each other. I'm sorry about the lyrics and I'm sorry about my bickering for I was just caught in the moment. I mean, who doesn't get infatuated in the complexity of the idea of love. It's hard to Not Love, LOVE.

Can someone please ask Mr. Platt to stop being so freakin', consistently BRILLIANT (LOL)! As a gay man of a certain age, and well-versed in Broadway history, one the things I love about him is that he has managed to both connect and meld/cross the borders of time, so that his performances and compositions comfortably sit in dimensions both "classic" and contemporary. So much talent available to his community for us to savor and be illuminated by. We are blessed.
