1) The Chafetz Chaim Laws of Lashon Hara 4:7-8 says:
"One is allowed to repeat the wrongdoings of one who was raised in a religious environment and has cast off the yoke of Heaven. The reasoning is simple. If we allow a Rasha to rise up unchecked in our midst and we do not take a stand against the evil, our silence is not counted as righteousness, but as foolishness for allowing a cancer to grow unhindered."
2) Speaking Lashon Hara About a Heretic
The prohibition against speaking Lashon Hara applies when spoken about someone who is considered “amitecha”עמיתך (of your people), namely in observance of Torah and mitzvot. However, regarding those who are recognizably “apikorsim” (heretics), it is a mitzvah (fulfillment of a positive commandment) to disparage and shame them, to their face and behind their back, for everything that one witnesses or hears about them. The Torah states (Lev. 25:17 & Lev. 19:16) “One should not wrong his fellow” and “Do not act as a talebearer among your people,” but heretics do not fit under this category for they do not act as “your people.” Therefore, we follow the practice (as taught in Avot D’Rabbi Natan, a work from the Talmudic era), “those who hate you, L-rd, I will hate, and your rebellious ones I will dispute.” An “apikorus” (heretic) is one who denies the laws and prophecies of Israel, whether the Written Law or Oral Law. Even if he says, “All the Torah is true with the exception of one Scriptural verse, kal v’chomer, g’zeira shava, or one grammatical detail,” he is included in this category. ["Kal v’chomer” and "g’zeira shava” are Talmudic terms for two of the logical principles from which we understand many laws.] even intentionally wish to destroy it.

As a Noahide I think people like Ben take their Jewish heritage for granted(look at his video when he was playing catholic prayer songs on his little violin, which is idolatry by the way since the song is basically a prayer to Mary), if I was born Jewish I would not, wouldn’t be suprised if Ben came out of the closet as a christian just to make Daily wire look good since all he cares about is promoting his political values and not his religious ones

10:40 this is one example i think if someone who knows the torah like rabbi reuven would present ben with the evidence of the soul, whether from the Torah itself or from science (near death experiences for example) i think he would go back and reconsider his position. i think he is not intentionally denying the soul, rather he is trying to understand with the limited information he has, and he seems from that video to be humble to get guidance from those who know the torah more than him. I have a suspicion that some of the torah people he goes to may be misleading him. He seems to respect the rambam alot, so just showing him what the rambam himself says about the soul and moshiach should change his mind, but someone needs to do it in a tactful way. The main message i understand from rabbi reuven is that whether ben is a heretic or not is not the point, the point is that he has a massive following and whether he likes it or not he represents torah in the eyes of the broader public and has to get clear what he says from a torah point of view before saying anything. Also im not sure if he knows about the whole line of thought about how we know we are the right religion using logic and evidence, and not just a "belief". Maybe he should listen to rabbi keleman's famous shiur on this. As opposed to the other fake rabbis rabbi reuven speaks against, i believe that ben would be open to changing his opinion if he had the right person guiding him through the topics, as the torah is vast and we cant be expected to get everything right if we dont have the right teachers or we invest most of our day to learn the torah. Hopefully then once ben gets sensitised to the responsibilty he has, then he will fire the klavan guy and fix it. In the mean time i see that we do have to warn as many people to be careful of ben's opinions when it comes to torah. May Hashem wake up all His children and give them the correct knowledge of the torah!

Clips that intentionality point out the heresy won’t necessarily effect you. As you already understand that it’s only being presented to prove a point. Every clip in the lecture will be explained why it’s wrong. You’re not listening to it to learn from the fake speakers, rather the truth that disproves their nonsense. But yes, it can effect you as well to some extent but you can always skip over the clips which I did when the missionary was presented. I can’t stand listening to such filth, not even a few words because it’s so disgusting.

All this hoopla is entertaining but the brass-tacks I would say is this: Who is best-positioned to have the highest Poskim decide the case- with Bens full cooperation and participation- of whether or not he is allowed to be on a team with Klavan? My guess is Poskim will/would rule that he's only allowed to if he has a front-and-center disclaimer that he is diametrically opposed to the missionary work of Klavan. Torah knowledge and what is moral he adresses that he believes its a sin to do crimes against the torah which could mean death penalty but outside of eretz yisrael its not our laws and we cant rule it. Hence Ben shapiro is saying from the perspective of law rather than torah. Read his arguements i dont want any more bad info about ben shapiro on this site. Hes a good jew do you know there can be 2 ruling with opposite perspectives and both be right at same time hence the perspective your right and I'm right but we have to comine our arguement to get more of the truth. Ben Shapiro is misguided about certain crucial aspects of Yiddishkeit and really needs to be corrected and guided. However, his general involvement is with politics and his show has nothing to do with anything relating to Torah and hashkafs. It's unfortunate that he has a relationship with the mummar Klavan but the religious aspect never comes up in any context that I've ever seen. Ben needs to find a kosher Torah source to straighten himself out. In the meantime, his political commentary is generally very good but no one should take direction from him on how to mikayem the Torah or fulfill true Judaism.

That's the point...unless by "some chance" Shapiro didn't do any due diligence in his hire at all or just didn't analyze (think things through) the potential destruction he is causing to Jews by having Klavan on board...Know this however, Klavan is very open about J and I found a recent clip of him called what would the Klavan preach about the gospel from a question asked by a pastor on his show on dailywire...so it's incomprehensible to think Shapiro doesn't know his religious stance by now which is beyond heretical or that Klavan is in fact a missionary for J for J.

@@davidfreitag7507 I hear you on that and the internet can cause major problems for many people...I have programs that block images and other distractions and try to only stay focused on using internet for Torah learning these days. A person's will power to overcome his yetzer hara is the most important thing which includes setting up safeguards for himself by blocking or not tuning into those things that cause him to stray...And even to ideas in this particular case. Remember Shapiro has a type of personality that is very well looked up to because as the Rabbi and C D reiterated people see him as a genius...subconsciously whatever he says will start to influence them without them even knowing...from another post I mentioned "he also emits tumah (impurity) with his heretical thought, speech and action which can affect a person in other ways. I personally noticed every time I heard him I felt like I had to take a shower and didn't know why...my Rabbi friend who listened to him on the radio said he knew what I meant and now stopped listening to him B"H since I explained what Rabbi Rueven unveiled for the world to see about him".. Also the Rabbi said on the way to becoming a heretic as well...a person may still be "on the derech sort of speak" but it just take one heretical idea or thought to manifest in a person's mind unknowingly for him to be considered a heretic. It's not worth risking losing olam haba and being punished for some political talk that could be gotten somewhere else...

I find this and other videos like it to be not nuanced, imbalanced and dogmatic. Ben Shapiro's political influence has been highly profound and positive. His theological positions are subjective, naive and unlearned. Jordan Peterson and lehavdil Dennis Praeger (and similar minded intellectuals) share this modus operandi as coming off as experts in areas that are not. His relationship with Andrew Klavan is problematic, but does "not" represent his religious position. That is something Ben Shapiro will need to ultimately sort out. I cannot comment on R' Goldberg. I suspect there is more to the story than is being negatively painted. We all need to work towards achdus with fellow Jews and being pleasant and diplomatic in our critiques - not personalize them, but keep it to content...

@@chipchomper3995 The act of asking questions depends on the objective. If the objective is to examine in order to confirm and bolster the Torah, then questioning should be done as much as possible. If the objective of questioning is to try to find holes or weaknesses in the Torah to deconstruct it, it ultimately alienates one from God. One does not improve himself or his understanding when he engages in the latter: The beginning of wisdom is the fear of God. For the record, I'm not necessarily referring to Shapiro in my comment, but in general to the purpose of asking questions.

But to be honest i was surprised when watching some of the videos and i recognised some of the movies the clips come from and i guess it is just for dramatic effect, as one of the comments here explained. I personally prefer to keep it intellectual, but i understand he is trying to reach out to jews who are not fully observant, and Hashem puts these pychological manipulation tools in the world for a reason and they should be used for torah i guess when possible. I'm not trying to attack my Rabbi in any way. I highly respect him and what I'm trying to say is to take care when using these moving images from secular movies. I say this because I have a design, advertising and marketing background and I am very well aware of how this media is made up and they always contain a narrative even if it's a still image. This narrative I'm warning about is a secular narrative behind the imagery and even the colours etc.. everything in the image has this narrative. Just as the Rabbi is warning about Ben Shapiro and (his friends) these moving images being used contain (these kinds of friends) also.
