"I got cocky...I shouldn't be all showboaty" Still, Ben, you are right. It's better to be humble and take care of your body. Proverbs 16:18 is a good rule to live by. I just came back to skating at 48 and I'm riding an 8.8" Creature Jimmy Wilkins with 8.75" Thunders. I will probably try an 8.5" next. I was worried the wheels would stick out too much, but they don't seem to on your setup here. I'm doing ok. Can't ollie consistently yet, but I'm back doing slappies, reverts (frontside and backside) and power slides and working on manuals and nose manuals. I take my time and try to enjoy the process. Wearing full pads/helmet has taken some getting used to, but I feel safer and more confident when I fall. Really admire your skating, bro. You're one of my favorite people to watch. There are flashier, techier, gnarlier guys out there, but one thing you have...you're very consistent. Especially considering you're constantly changing your setup...maybe that's part of why. Anyway. Keep skating, bro and stay safe. You are an inspiration to skaters young and old.

It's not a popular opinion, but I love tensor trucks (once the bushings are swapped out). I love the old aluminum slider tensors more than any other truck and have been happily skating them for 15 or 20 years. I switched to mag lights (Mullen sliders and Daewon lows) this year because I have been curious for a while and they feel exactly the same albeit noticeably lighter. The only issue I have had is that the magnesium wears MUCH quicker than the aluminum so keep that in mind.
