How much the handles affect on video shooting to have more stable footage ? compare to hand held or a gimbal, what is your opinion ? I want to get one for my mirrorless camera and I'm confused does it worth to buy or pay extra and buy a gimbal. thank you

The biggest advantage of a gimbal is that it levels your horizon. With a rig you have to do that yourself. However with a rig there os mo balancing needed which means you can attach heavier accessories such as external lens and light that might be more difficult to setup on certain mobile gimbals :)

I love all the new features in this system! Last year, I built a DIY 'cage within a cage' setup and carried my phone on a lanyard. This year, I’ve come up with an even better idea and plan to reach out to SmallRig directly.

Thanks a lot! That would be great but so for I don‘t think so. The All in One Kit has a zoom button but only works for Android as far as I know.

Very good video as always. I just ordered some stuff, I have a trip coming up and the idea is to try tp use the iPhone exclusively some of those accessories will do great. Pretty 'sad' for us Swiss though, some of things can be delivered in Switzerland. I'm using SmallRig stuff for other gears and ordered directly many times... Anyway, not an issue for me personally, I used your link so hopefully good for you.

Why no mention of the Bluetooth remote that comes with the handle that has the internal ssd chamber. I'm interested in the zoom/focus toggle shown on this remote. Does the Bluetooth zoom/focus using this remote work?

The zoom/focus seeema to only work with Android cureently, didn’t wokr with the iPhone. Tested it with the BMC, FiLMiC Pro and Default Camera.

@ Thanks Benett. I have the SmallRig cage setup for my iPhone 16 Pro shown in your video. It is very well designed and feels like a quality piece of equipment when used. I added a Movo X1 shotgun mic with WS-G80 dead cat since I record primarily outdoors. I was thinking of adding the handle with SSD and Bluetooth shutter/zoom/focus, but have not seen anyone on YT demonstrating that it works.

I like it. But I wish the grip was better. It's too smooth and rounded to be ergonomic for me. I just want this rig/cage, but with a Polar Pro grip attachment......and Moment Quicklock filters or just non-circular filters that don't get in the way of the magsafe. That'd be the home run/perfect setup. So annoying....because they all nail some part but then miss the other necessary part. Ugh. That handle with storage in it is sweet. Would be awesome to see something like that in a quickly attachable grip like the Polar Pro grip. Throw a sneaky Type A card in there or something.

Hi, how secure is the lens/filter plate holder on the cage? I also heard it can be pushed out on the top left corner because there isn't a locking tab like to the bottom.

Yes there is no lock for the sliding lens plate however it does hold very securley. So far it has never fallen out.

​@@BenettGraezer What if you pushed it out from the back on the non tabbed top left corner? It's probably a non issue and a reviewer was stress testing it but it's still valid. Lastly, Is there any changes to the t-mount this version? It was loose on the 15pm cage. Both with their T-37mm and T-67mm magnetic filters :( I remember you gaff taping the m-58mm.

There are two ways to secure a filter holder on the SmallRig cage for iPhone 16. One uses a slide on mount that attaches to the cage itself. The other uses a slide on mount (its SmallRig item 4993) that only works with the SmallRig iPhone 16 case. The attachment to the case is better as it snaps in place when you slide it on. You could knock the filter mount out of its locked position, but it will not fall off unless you accidentally slide it around two inches.

I have this setup (not the handles, I ordered the quick release handle mount which I added to a handle I already owned), and I'm really happy with it but there is one flaw. After only removing the phone from the case a couple times the MagSafe magnet in the case pulled out (stuck to the phone). The same thing has been reported by other people too, so it is flaw that SmallRig needs to address. I'll be asking for a replacement.
