Knocking in the rear could be the smaller of the two rear seat backs rattling on its pivot point. I had the same noise and thought it was the rear door but it was actually the smaller seat back. Hit the top side of the seat back with your hand from the cargo area side and listen for a metal on metal knocking noise. If it’s the seat back there are some small nylon like bushing that need to be replaced at the pivot to fix the knocking. Either that or they replace the back seat frame.

Prerequisites to owning one of these vehicles should owning a Land Rover series truck, then a Defender and then you get to buy an Ineos Grenadier. Anyone that has worked himself up to a Grenadier through a Series 2 and then a Defender will know exactly what I’m talking about. I’m buying one in spite of the little noise coming out of the spare tire and the misaligned door. As long as it has heat and doesn’t leak, I’m good with that, damn the price point. An old Land Rover mechanic once said to me “ You have to have the stomach for these things.” I saw that as a challenge and I’ve been driving them ever since. This vehicle is just the next step in the journey. Hop in and quit complaining.

@benjamiknlyng8269 - I'm right there with you. I've owned a number of older Land Rovers and loved them, so I was really excited when I heard about the Grenadier coming out. Then I saw what they did with it and the problems people were having with them. Ruined the vehicle for me, no matter how much I want to like it. Maybe it'll get better as they make more of them, but for this price point, there are just too many things wrong with it. Regardless, I can't get past my hatred of that transmission, and they're unlikely to do anything about that, so I'll likely never own one.
