The F150 Powerboost is the best truck out there right now. I own two of them, one as a personal truck and the other for one of our businesses. I've been buying trucks now for 45 yrs and using them to make a living.

Yes Ben, please do a comparison of the XLT vs the Lariat. Upgrading to the Lariat, you add leather seats, auto AWD, nicer materials (I assume?).... but the question is, is it worth the higher price?

I’ve had many trucks, most well optioned (Denali, Laramie, Lariat, etc.). Currently have a 24 XLT Powerboost and love it. Not the fanciest truck I’ve had but has most of the options I’ve come to expect and use often. Can’t decide if I want to level it or not because the MPG’s are great right now.

@randywhelchel4674 I ger 24 as an average. I got 25.6 on the way to the beach place this morning 95% highway. City driving it get better then highway. But under most conditions 24 mpg. I'm hoping the expedition goes hybrid. My wife needs a new one.

The Powerboost is the only way I’d own a hybrid truck. Having that pro-power onboard is a game changer, especially the 7.5kw battery to power my house in case of an outage, which is especially important with our increased dependence on electricity.

Ben, if this is a Power Boost, why didn't you tell us about its most important feature: was it the 2.0 Kilowatt version or the 7.2 Kilowatt version? Texans who lost power in the big snow storm two winters ago were able to power their entire homes with the 7.2 Kilowatt battery/generator in the F-150. It will also power just about any RV boondocking off grid; including a 50 amp rig with A/C on the roof (perhaps one at a time). I won't even start in on its construction site uses. The 7.2 K rig has the most torque of any F-150, and with the 6.5 ft bed you pointed out, it has the highest towing ability in its class. You have to go to an F-250 Super Duty V-8 diesel to get more towing ability. Maybe the F-250 Godzilla V-8 could tow more, but the Godzilla is not available in an F-150. Still, it's always a nice drive with you, Ben. I enjoy your vlogs as much as any on KZbin.

just drove an xlt hybrid about 1000 miles from Ohio to Florida , and I got to say, its a nice truck. this thing pulls like a freight train, the audio system is incredible, I was getting 25 mpg. been looking for a truck, this might be it.

Here's one thing that bothers me, as a current owner of a 2020 F-150: You cannot get darker cloth on the seats AND chrome at the same time. If you want dark cloth seats, you have to get the sport/blackout trim. If you want chrome (old fart here), you get a light cloth, which I imagine will be dirty in 5 minutes.

Hybrids generally get better mileage than stated on sticker. My hybrid is rated at 43mpg city and 37mpg highway. I average 50+ mpg city and 42mpg highway. And I don't hypermile, but do let the instrument panel coach me in braking.

hybrid/plugin hybrid with a descent inverter now you have a genset in your car in case of a power outage. Most if not all hybrid cars don't give you this

Exactly. Anyone who complains about the pricing of the truck- PLEASE show me the comparable truck in the new truck market that is cheaper. It sucks, and these trucks are not worth what they cost- but neither do houses these days. You will never see a truck with one upgradable option now for less than 50k. Get used to it.

If you’re looking for efficiency I think the 3.0 diesel in the Silverado/sierra is a better alternative. 25-30 mpg avg 600+ mile tanks all day long

I’m shopping for a new F150 now. XLT’s in my area are being advertised for about $9200 off MSRP, which seems reasonable considering today’s market and all the extra features they have over my current 2020 XLT. Trying to decide if the price bump for a Lariat would be worth it for the ventilated seats and 4A transfer case.

HARD PASS. I will hang onto my Certified Used 2021 Tundra CrewMax Nightshade. Has the legendary iForce 5.7L V8 engine that won't fail me and has more than enough power when needed. The six-speed transmission is very smooth. No one needs 8 or 10 speed transmissions...the world was fine before. This truck is a joy to drive. My truck was $30k cheaper than any new truck out there. I guess people like to be poor... 🤣
