That was a really low optioned Escalade. Would have been nice to see an Escalade Sport Platinum copared with the Denali Ultimate. Also Escalade warranty is 4 years. GMC is only 3 years.

I have 21 Denali with the Premium package its all you need to have great truck I got it for 73K Fully loaded with 4 wheel drive before covid I can't see paying 100k + for the same vehicle. I think I will keep mine for awhile longer.

Not exactly why you would compare the top of the line Denali to a base Escalade. You keep saying Escalade is simplistic but what you mean is the Escalade is more elegant. My previous suv was the Yukon xl Denali and I traded it in for the Escalade because the Escalade is just better being that both suv are the same trim level. The only reason why people would want the Denali is because the way it looks up front but if you appreciate comfort and luxury, it’s Escalade all the way.

Do you have an opinion between the Denali Ultimate and regular Denali, whether the seats are equally comfortable or if perhaps the Ultimate seats are more comfortable? Good review. Useful. Thanks for sharing this. I just wish I could get those same seats with that higher quality leather of the Denali Ultimate but in all black instead of that umber brown, and i wish i could get the Night Vision available in the Escalade but not the Denali Ultimate. The Night Vision is actually useful in the fog, and I suspect during heavy snowstorms to be able to better see the heat of car engines in front of you or people or animals of course. The Denali Ultimate has the fog lights. I am not sure if those will be as effective in serious fog or snowstorms, light fog or snow likely fine i suspect though. I'd prefer 20" rather than 22" wheels for the thicker rubber sidewall, helpful I suspect on the rougher roads of mountainy ski country, but apparently can't get those in either so that's not a difference. Honestly don't know which way to go. I do like both. Best I can tell since the Escalade site makes no reference to it, of the two only the Denali (I assume the Ultimate included but need to confirm that) comes with Active Response 4WD, that also comes in the AT4, so that gives or would give the Denali Ultimate the nod for me at this point. Thumbs up to a useful review.

Been working at a GMC dealership for 17 years now. Cadillac is a beautiful vehicle, but when you look at resale value between a top of the line GMC and Cadillac, in a couple years they have nearly the same resale value. The more they cost, the harder they fall.

Not just the resale value, according to the latest KBB statistics, the average sales price of a new GMC vehicle ($64k) almost tied with the average sales price of a new Cadillac vehicle ($67k). And that gap continues to close. Expect the average price gap to completely disappear in a few years with the introduction of Hummer to the GMC lineup.

You can't compare a Denali ultimate against a base model Escalade because the Escalade sport platinum is fully loaded like the ultimate Denali but more. I'm in love with the new Escalade v series and I'm about to put my order in soon. Oh plus the Escalade has 36 akg speakers in it😁 But overall good quick review buddy.

I just love the front of the gmc. We have a 2022 ram limited and the lights are nothing compared to the Yukon. Grand wagoner is still super tempting compared to both- I just hate the outside design of it. For day to day use the Yukon easy. I do love the side profile and rear lights of the Cadillac.

We have a 21 Yukon Denali now and are about to swap for a used 22 Escalade Sport. The Denali lacks in the luxury dept for sure, and they’re priced so close now in secondary market. Escalade can be had for maybe 7-10k more vs used 22 Denali.

@@stevechimelski4557 I drive a 2021 sport platinum Escalade and there is nothing luxurious about the second row what so ever. Not even a fan of the OLED dash it radiates heat. From the outside it looks great but inside very disappointing except the ice box option cold drinks or frozen 🥶 items. Entertainment system sucks you have to connect via a cord to hdmi Then only heated second row captains and ac control. Lincoln kicks the Escalade & all GM iterations ass in interior. The new iq Escalade will finally step up

Yukon Denali Ultimate comes standard with rear entertainment system with the non-removable large screen directly behind the driver's head and ears, it sort of echo's/reflects some front-area sounds and noises, so distorts their source, it's annoying and I don't like it. Escalade comes with Night Vision System, not available on GMC's, it's a very nice feature for those of us living in foggy area's or live in the boondocks where deer and wild hogs cross and stand on the sides of the road.

I do like the escalade exterior slightly better but love the Denali front interior set up way better screen better for most uses and the push pull Transmission engagement frees up the console for more and easier to clean would like the fridge/freezer option in the Denali. Second row luxury sucks on both, GM totally missed the mark on keeping up or surpassing the Lincoln navigator which offers heated & ventilated captains chairs with massage also there is the console with storage and easy to reach AC controls and audio! GM only heated seats woopee. Who redesigns from the ground up and doesn't surpass the competition in the process apparently GM. add a diesel plus hybrid or ev and I'll go with Lincoln

Ben, okay, comparison but not great! Slow down, remember the term "less is more." Make fewer videos and focus on quality of content. You had many errors and missed many features on both vehicles. A big one, for example, would be the sliding front center console on the Yukon. My wife drove both of these vehicles for three days each to make the decision on purchasing (no lease, no finance, call it an early Christmas present). Feature to feature, the premium to move from GMC to Cadillac is approx. $12,000. People that care about status will buy the Cadillac, but save your money and funny enough, the Yukon received more positive comments on the looks. As a family, my wife chose the Yukon XL Ultimate with the Duramax. She couldn't be happier and the fuel economy for the size of the SUV is shocking and for the difference in cost between the two, she will drive the GMC for three years with the difference in MSRP price.

I do have some thoughts. In my personal opinion, this wasn’t a fair comparison. I think being the GMC was a top tier ultimate design, it needed to be put up against either a LUXURY PLATINUM, or a SPORT PLATINUM trimmed fully spec’d out Escalade. Truth be told I was going to buy the Yukon XL Ultimate but it has one flaw that the Escalade did indeed beat it for. I’m one of those “RARE BIRDS” who wanted the “bench seat” instead of the Captain’s Chairs and although the Yukon Denali offers it, the Yukon Denali “Ultimate” does not and would not even hear me regarding being willing to pay for the conversion. I told the dealership I checked into the specs of the Denali ultimate, I would be willing to buy the seat from GM online, pay to have it upholstered in AMBER ULMER and put in my truck. I was told if I did that they would “VOID” my warranty. I was outraged and still willing to do it, but by the time I talked to the upholstery shop, they said $15,000. I did the math and was at the price of a Luxury Platinum Escalade and Cadillac offers the bench seat in their top trim. Most people want captains chairs. So I get it. If I wanted captains chairs I would go with the Yukon XL ultimate over the EscaladeESV luxury platinum. However that’s just the way the ball bounces.

Much prefer the push button transmission that the horrible electronic gear shifter that you must put into 'N' then forget the second step to press the 'P' so that then upon exit the car rolls back over you . This is what happened to the new Star Trek movie's 'Chekov' actor Anton Yelchin who died when his 2015 Cherokee rolled backward down a driveway he became trapped against a brick postbox pillar and a security fence. @@G-Rated that whole design was a malfunction. multiple tragic stories of roll-away casualties. deaths and lawsuits. people knew how the cars worked, but were used to one swift move and the car is in park, then all the sudden it is multiple steps to put car in park. bound to be an error no matter how many times you have driven the car. now, thanks in part to liability of the flawed system, doors are now equipped with automatic trigger to shift electric trans to park if that error is made

Thank you for your review. I have one piece of constructive criticism for you to consider. I really liked the feature for future comparison between the two vehicles, but to really make your comparison useful, it would’ve been helpful if you had given us a precise price for the Escalade. I don’t know what “well over six figures“ means. Is it $105,000? Is it $155,000? Is it $300,000? (I realize that $300,000 is absurd, but it certainly qualifies as being “well over six figures“). If it’s only $105,000, then it might be worth it to purchase the Cadillac because has greater brand recognition and potentially a higher resale value down the road. If it’s $155,000, again, it’s an easy choice, the Yukon would be the way to go, brand, recognition be-damned. But without a precise price, I’m left unable to make a decision unless I want to log onto Cadillac‘s website and spec it out myself. But if I were going to do that, I wouldn’t need to watch a KZbin review. Just one man’s opinion.

Why do you always make sure to start the GM vehicles with their driver doors open? You know there’s a welcome animation that these higher end trucks do when you get inside and close the door behind you? You should never shoot a video against the sunlight. Absolutely unprofessional for such a presentation of such expensive vehicles. And a little slower explanation would be good too. The video looks as if you are constantly being rushed...
