Nice video Ben, I love that location, I used to go almost every month, but haven't been since the start of Covid - must get out there soon.

Excellent video Ben! A great location in our doorstep....I will be back and I hope it's with better conditions, I have not had much luck there lately. Thanks for sharing my work.

Thanks Ben for another slice of my home county. Loving it. Seven Sisters Country Park is always a must visit for me when back there (hopefully later this year - fingers crossed). I think the coastline retreats at about 1 metre a year from memory, and sometimes a bit more down at Birling Gap itself. Cheers again, all the best and thanks for the armchair excursion

No problem. Let me know if you have any requests - I will see what I can do. That sounds like a great business idea. A holiday channel on demand!

Ben, this was so helpful! I've been itching to visit this location for ages. Clear Outside shows clear skies for this coming Saturday and high tide coincides with sunrise. Should be worth the 0330 start. Love your channel, one of the best photography channels on KZbin. Thank you!

Thanks Philip, sounds like you have a bit of a commute to get here. I just checked my app and the sun still appears to be rising over the sea - so I hope you get some amazing shots!

Another great Video Ben, great spot for photography. I ventured to beachy head lighthouse after seeing your video you made. What a walk!!! But well worth it when you make the lighthouse.

Yes indeed, it wouldn’t be so bad if the ground was consistent sandy beach, but there are massive uneven rocks and its potentially dangerous. I think I will head down there agin soon, its the right time of year for it.

Great video, I was up there myself at sunrise not long ago and had the same problem with that car park unfortunately I wasn't the only one there photographing it at the time so there was quite a few cars already there so had to head further down the hill.
@benharveyphotography2 жыл бұрын
I think it comes down to luck, as you have to shoot this in the winter and then its not that early for sunrise and you will expect people to be up and out - you just have to keep trying over and over until you get a clear car park. I still had to clone out my car in PS - but that was better than 5 cars!

Ben, this is a fantastic video. Your photos and drone footage make me think this is a combination photography and travel channel - excellent content! I’m glad you’ve got good common sense to not sit on the cliff edge. If you sat on the edge with your feet dangling I wouldn’t be able to watch. Excellent work!
@benharveyphotography2 жыл бұрын
Thanks Clark, and I would like to travel more, the scope of this channel for the last two years has been within 2 hours drive of my home - but I try to make my video more than ‘just’ about photography. I don’t like heights so I don’t think I would be able to do go so close to the edge anyway!
@scotty44182 жыл бұрын
The drone footage certainly emphasised your point Ben as some of those fissures looked big and as you said no image is worth it if it means extreme personal risk. Nice array of images too including Pablo's as well and valuable information for anyone considering going there for photography
@benharveyphotography2 жыл бұрын
Cheers Jim, I didn’t deliberately film anyone that was on the edge, I didn’t want to highlight it too much - but you will be amazed at how close people will get to the edge. Amazing story, Pablo was there taking some photos, as you do, and two base-jumpers without warning just ran from their nearby parked up car straight off the edge! It wasn’t until he saw the parachutes open that he realised what had happened!

In Victoria, Australia there is The 12 Apostles. It's falling apart. A few years ago, some tourists went out to the end to have a look, and the bridge the crossed collapsed while they were admiring the view.
@benharveyphotography2 жыл бұрын
That is really sad. It sounds like the same situation as here, you cant put a fence up to stop people going near the edge, that defeats the point and the beauty of the area. Sometime though, people need to be told, like ‘stand behind the yellow line when the train arrives’ otherwise you will get hit by a train.

@@benharveyphotography Australian landscapes, in some cases, have been wearing down for billions of years. A rock I know of has a sign nearby dating it about one billion years ago. Elsewhere in WA, two, three. It's part of aging, in this case any human interference has been minimal. And it's still the shipwreck coast, still has spectacular coastal scenery.

I was thinking of going there last Sunday [I live in Eastbourne] ...went to West Beach Newhaven instead...silly man I am! Tide was too low and sun rose over the sea wall!! Should have gone to Beachy Head !! Great video as usual Ben...Have to pick up on your pronunciation of Belle Tout...Sorry !! Locals pronounce it Bell Tout... !!

You have a lot of lovely photographic compositions on your doorstep Pete. Happy to be corrected on the pronunciation - I question myself every time that I go there and talk about it in my videos!

Hello. Welcome. I have thanked Alex for his kind recommendation, it was a complete surprise. Depending upon what you enjoy watching, I make a variety of videos from landscape photography ‘adventures’, location advice videos (generally based in Sussex but I have made videos in Dorset, Devon and areas if Essex), tutorials (fine art, infrared and macro) and I make gear reviews of equipment that I use to make my videos and photos. I tend to make a video fortnightly now, previously I just made videos whenever I fancied it.
