Thank you so much for this informative video! I just have one question. If I change the ad creative at the ad level, would it put my campaign or ad set back in the learning phase? I often hear that even minor changes to your campaign could put it back into the learning phase and ultimately negatively affect your campaign. If that is true, what can be done to prevent your campaign from going back to the learning phase?
@BenHeath3 жыл бұрын
You are very welcome. Yes it will but that's nothing to be afraid of. Testing is far more important than avoiding the learning phase.

HI Ben! ***** When you say "refresh the ads" do I have to change the ad for another one or keeping the ads with a good performance and ad new ones? How many ads are recommended per ad set? thanks for your content
@BenHeath4 жыл бұрын
Great questions Antonio. I always keep high-performing ads going until performance drops off. So when I say refresh ad creative, I'm referring to adding new ads into the existing ad sets. I like to have 2-4 ads per ad set live at any one time. That strikes the balance between avoiding ad fatigue and not giving Facebook too many variables.

Hi Ben. Thank you! New Subscriber here. QUESTION 1) What does 1% and 10% Lookalike mean?What is that percentage mean? Can you please reply? 2) What should I do similar for a lookalike if my client does not have a website, I do not know how to make sales funnels yet and I am the first to advertise his business on facebook? What should I use similar to lookalike?
@BenHeath4 жыл бұрын
Awesome. The percentage refers to the audience size. A 1% contains 1% of the Facebook users in that country. A 10% includes 10%. You probably can't use lookalikes yet. You'll have to build warm audiences first.

I’ve heard from other youtubers that I should use engagement campaign to get social proof first before conversions. You’re saying forget the social proof and go straight for conversions? Thanks for any input and great straight to the point content.👍
@BenHeath4 жыл бұрын
Yep that's right. There's not a lot of downside in generating social proof first but I don't think it adds much value either. When you run a conversions campaign you will generate social proof - particularly if you're using a large budget.

Hi Ben, As you recommend using lookalike audience, would you recommend using lookalike based on website visitors or IG engagers when starting if previous customers don't exist? Thanks
@BenHeath3 жыл бұрын
Yes I would test both of those. It's a good idea to test any source audience you can with lookalikes. Previous customers is usually the best source but you don't need to wait for that to use LALs.

Topic= Audience Size. Hi Ben... I live in Singapore and population here's around 5.5m . We do not target internationally. We offer courses valued at 3000gbp I heard and read in other places, that 1 to 3% of population is good. That between 50k to 150k. My current targeting is based on personas we have identified. So that restricts audience size sometimes. My question is , " is quantity better than quality" when I do the audience targeting? And we just let Facebook worry about the quality?
@BenHeath3 жыл бұрын
Good question. In your situation I'd go with at least a 5% - maybe even a 10% LAL. I'm in the larger audience camp - from experience that's the way to go.

I'm looking to build my email list and have potential customers enquire about my product by filling a form. I'm selling a high ticket product, so I assume that people won't impulse buy the item and would want to do some research beforehand. I'm thinking of setting my campaign objective to, 'Lead Generation', would it work all right?
@BenHeath5 жыл бұрын
That is a good strategy to test for products that are beyond the impulse price point. Whether it works will depend on a lot of factors like the quality of your ads, the lead magnet, the follow up sales process, etc. You'll probably see better results from sending someone to a landing page and using the conversion objective as opposed to lead gen. However, you can test both.

Hi Ben. I enjoy your stuff and you and a couple other guys here are really turning my business around. If you could, would you consider doing a deeper dive on how to create ad creative.. I see ads with 150,000 views and thousands of shares. When I change out my ad creative which I'm doing weekly also, I go back to zero on those so I can never build up social proof... What's the Se ret to this? Thanks in advance
@BenHeath5 жыл бұрын
Thanks a lot. And yes, I am planning to more ad content related stuff. I have created a video that goes into a lot of detail around creating video ads on Facebook: kzbin.info/www/bejne/rn_NkGetYtahrck The example I use in that video has over 150,000 views. The key to building up a huge amount of social proof is to keep running the ad without changing it - for that you need to create an ad that performs very very well and target a very large audience.
@nosiesjuosteles50135 жыл бұрын
I have one product store, my purchase lookalike audience have 400+ events but it's still worst converting audience. In my case broad audience ( all people in a country, 18-65+y, women +men) works way better then lookalike. With broad audience i get ~7$ per purchase, with lookalike - 25+$ per purchase. Any ideas why it's so? I live in a small country, my 1% lookalike size is 18.000 people and I am running 50$/day on ad. Could it be a problem? I asked about this in a lot of forums, but nobody is able to answer why my lookalike audience is not working.
@BenHeath5 жыл бұрын
Hi Arnas - you've hit the nail on the head there. Your audiences is too small. With that sort of population I would try a 10% lookalike and see how that performs. It may be that open targeting produces the best results, in which case I would stick to that.
@peakpotentialfamilychiropr46134 жыл бұрын
What should you use if you want them to find out the lead form from the ad? Is that conversations or leads

If you want people to fill out a lead form on Facebook, then you need to select the lead generation objective, not conversions.

Thanks for your video Ben, just one question I'm advertising for a town that has just 60000+ users on FB. Do you recommend using always the full audience? Without any interests? Or try lookalikes and video view percents? This is making me crazy. Never know which audience size target on this small place. Thanks for your help, regards!
@BenHeath5 жыл бұрын
Yep, with just 60,000 I would target all of them or just enter basic demographic info such as gender and age. If you add anything else in, your audience will be too small

Lookalike audiences won't deliver the best results for every business but your scenario is not typical at all. There may be other factors at play here and it does depend who is on that email and download list.
@mitchmarowitz55804 жыл бұрын
Perhaps there are a lot of spammy emails in that list? It is quite a large list. I haven't done this before myself, but I have heard there are ways to validate some of these emails to make sure they're legit. Sorry for being a year late haha

You reject the value of traffic that can boost the volume of people going to a page/eshop with not enough pixel data? Really?

Great question Vasilis and yes I do. I know conventional wisdom is to start with traffic , but we have tested this a number of times and conversions has clearly won - even with a new Pixel. And we run dozens of Facebook ad campaigns in all sorts of industries every week. If conversions is what we want - that's what we'll use :)
