I am 73, and what I have found is what every shape needs beyond all else is love and respect. Which is understanding and acceptance. Very simple not so easy and what we do not give ourselves or each other. Try. I am all the shapes.

@Stess-ky4gn you are speaking wisdom! We definitely embody all the shapes in some way. In other versions of the test I ask people to choose 2 or more of them and explain how they connect and interact for them. Thanks for commenting 🙏

@Msfruity44 that's beautiful. I wonder if there is one that feels "most at home" for you in ideal circumstances. But if you are able to adapt to people and situations amd still feel you are being authentic to yourself that's amazing 👏

I was considering not commenting at all until I got to 8:55. I actually had a difficult time deciding between square and squiggle, but I knew I definitely wasn’t a circle or triangle based on how I am perceived and who I know I am. I’m someone who appears like a square on the outside for sure, and in many ways I naturally am the qualities he described related to squares, but for the squiggle I knew that felt right too since it was malleable and creative in a way, and most importantly different/ out of place. Once he explained that squiggles can take the form of other shapes it all made sense. And then once he said the word “mask” it made even more sense as someone with neurodivergent tendencies.

@normalouis8593 what a great reflection...thanks for sharing! Based on what you said, it does sound like how squiggles often feel when they take the form of a different shape to survive and blend in. There is nothing wrong with being malleable like that, but squiggles need to honor their energy and creativity too!

I chose squiggle and this is spot on, I am 48 and definately in a healing process.

Yes, I have a lot of empathy for squiggles. But if you can embrace your "squiggleness" now, even as adult, you can still definitely unlock your super powers with it.

Funny I gravitated toward the triangle. I wanted to be circle or squiggle but when I saw what it meant to be a triangle, it all made sense. To me purpose is everything. All the power in the word is in the why. Why helps me figure out the how and the when. Why clears a path and helps to create a method for achieving a goal.

That first instinct you had was on point! Sounds from your reflection on purpose that you really do identify with those triangle qualities.

Really interesting. I chose the squiggle with my gut, but my reason was that I was thinking of graphs and potential to do anything, drawing, pathways, ropes, making shapes and connections, learning as I go. I work in a pretty seemingly square field (Science), however I do R&D and am a problem solver in that field. So I am in the buisness of Squiggling with Squares, Triangles and Circles as needed. I've been squiggling (adapting to any situation) all my life and I'll keep squiggling.

@Scarletcroft I love it! I always see squiggles as that breath of fresh air, that spark of inspiration, that divergent idea that is necessary and refreshing for ANY field. And if you look at some of the most important scientific breakthroughs in history where did they come from? From those who dared to squiggle!!! Keep squiggling 🙂

@Matthew2414a nice! That's where I've always identified too. Lately part of my work has been looking at the potential "shadow" side of being a circle, and where it's important to develop stronger boundaries or edges. Thanks for sharing your result!

I think a ranked choice might be interesting too. Mine would have been triangle, circle, squiggle, square - and I think that would be pretty spot on as far as my personality makeup. Also would be curious how common each shape is. Is it 25/25/25/25 or do we maybe have few squiggles for example. Also - I think the fact that I, a humanoid canine in a suit, more closely resemble the shape of a triangle than any of the other shapes, was a factor in my decision. Also, I wonder if shape choice has anything to do with mood, context, etc. For example, I was just thinking about new years and the things I want to do differently next year - very triangle stuff. But maybe if I’d just been with loved ones, I might be more prone to pick circle. Etc :) Also triangle gang for life watch out ⚠️

SO MANY great points to unpack from a single comment! I agree the ranked choice approach would be an insightful variation. Sometimes I have people choose two or more and explain how they would work together to represent their dynamic. And I also wonder about distribution. Even quarters seems "natural" but I think cultural influences in different decades and time periods influences how personalities are nurtured. For example, periods that emphasize conformity, order, systems aren't accommodating to squiggles necessarily. And that last point on moods and focuses of the moment influencing...I think yes! It would be fun to give an answer once a day for 30 days and find the most common. And as a humanoid canine, I bet your most likely baseline is a wonderful circle, but while fetching probably the focus of a triangle rules, at dinner time that square regularity probably reigns. Etc. Thanks for your insights!!!

Oversimplification. This vid only prooves that in 3D squares are many different triangles, balls, squiggles, and other shapes. That is not to say that there are no simple dumb blocks (3D squares without any shapes inside them) useful as building material.
@PurposeLabChannel26 күн бұрын
@dragoncomosaics9282 definitely an oversimplification! Very true. We are layered and complex, but this simple quick intuitive test is still useful if it offers us some self-insight and/or helps us feel empathy for how others are wired.
