WoF with Benny and his like was a major factor in the breakdown of my "Christian" marriage. I feel sorry for you Costi when you read the prophecies about false teachers and deceivers and realize that your beloved uncle is who God had in mind when he inspired that. It can hit you like a ton of bricks when you realize a loved one is obviously on a path to damnation. And I say beloved because he is beloved by God and his family. It takes a great man to do what your uncle does and so he is easily loved for those qualities, but unfortunately he has allowed greed and selfishness to triumph in his life. I once felt God's grief over Jim Jones would you believe.

Great conversation, I grew up in the Orlando area during this season we always thought it was weird to see a pastor drive around in a Jaguar and have the level of living he had. It was my first experience with these types of teachers, especially what Mike talks about. My friend’s mom emptied her savings to give to the ministry and my friend who was not a Christian was so confused on why she had to do this.

Unrelated but related... In July 2023, I attended a conference in KY that Cultish participated in through teaching. I was a very emotionally damaged skeptic from being raised and abused in a cult like church. Found some healing by making friends with others who had similar experiences and I'm still in contact with them. One of the people/resources mentioned was Mike Wenger and I'm 99.9% sure that Cultish made the reference as a safe/good resource. I started listening to Mike whose YT videos helped answer a number of my questions. I still have a lot of healing and a long way to go, but I became a professing Christian on October 31, 2023. I'm so grateful for the work you are all doing... you ARE making a difference! You are all part of God's work of healing the brokenhearted and binding up their wounds - helping church trauma victims by acknowledging the abuse (and providing next steps for recovery) is so critical. Thank you for your labor of love and for ultimately pointing people to Christ and what holy leadership looks like in action.

When I first came to know the Lord, it was in a "non-denominational" church that loved Benny Hinn. As a baby Christian I trusted my pastor and thought Binny was great. It was when my dad (who was always a Christian) freaked out and had me watch American Gospel that I started to see. When I brought my concerns to my pastor, he told me I was being sinful by not having faith and that American Gospel was baptist propaganda. I left that church shortly after and have never gone back. I'm so thankful for God's guidance to apologetics and the Truth of the gospel

Yikes I go to a nondenominational church simply because we want to make sure we are beholden to the Bible rather than any human doctrine. And that's why we would NEVER teach Benny Hinn's blasphemy.
@Michael_Chandler_Keaton
@Michael_Chandler_Keaton 11 күн бұрын
@@ohifonlyx33Yeah, from the denominations; you're welcome. Men from denominations died so that we might have the Bible and be guided by it. Denominations are formed because good Christians disagree about doctrines that don't have the same level of clarity as the central tenets of the faith. The denominations exist because of much Biblical labor.
@ohifonlyx33
@ohifonlyx33 11 күн бұрын
@@Michael_Chandler_Keaton i didn't say i am opposed to denominations. I work at a Lutheran school for Pete's sake. You don't need to get all snippy. I'm very aware of history. Aware enough to realize that tradition and good intentions can become corrupted. I value a lot of traditions, but I hold to God's word FIRST. But I don't have any problem if a church has a denomination. Affliation and identification are good reasons to have a denomination. That's why I said that literally the ONLY reason I'm technically/barely nondenominational is because of 1 human issue. That doesn't mean i don't appreciate the ongoing work of saints. So maybe chill. I wasn't being hostile. If anything, I was pointing out one of the downsides of being nondenom and saying please don't think all nondenom are as bad as that one.

@@dreamysol I've seen family do worse to each other for less, so i've learned not base "truth" on things like that. I mean hello, Cain killed Abel because of his own insecurity - and you can't take that and say it was justified lol. BUT - the issue of fake healings, that's one I haven't heard, so I will look into that. Because I have no problem saying I don't know something, and being willing to find out. However, a false Gospel, I haven't heard him preach anything false in a while, but again, that's based on my relationship with the Lord and my own cross referencing when he teaches. That's my opinion, not fact. So i'm not saying what I'm thinking is truth. Again, I'm open to look and really listen to what he says. However, one thing I would like *kindly* suggest -- trying to explain something to someone and saying that by me believing something is the equivalent of me trying to silence a group of people, isn't going to generally get people to be willing to hear what you have to say. But thank you for pointing those things out. I appreciate it.

I first saw Benny on TV as a new teenage Christian almost 30 years ago. I would watch him pretty regular on TBN. I was discipled in a Biblically based solid church and I was reading my Bible all the time. So that helped me grow in my faith in a healthy way. I wish I could go back and watch him, I really don't remember him saying you will be blessed as a result of giving him money. I was a baby Christian so its likely I missed it. I also attended one of the arena meetings talked about. I remember him taking up only one offering and again my memory was he said "this is for the gospel" and also he talked about some charity he founded that he gives part of the money too. I would have been one of those who said he started out good and went off. I had no idea how nefarious he has been for soooo long. I gave up on defending him or following him about a decade a go, due to his extravagant lifestyle, that has been reinforced in my mind by listening to Costi on For the Gospel. But again I had no idea how bad it was and how deep his influence is. Thank you Mike for your work and thank you cultish for bringing this to the light.

This is so important--thank you! I went to a Benny Hinn meeting in San Jose in the late 90s and no one came up on the stage and said they were healed. After the meeting, the friend I went with said, "Wow, that was so powerful." I wondered if we had been at the same meeting. I just thought Benny Hinn had worked his magic on my friend. I was used to the Lord doing quite a few miraculous things in my life and in others, so I actually thought Benny Hinn was doing real healings. I didn't know about the money side of it, until years later when I heard about his lavish lifestyle. With all that has come out about Mike Bickle and now this, it seems the Lord is doing something for and in His Church.

What "Christianity" has been doing is not not love or wise. We've been "trained" in such a crooked manner. Sounds like your path is being made straight:) "And the LORD make you to increase and abound in love one toward another, and toward all men, even as we do toward you" 1 Thessalonians 3:12 "The coming of the lawless one is according to the working of Satan, with all power, signs, and lying wonders and with all unrighteous deception among those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved." 2 Thessalonians 2:9-10 @RambleChristianPodcast

And sadly, when it all goes wrong for some, and they do realise they've been decieved. There will be those that blame God rather than blame Benny Hinn, or others like him. And rather than taking some personal accountability in some cases. We all need to read the word of God for ourselves, so that we are not easily decieved. God bless you all.

I'm from East Germany, raised in a Christian home (Protestant) and after the Wall came down, Benny Hinn did crusades in our country that quickly led to spiritual disagreement in our fellowship. We didn't have language for it (like "prosperity gospel").

I'm from South Africa & have always been aware of other African cultures (who would mostly call themselves christians) be into things that aren't biblical. But I always assumed it had more to do with their culture beliefs & not religion beliefs. I would have never thought that Benny had that much influence on them if I didn't see Mike's video. I was shocked as many South Africans don't even know who Benny is. I think more people should be made aware of this. I work with people from different cultures every day and having knowledge on this would help a lot with our relationships with people who believe in these teachings.

Am I the only one that had red flags raised when Costi talked about Benny being effeminate. I sincerely hope we don't hear about abuse cases after he dies like we did after Ravi died. I remember seeing Benny rail against homosexuals in one video. It just seemed over the top hatred which is common for preachers to be hardest on people who are involved in the sin they themselves are enslaved to. So sad...

What an amazing collaboration!!! Praise God for faithful men like y'all! All of these prove that the Word of God is alive, the WORD OF GOD! Not the messenger. The messenger is DEAD IN HIS SINS! Regardless of what they say, God's living word will not come back void, he's faithful to what He's said! And He would use a rock if necessary. But pride keeps leading people to hell with the Bible in their hands. May God bring them all to Him 🙏🏾

My history has been crisscrossed by these teachers and I’ve always questioned why I couldn’t receive, let alone healing, but even a feeling of the anointing. I used to think it was me and God was moving on everyone but me. I’m guessing that’s a common response to think ‘everyone else gets in but me’. I appreciate seeing this, because it’s real affirmation that I’m not crazy or the odd one out.

25 years ago I attended Orlando Christian Center fully on board with everything Benny Hinn was selling. This was during his coat throwing times so lots of excitement and laughter as people were knocked down under the ‘power’. Well, he tossed his coat up into the choir and took out a dozen or so members. They just collapsed from the jacket touching them. Then one choir member picked the jacket up and tossed it back to Benny. He went down like a stone and the atmosphere instantly changed. Like the true God just showed up. Benny instantly confessed the error of playing with the ‘anointing’ and he sounded very contrite. Was it all staged? Maybe. But it started me thinking why Benny only considered it an affront to God because he was knocked down but not when he was knocking others down. That crack started my path out and I’m very thankful to the Lord for that. That Benny is still doing the same old tricks makes me very sad. I fear for him when he stands before Jesus and gives his account…

Jesus warned of many false, lying signs and wonders- people confuse them with the power of God- I mean what are they gonna do when the antichrist shows up calling down fire from heaven and raising the dead? Sadly, Revelation tells us exactly what they will do- they will be deceived.

In the early 90's when I was around 19 years old I was brought to a Benny Hinn crusade. I didn't like the way he looked or sounded. He had an accent that made it difficult for me to understand him. I had never heard of Benny Hinn or the term "slain in the Spirit." As I listened though, he was preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ and of the gift of the Holy Spirit which appealed strongly to me because these were the things I have been reading about in the scriptures during the past few months. Then we began worshipping the Lord and I had never experienced or seen that level of worship ever before (I was thinking "The Lord is real to these people!"). Then as we worshipped Jesus Christ Benny Hinn stated "when I say now, the Spirit will enter into this room." All of the sudden I began to see people in the front rows fall back into their seats as if an invisible hand was sweeping through the auditorium. As I saw this, I remembered my father telling me that all Preachers are fake and only want your money. I said to myself "if this is not of God then I want no part of this" and I planted my feet and strengthened my stance as the man in the row in front of me fell back into his seat. Suddenly without no human being touching me or laying a hand on me, an invisible force slammed into my chest knocking me into my chair and then onto the floor. I had tears streaming down my face and understood for the first time that the Lord and His Spirit were more real than anything in this world and that all the words of Jesus the Son of God were true (John 14:21). 30 plus years later I'm following closer to the Lord than when I first began. This was my experience at one of Benny Hinn's Crusades.

..wow, thats interesting... my thoughts are that Benny Hinn moves in power but not the Holy Spirit but you are saying that you followed closer to the lord after so it must have been the Lord... You mean you walked in love and obedience more, after this experience...

@@JuliexSteadman I'm not saying anything other than what I've written. I'm hearing so much about people's experiences at Benny Hinn's crusade so I decided to share mine. People are free to judge my encounter with the Spirit of the Lord as they choose. As for me, it's worth more than anything else this world has had to offer...even 30 plus years later.
