"Affiliates are no longer permitted to use Amazon web pages in their videos" TRANSLATION Amazon doesn't want people to know they happily allow dubious companies to promote and sell their products through their website. Amazon is like Disney. They preach about equality and human rights YET do business with China and other countries who are the VERY SAME countries who have spent over 50 years abusing and oppressing their people. The West is a hypocrite. If people KNEW what conditions workers from these countries work in and how their governments treat them? People would be ashamed buying their products.

Years ago when I was still new to the “style rabbit hole” I had bought a watch from The Fifth after seeing a video from RMRS the watch looked...fine but the original strap was itchy and unwearable. It wasn’t until much later I came across your channel exposing MVMT. That level of honesty really hooked me especially after you exposed The Fifth and Vincero (a brand I had really been interested in thanks to those bigger style channels). I definitely felt betrayed by Antonio and those other bigger channels to the point I stopped watching them entirely. I still have The Fifth watch mainly as a reminder that most “guru” types are usually just after their own interests. Without the OG Ben Arthur channel I’d probably have sunk a few hundred into a vincero watch and a pair of fancy dress shoes that don’t fit right.

The worst watch I ever saw was at Target, as part of their otherwise fine Goodfellow clothing line. The funny thing is they were also selling perfectly acceptable Timex watches right next to them.

Sorry you bought a rubish Fossil watch. My fossil is over 10 years old, bought on ebay for a fiver as the crystal was smashed, but on receipt I was blown away. Its a chrono, has a decent quartz movement, solid links as well as solid end links and a milled clasp. On seeing how beatiful it was i cleaned it up and bought a saphire crystal for it. Some manufacturers may originally bring out good watches and then cash in on their label, and some do it the other way round, who knows as I agreed with your review of that particular watch in any event. I love watches, but like most people I cant afford a 5k premium for a trumped up stainless steel brand. However i do appreciate good design and good value spec and the more people are made aware of the latter the better as most viewers are probably in my position or if not they're just kidding themselves . Watches aren't needs for very many people. They have very little utility in today's world. The way I see it, a watch is a fashion accessory or an investment piece. It can be both. If you don't have the money, or don't want to spend the money to buy an investment-level watch, then holding value isn't part of the equation. At that point just buy whatever watch you like best as a fashion accessory, and can easily afford. I don't see a middle ground when it comes to watches in today's world. It's either an investment or a fashion piece.

Hi Rohan. Anything with a Seiko NH35 or NH36 movement. Anything with an automatic Miyota movement mainly. I have a few. Steeldive is massive bang for your buck and is truly awesome. Try Addiesdive and Pagani Design. Watch other reviewers. Invicta get mixed reviews. I have a Corgeut James Bond watch Omega copy and a Pagani Design James Bond Omega copy. They are excellent. There are literally hundreds of submariner homages out there with many just rubbish. If you want to try a real cheapie you can get a Paulareis (daft name) homage Omega made of coated alloy with a Chinese automatic movement for under 20 quid from Ali Express. I've got about three of these including the Apollo 11 moon watch. They're bang on in terms of calibration. My Benyar "Rolex" Explorer was just over priced junk. Advertised as 316L stainless steel, it turned out to be coated alloy and couldn't keep time. Don't rule out watches with thr Chinese movements in them either. There's a lot of value if you know what to look for. Thet come with no real customer service or guarantees from AliExpress though. They could last 6 weeks, 6 months or 6 years and over. Servicing might be a future problem. Go for a Seiko or a Miyota movement and don't rule out the Chinese seagull movement. For up to 60 quid for a Steeldive you can get a really excellent quality watch. I have the Captain Willard. 👍

Hi Ben, I don't know how I've missed this "10 Worst" video, as I've been watching your channel for a couple of years. The reason for this comment is that you have such a GREAT, biting sense of humor that I found myself watching it twice. You are definitely funny when you want to be. I'm almost hesitant to mention this (especially on a public forum but...I too fell prey to the slick marketing schtick and lead on by an influencer which I've now come to realize is nothing more than a "Snake Oil Salesman" (for reasons in another venue.) Anyway the watch, and I use that term in the loosest sense, should go unnamed. Suffice to say it's the "Chrono" version of a brand that begins with the letter "V." I even tried to dress it up with steel bracelet to replace the cardboard strap masquerading as "Genuine Italian Leather" but it was just trying to put lipstick on a pig. I wound up wearing it only once in the two years that it has been in my watch box and no matter how I've tried, I just can't do it a second time. There, I feel somewhat better fessing up to the fact that I was duped. Keep up the good work which you do showing "The Good The Bad and (unfortunately) The Ugly" watches in this vast universe of personal time pieces. Cheers!

New subscriber to your channel Ben. Love your style of presenting . Many of these watches are truly shocking but to call out the Orient like that and suggest that watches from the 70s were crap is in my opinion disingenuous. The 70s was an amazing decade for watch design, I have built my whole collection (and some of my channel ) to the 70s. On the Orient as much as you think it’s hideous this type of design was made my Orient and Seiko along with others for the Asian and Middle Eastern regions, whilst not of the taste of the west they were extremely popular to these areas. Granted Orient could have picked a better model to reissue.

I remember a time when brand loyalty was a real thing to be proud of. A time when almost everything was built for performance and reliability. Today greed has taken over the business model and things are designed and built to fail after a certain amount of time and the scam called, supply and demand has become dominant in everything. It has become a sad and cutthroat world we live in. My 40-year-old furnace and central air conditioner, both of which has never broken down and still work like new, is proof of this. Great video showing the new business world of scams and cheap products produced only to extract the maximum amount of money from people.

the orient sk diver looks sick imo to be honest, a bit tacky but I thought the inside crystal bezel was sick, if only it was a real diving watch...

I am usually a big fan of Orient, but the SK "diver" made me wonder if they had been bought out by some awful company that wanted to destroy their brand. Cheap and Gaudy is the perfect description. Re: Vincero, the herpes of watch ads, it took me ages to stop the barrage of ads and videos trying to sell me one of their overpriced watches. I am afraid to say the word Vincero out loud in front of my phone, for fear of unleashing another assault of Vincero ads.

I found this video really interesting! It blows my mind how these companies will try and sell these crap watches and I find it deeply shameful but unsurprising that these 'Influencers' have no principles about promoting naff watch brands or watches to their audience.
