I am glad to see those over 40 and 50 are eating Vegan.... Not only did I make the change for my health, I did it after i saw what these poor animals go through prior to their slaughter. I hope that many more will see that eating a plant base diet is healthy and helps with longevity.

I made these patties using red split lentils as they are easier to digest and that's what I had on hand, I used only one teaspoon of oil and added a little bit more dark mushroom soy sauce and spices (curry -cumin and smoked paprika) they taste AMAZING, they are super cheap, filling, easy to make and full of iron and protein! thank you so much for these amazing recipes

Thank you so much for your videos. They are so helpfully to those of us attempting to transition to a healthier diet and lifestyle. Btw, if you're worried about the oil, try flax seed oil. hello. great ideas.. love this video..i heard if you stud a whole onion with whole cloves, and cut a turnip and put them into the lentils while it's cooking,, suppose too turn out very, very good.. I just cook mine with salt and some spices, or just plain with salt. vegan food is so colorful and pretty.
@elsalisa1467 жыл бұрын
Yes ! More bento boxes! Your food looks great and this is going to be a staple for me! And I don't really like lentils. Also from a health stand point oil and fat are not bad for you. Just make sure it's organic or non GMO. Can you do those great little salads that go with biminbop?
@deerinheadlights97847 жыл бұрын
Does anyone know if the bento 🍱 boxes are leak proof? There's too many to choose from on amazon, so I appreciate the recommendations- I like the idea of using those instead of mason jars like I normally use---I enjoy these meal prep ideas. Thanks -This one seems pretty simple, cheap, tasty, and nutritious. I may try the salad with Bok choy and the burger with red lentils, and sub the brown rice for white quinoa since that's what I have ✌🏽❤👍🏽
@CheapLazyVegan7 жыл бұрын
hmmm not sure if the ones that I used are leak proof - although the lids do seem to close very tightly!
@elsalisa1467 жыл бұрын
There are lots of options, look for some thing reusable, usually anything from Japan should be good.. You can put plastic wrap over the food then put on the lid,( but I don't like plastic), then put the lid on. Then I slip a fat rubber band over the box and put it in a big ziplock bag. :) good luck and your combo sounds great.

I watch and love all your videos! Just wondering, what is the research to suggest that oil, especially in small quantities, is bad for you? From what I understand healthy fats are useful and essential to a complete diet, and it's the refined carbs and sugars that actually cause problems!
@alexandrawruck57867 жыл бұрын
EatMyPonytail Dr Gregors site nutrition facts has lots of information on it. It's only fat in oil form. Avocado and nuts are still healthy. It has to do with oil slowing down blood vessel function
@yuame7 жыл бұрын
A wee bit of oil doesn't do harm, of course which kinds of it would matter.
@Narnendil7 жыл бұрын
Yes, good fats like extra virgin olive oil in small amounts is just good for you. Actually necessary for the human body to function properly.
@CheapLazyVegan7 жыл бұрын
fats are definitely essential! but many plant-based doctors suggest that oil is not good for you because it's a completely refined fat. I don't think it's bad to have a little oil though, but i think we as a society probably consume too much haha. Anyway, it is better to consume non-refined fats like avocados, nuts, seeds, etc.

Pretty sure the word you're looking for is "absorbed," as in the lentils soaked it up. Either that or "evaporated", meaning it boiled off. Water can't dissolve. It CAN dissolve things.

Oil isn't bad for us, it's great! Flax and canola oil have DHA/ALA in them when are vital for mental and heart health. Saturated and trans fats aren't very good, but the others are awesome in moderation!

when you meal prep, do you prep all parts of the day (breakfast, lunch, dinner) or just for one part of the day (I assume that this would be dinner)? my only issue with meal prep is that it would force you to eat the same for multiple consecutive days. isn't that hard? why do you do meal prep, to make sure you hit the right macros for you? or to save time? as you might guess, this is all new to me, but I'm thinking of doing this for my fitness goals. greetings, btw love your videos!! gochujang is now my new spice staple xd!
@CheapLazyVegan7 жыл бұрын
It depends on the meal prep! I very rarely meal prep for every single meal - although I have done that before. Sometimes, I just make extra meals so that I have stuff on hand for when I don't want to cook. I also like to freeze some stuff so that I don't necessarily have to eat the exact same thing for the whole week. You could make two different types of meals and alternate?
