Thank you for making this video. You just saved me several hundred dollars. I purchased my SS without the fence systems because I already had the Incra system. After speaking with SS Tech Support, they told me that the SS rails were required, but I could not see how to install the Incra with the SS rails. After your video, I ordered additional Incra mounting brackets and the 10 in cast iron spacer between the wings and the router table. Once again, well done with this informative video and thank you!

Thanks for the video. I enjoyed it! I had many problems with installation particularly getting the fence to slide smoothly. I contacted Incra and they said that the spacing between the rails and the surface of the saw was critical and they suggested instead of using the brackets, clamp a level across the saw and use a spacer between the rail and level to get the spacing exactly the same right around the saw. This worked perfectly and I can now move the fence with one finger. Also I used the existing Sawstop legs and they were easy to attach just sliding a bolt in the rail and finally using a tight fitting runner in the miter slot made it dead easy to align the fence with the slot by making sure the fence was in complete contact with the runner. I now absolutely love it!! Repeatable, accurate and fun to use.

@@bentswoodworking I forgot to say my other problem was the micro adjusting. It wasn't responsive enough. I used a dial indicator to check it and I'd move the red knob one click and no change on the dial indicator. I had to move it a few clicks before it changed but when I went in the opposite direction , no change at all. I contacted Mark at Incra again (his service is brilliant btw) and he sent me a video on how to adjust that knob. There is a hex bolt on the very end of the arm. Adjusting that to be slightly more snug gave exactly the results I was looking for. One click forward gave 0.05mm (metric version or a thou imperial version) and one click back also gave 0.05mm. I hope this helps someone

I have owned the Incra extended fence, just like yours, for 5 years. It’s attached to my Inca 2200 Cabinet Saw (Incra on an Inca) and it is as sweet a setup as can be, but the installation was a nightmare. The original Swiss Inca fence, did not attach to the front of the table but underneath the front and rear edges, so I had to drill and tap the mounting holes which were complicated by the fact that the edges of this cast iron table were somewhat rounded, which meant that I had to shim the top and bottom so that the mounting brackets would sit square. It took me 3 days to install the Incra fence, partly because of all the rest breaks I had to take since I am in my seventies. But, am still glad I got this great fence. Thanks for your detailed video.

I installed my Incra fence on a SawStop over a year ago and ran into all kinds of trouble. Unlike you, I didn't catch the issue with the provided hardware not being capatible with the SawStop and ended up stripping the machined holes. I spoke with Incra as I was super upset over it. They provided some solutions for me which I was not 100% happy with but I needed some kind of solutions. Thanks for posting and the insight, I recently moved and going to redo the install and use some of your pointers.

I’ve got the same setup and randomly searched incra fence install and this popped up. I’m re-installing tomorrow. You need extra brackets for the extension table. The sawstop fence helps the wings from bowing so you may need to shim your wings. It’s a great fence but my first time setting it up took almost a week of calibration here and there and waiting for the brackets

I've had this set up on a Bosch jobsite table saw for some time now. I will be transferring my fence to my Sawstop when I get it at Christmas. One thing you can do (that has no bearing on any saw that it's installed to) is replace the rear support bracket screw with a knob. I use a Rockler 4 star knob. I forget if its 1/4 or 5/16 bolt, but at least you wouldn't have to use the included ball end hex driver anymore to tighten that down.. Just a friendly tip

I have the TS LS wonder fence combo and it is on a Ridged 4512 Table saw! Yes the fence is better than the saw! At least more expensive! And this fence works very well for me. I had no issues setting the incra system up on this saw. And I will say as a former installer of CNC metal machining centers. I am pretty persnickety about tolerance! I use dial indicators to align my blade to the miter slots but not with a saw blade a calibrated arbor plate. After that I align the fence parallel to the calibrated plate. I can cut 4 quarter walnut on this saw at 4 and 1/32 inches at 8 foot and that is what I get all long the board.. it is all about proper calibration. As for Customer Service! Neil is who I worked with on one issue, and resolved it short order! 😁🛫

I've had my Sawstop and Incra fence for about 5 years now and love them both. I ordered saw and Incra about the same time period. I ordered Industrial, because I knew that I would not need the rails, fence etc (at that point in time it was possible to just order the saw, without the rails etc., this option was only available on the industrial model). My rails are 8 or 9" to the right of the blade and I did a shop-built extension table. My Jensen feed rollers, allow me use the T-slot on the side of the fence. I use then also on my Powermatic shaper and the Incra fence on my router table. I share this information; in case you are just starting to go with the Sawstop and Incra combination. I tend to be detailed ordinated and love the micro adjustment on the fence, it lets me dial the fit perfectly. If you are the type of woodworker, who thinks "close enough" is good, then you might not appreciate the Incra Fence system.

I love my incra fence. It has been part of my shop for close to 15 years now. It is the one thing in my shop I have never regretted buying. One tip for folks. I bought the 52" version, but don't have room in my shop for the extra rails. The folks up at Incra gave me an awesome tip. I have two settings/stops. When I need to cut things over about 30" or use the Wonderfence, I loosen the two front screws and move it to the furthest stop. Using one of the secondary scales, you have your new mark. I keep board cut at exactly 20" around to ensure my secondary measurement is accurate. It still sticks out on the right, but it's way more manageable.

9:20... wow, they really don't want that rail moving! Great video and tips on the process. Its a shame Jessem's adapter does not set the guides back further so they fold fully out of the way... another 3/4 to 1" of offset would probably do the trick. I love my stock guides... best upgrade to my saw. IMHO... Nice fence system, but too clumsy and consumes way too much space for my taste/use. I created a custom micro-adjuster for my Delta 36-T30 fence and use additional stop blocks, all easily moved & removed (when desired) to greatly improve my cuts.... both dialing it in and setup for repeat cuts.

Watched both your videos on the Incra fence. Seems like an excellent design for accuracy and repeat ability....but. 1) You can't position the fence on the other side of the blade and 2) like you say, it sticks out to the right a long way, and 3). You can't use your favorite style of fence..ie Bessimer style or your jigs that saddle the fence. All this could be solved if they mounted the screw and adjusting clamp along the front of the saw with a T-style fence, ( Mounting the the screw in a fixed position and making the clamp slide) I'm tempted to buy one and modify it to mount like that. I see their point of mounting the sliding arm just opposite of the blade for best accuracy, but you give up a lot for a negligible difference.

I have had mine for since 1999. I orignally had the TS version and then upgraded to the LS. I have wonderfence as well. The one thing i think they should have done and I have contacted Incra about it was to possibly magnify the window where you read your measurement. I ended up get a page magnifier that lays right on top. Works great. However, I recently purchase these new magnifiers with the small monitor. I was going to retrofit that right over the measure window. As i have gotten older my reading vision has weakened. this setup i believe will magnify it and more importantly i dont have to hover over it. I just have to figure a way to prevent the fine sawdust from getting under the window. its just a great fence.

Nice! I recently 'upgraded' my TS-LS to metric, and went thru and re-aligned things since I had it tore apart. Added the WonderFence, and found out the hard way that the high stock supports for that don't actually attach to the WonderFence, but to the top of the TS-LS fence - which is where my Jessem stock guide rail sits. My Jessem guides came with the adapter plates for the Incra fence (probably ordered them that way back when), but I don't think I ever had any issue with the vertical clearance problem that you mentioned - at least not if I flipped them up and all the way in. Maybe I have the Jessem rail offset the other way? Anywho, love seeing more Incra videos out there.

Sometimes I think even a slightly complicated install is like a litmus test. If you're not mechanically inclined and can't put it together, you ought not be using it. But I think there's enough SawStops that Incra could create a "Sawstop pack" for easier installation.

Easy thing to do on the JessEm stock guides to keep them out of the way when not needed but keep them on the saw for quick set up is to just remove the bar and put it in backwards and have the rollers pointing to the back side of the fence. Takes 5 seconds and your back in business to swap them around.

Question: Other than to use to attach the folding outfeed table, why did you run the rails all the way to the left end of the saw? It seems to me that you could have just slid them to the right (albeit with a shorter rail set) and set them with only three (or at most 4) angle supports. Also, you are the not the only person who has tried to attach a rail and level it only to find out that you didn't slide the retaining nut, but under. Lastly, I know you don't have the space for it there, but if you ever do, then extending out the added table on the right side to allow for a router insert and pushing the rails out all the way to the right allows you to use the Incra as a router table fence.

I used your recommendation and purchased another set of the brackets (also second set of the saddle since the first set has the plastic runners on them when I had this fence on my old Grizzly saw and the runner threw off the spacing for the rails on the SawStop). One question I have is in regards to the SawStop's built in set screw on the extension table. Did you put that back in with the Incra fence? My issue is if I put the set screw in, it changes the level of the extension table such that I can't get it to be even with the cast iron. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

I don't plan to buy one but watched the video great job. I would love to know your thoughts about the advantages of using this compared to the regular fence. I do cabinet making on my table saw with my son (2 person operation so far) and we are fine with an old Grizzly with a regular fence but would love to know your thoughts on benefits.

For me the biggest benefit is the guaranteed repeatability. Also the ability to dial in a dado/groove with such precision.

Thanks for this video! I have much enjoyed TS-LS for 10 years on a Grizzly, and am about to order a Saw Stop ICS with 52" extension and router table on the left. I see the TS-LS (I'll need the XL version for the 30" deep ICS table top) has 92" rails. I plan to order without the Saw Stop rails, but I am concerned that these long angle brackets/rails which you removed might be part of what helps keep the whole top flat? It would be great to do it the way you have, looks much cleaner. Did you check with Saw Stop on this? On a separate note, I have the imperial version, and am thinking of getting the the metric for the new saw. I will be locate the Saw Stop back to back with a long-rail Grizzly G1023L. Do you have any thoughts on metric? I grew up in New Zealand we went metric in 1969 when I was 13, but have lived in California for 40+ years. I am familiar with both imperial and metric, but am concerned that having a metric LS-TS will drive me nuts due to being so comfortable with the imperial LS-TS.

I did not consult with sawstop about the incra fence. The rails seem to hold it just fine.

@@bentswoodworking I have begun installing the Incra fence, but I cannot for the life of me figure out how to make it work with the black extension table. The holes on the side are on a lower plane than those on the cast iron wings. I've about given up. I live in the Philly area - know anyone in the area who could come help with the setup? I'd gladly pay! If not, I'm considering getting rid of the extension table and adding a couple more of the cast iron wings. Thoughts? Thanks again.

Great video. Thanks for sharing. I learned a lot I would have used during my install. If you are interested, I used a 4" piece of aluminum to attach my overhead dust collection and outfeed table. I posted about it on FB in the SawStop group. Feel free to search for it on there. I had posted a link, but my comment was deleted.

@@chloedogable Sorry. I should have thought of that. I’ll paste my post here and follow up w/ a couple of pictures: My greatest fear when I ordered my Incra TS-LS Combo for my SawStop table saw/router table was that I wasn't going to be able to figure out how to mount the out-feed table and overarm dust collection. I had emailed Incra and searched this list w/ no luck. I figured it out. I ordered two 1/4"X4"X36" sheets of aluminum ($57 incl. shipping), cut the pieces to fit between my outer and middle Incra rails, got some wide head 3/8-16 bolts w/ wide heads, and went to town! Drilled mounting holes 3" in from the ends for support and made sure they positioned the aluminum JUST short of interfering w/ the tightening handles for the Incra. The outfeed table was perfectly aligned w/out any shims. I'm very happy. I probably overdid it w/ the pictures, but I wanted to make this super easy for anyone facing this challenge. I got the aluminum at MidwestSteelSupply.com. Ordering 2 @ 36" instead of 1 @ 72" saved me $40 in shipping. I got the bolts and nuts at Lowes. Drilled the holes at 250rpm and cut the aluminum on my SawStop w/ the bypass on using an Infinity Tools 10-380 special material blade. Reach out if you have questions. (I later added that because I flip it to use my right-side router table, I had to replace the black-handled lock-down bolts w/ regular bolts that I tighten and loosen w/ a 9/16” wrench.)

@@michaeldorman Watched the previous video and I do not understand the need for machine shop precision in woodworking. Wood is a very dynamic medium that moves with temperature and humidity. I applaud the woodworkers who work with these tight tolerances because as long as they are making sawdust and being creative the art continues.

I am looking at adding one to my saw as well, the work I do does require precision of plus or minus 1/32nd, so the need for precision and repeatability is solved with a fence like this

I appreciate the helpful video for those who want this system but I just don’t see the benefit. You have to pay a ridiculous amount for the system, spend hours taking a fantastic saw apart and installing this complicated monstrosity on your saw, then you even made a detailed installation video for them. I know they appreciate that. Or should. Like someone else said below, they should give you the system and pay you for making the training video for them. Not me but thanks again for helping others.

I watched because I was considering an Incra, but went with a VerySuperCoolTools fence instead. One thing that struck me is all the extra cash you had to throw at the problem after the initial purchase. That sort of thing really makes me dislike/distrust a product.

The reason I watched the video is "WHY" , and you never told us why. You have $4,000 table saw and you just spent another $1,500 to upgrade the fence. I have a much cheaper table saw and the fence is dead on all the time. Is Sawstop that bad?
