Awesome! PLEASE keep updating us on these projects! I know it's easy to think that the follow ups are boring for us, but trust me they are not. Great video Pete.

The act of watching someone work hard making you feel like you’re working hard while sitting and doing nothing is so satisfying.

I like watching this progress on this project. I enjoy the “danger shots” the go pros and cameras get out in lol. I’m surprised they havnt let you sod cut a spot over by the bleachers and move it to cover those big empty spots. Good work Pete, god bless

Back in the middle of 2020 when the world went into quarantine, I started renovating from a fescue front lawn to total bermuda (I already had bermuda on the sides and back. After trying several seeding projects, I have found that sprigging and plugging are the best strategies for me because I can only irrigate using hoses with a timer. I am on a well, so I have to be somewhat conservative. I have pre-germinated some seed as well as grew it in from the ground but for some reason the brand I purchased online from the Home Depot (Barenbrug Transcon Bermuda) did really well but did NOT come back the following spring. However through sprigging and plugging from other parts of my yard this year, I am about 78% complete with 60-days of growing season remaining. Wish me luck. I can't tell you how important a soil test is because until this year, I hadn't had one done in several years. The test came back with ultra lime deficiencies (I needed 68 bags) as well some other needs. It instantly reminded me of what Pete always says, "Gotta getcha dirt right." Once I addressed these issues, my grass started to take off like crazy...plus I've been using 46-0-0 (from Southern States) every 7-10 days when we have pending rain when no rain in the forecast I would just put nitrogen on the bare areas where I am using the sprinklers. When I get to 100% coverage, I will need to figure out how to separate some common bermuda from the hybrid as well as some St. Augustine that has parachuted from the skies from where I have no idea and is trying to compete on one the side.

@@GCITurfspeaking of the pro plugger, I have a question for you please. I really need an answer to this. I am pulling some hybrid plugs of Bermuda from my yard and plugging them into the areas of the common Bermuda. Hoping to get the hybrid to take over the common. Will the hybrid dominate, or will the common dominate?
@GCITurf Жыл бұрын
@@sidneywhitaker9972 I highly doubt either will dominate
@sidneywhitaker9972 Жыл бұрын
@@GCITurf thanks for the response. Trying to get the entire lawn covered with the hybrid. It’s about 60% hybrid, and 40% common, and you can certainly tell the difference.

@GCITurf - Pete what's the fert you're putting down to help it grow in? What's the application rate? I've got some thin spots I am struggling with also.
