My settings are according to book but it draws up as I stitch. If I stretch it, part of the stitching comes loose b

Are you sure that the differential feed setting isn't too high... pulling in more fabric than it can handle.. Then at the end, when you stretch it, the needle threads tails are too short and the stitch comes apart?

Hello J Stern Designs :) this is a great explanation. I just bought a Bernina l460 that is in great condition. What is the triangle symbol (Rolled hem lever) ? what is differential feed?

Sadly I had to give this serger back to my friend who let me borrow it to make a series of videos. Is the triangle you're talking about over on the right front near the hand wheel? If so, that is to indicate that the needle is in the right spot for the threader. If there is a different triangle, I couldn't find it in the manual to tell you what it's for. i just got a bernina l460 for Christmas but was surprised to learn it doesn't do a stretchy hem for knit fabrics. can you tell me if there's a stitch i can use instead? i am brand new to all this.

Congratulations on your new Bernina Serger! You will love it. You are right though... there isn't a Cover Hem stitch. Good News, I have a decorative technique called "the Not So Blind-Blind Hem" that you can do using a 3-Thread Wide Reverse Flatlock Stitch. Stay Tuned, I'll do a video tutorial showing how. (Unfortunately, I had to give the Bernina back to my friend who let me borrow it... So I'll show you on my Baby Lock Ovation, different brand, but you can get the same results!) Stay Tuned

Hello! My UL converter just got disengaged and i think bent more - that caused havoc to all stitches i am trying to pass through - all is wrong now :(

I have tried everything from the manual and from your video, rethreaded etc, and the stitch does not stretch!

Hi Esther, I'm sorry you're having trouble! I don't think it's the stitch.... Every now and then I encounter a knit fabric that is not happy to cooperate. Try the 4-Thread Stitch on the same knit to see if that seam stretches. ...I'm going to go digging in my knits pile and try to find one that's "stretch resistant" and trouble shoot the problem... stay tuned

@@JSternDesigns thanks for the response. I’ll try the 4 thread. I tried keeping the fabric a little stretched as I was overlocking and it was a little better but definitely no “super stretch” which was disappointing. Love the machine though.
