Berserk Boy has honestly been one of my favorite games i have played recently. I’ve been working on beating every level taking no damage for the heck of it.

I saw a mini interview with the developer and he said he was a genesis kid, and the game took inspiration from rocket knight and pulseman. Of course mega man and sonic too but mainly Sega Genesis games. Also great video, we miss you here even if it's not to talk about Megaman.

The idea of a Metroidvania thats speed-focused and takes cues from some of my favorite MM games sounds like the perfect combination, how have I not heard of this game before!? The gameplay footage youve shown was already enough to sell me on it, but what youve said really seals the deal. 6:50 I certainly know that feeling. I personally haven't tried out many Mega-likes (No, I don't have a better name) there aren't that many that interest me tbh, there's Gunvolt, and I have heard good things about Gravity Circuit, (I don't think Shovel Knight is close enough to be considered a Mega-Like if you were thinking of that game) but that's pretty much it, I'll say this vid did get me sorta interested to play this game though, I do wonder, does it have a New Game+? I love it when those included, and that would also give more credence to the extra skills being expensive.

I think they took queues from DMC here with how the form swapping and chain system works too. I wonder if that's what the devs modelled the shop pricing on because I felt the same about DMC3: SE and DMC4. Game looks awesome though.

Looks very fun. Last Megaman like I played was Gravity Circuit personally I had so much fun with it that if it was a official Megaman game it would be a big contender for best one.

Speaking about Berserk Boy I remember a composer that I know who is currently making soundtracks for this game not to mention that he's the same person who made soundtracks of Gravity Guy 1 and 2 and it's Andrew DNG Gomes, great composer. Berserk Boy looks like a good Megaman game to me to all I know.

Highly recommend checking out Gravity Circuit if you get the chance, the X and Zero vibes to that game are off the charts. If it weren't for Sea of Stars coming out last year, that would have been GOTY for me

My favorite megaman - like - game lately has been gravity circuit. it's moveset was so refreshing and the patterns of the bosses were so punishing that I actually *gasp* had to grind the learn the moveset for the final boss for a couple hours. Gunvolt could never.

So does this game have an NG+ mode? With the expensive prices for upgrades I'd at least hope NG+ is something the devs considered to add. The idea of doing a new game with all your gear from the start is something I always like to consider.

I do like a longer megaman game, like the zx's, so hearing that the stages are long is nice. How many are there? Also, how gimmicky or unique are the stages? Because I like really distinct levels, including if they have a distinct gimmick or setpiece. Also, how much does the metroid aspect influence it?, because having played quite a few metroidvanias, very frequently I'll get lost and bored and not want to go back. Not a total deal-breaker, i beat hollow knight, but I'm struggling to go on Castlevania GBA collection or Pseudoregalia.

*My apologise for someone who loves Berserk Boy's gameplay,music,etc... Actually, Gravity Circuit is better than that shit The game control is suck, I can't even punch downward normally, still too complicated for me because I always lost my brain ,the movement speed feels like Gunvolt games, not like Mega Man games at all The UI is still very bad for me, just like the trash game on the internet The music is good, but not good enough (because I love metal music and 80s,90s music) And if you want to find a good 2d platfomer game, at least check the music composer (Dominic Ninmark is my favorite)
