i always thought taniguchi is a superior driver. DK's and Orido's fame and characters outshine nobu's real skills in the eyes of the viewers, i think

Those 3 have different strenght and weakness. DK is the most careful driver and can drive all manner layout. FF FR MR. And a sore loser and behave like a monkey accidently ate chili sometimes. Max not as good with FF compared with the other2 but better than DK and Nob when it comes to monster power output FR. Nobu is a genius and cool cucumber in the middle bunch. Nob behave like Ryo Takahashi. DK is takumi, max is kei takahashi.
but its much more difficult. you will break down your car within the first 10 minutes if you try to drive like they do, but then again, you will be able to drift your car after 1 week practice.

Interesting to see the difference in driving styles between nob and DK, notice how Tanaguchi is trail braking into the 1st section before the hairpin. while DK let’s the car rotate naturally.

He can have won in the s2k but looks like something was wrong with LSD the car wanted to slide every turn. You can see how he had to lift off the throttle a lot.

Mazda rear suspension structure is totally different design. Look like biplane chassis suspension where the spring sit on another under chassis instead of doublewish bone. So no suprise there the stability is legendary.

Why didn't they do a second heat? Without the FD's huge straight line advantage at the start it would've been a much closer battle. The MRS did put in the fastest sector time after all.

+zpe1200 The FD pulled on the straight but after that the gap remained more or less the same other than the FD pulling a little more in the final sector before Nob's mistake. I'm not saying the FD would lose but it still would've been a battle worth seeing. Also, I don't think Orido wouldn't not do another battle unless he had some pre-existing injury that the car was stressing, I don't know the details of it though.

MR_S was clinical but the driver didnt rev out at the start to redline or had the confidence in himself after putting up the best time. To think if it only had more 225 rears, a HKS supercharger like the S2000 did ubber 70hp extra on that 2zz would destroy them all.

Perhaps the lateral g-force during cornering pinned him on the side (cage or bucket seat) resulting bumps or bruises on the ribs

I think they should include the whole course that is used for battles when they measure the sector time. Currently the sector time can only show a car's handling, but it doesn't show the car's speed in the high speed section. This is why the MR-S had the best sector time, because its handling is clearly superior to everyone else. But in the battles, it lost badly due to its lack of straight line speed, as shown in the high speed section. In fact, had they include the high speed section into the sector time as well, the MR-S would not even come close to the top.

Pretty sure ever since the MR-S was new people wanted to throw the 2ZZ in there because it made sense. Especially since the Lotus equivalent at the time had a 2ZZ in it.

2zz is based on the 1zz(stock mr-s engine), it's an easy and straightforward swap. That engine was meant to be in the MR-S, biggest mysteries is why there wasn't a factory 2zz version.

This White S2000 drivers are mediocre. They should drive it exactly at the middle of the road and won't lose. Don't suck the gutter pls.
