Hi Sam great video, I just inherited a very low hours 2024 WR450F. Problem is I have only ridden a TTR250 for a few months on trails and that was over 20 years ago. I’m struggling to find a bike to build my skill up before trying to ride the 450, the issue is I’m 6’5 290. I need something tall and a little challenging to make my transition to the 450 easier without spending a lot of money on something like a 2020 WR250. I’m booked in to do lessons in a couple of weeks which will help a lot. I’m only doing trail riding. Cheers

Lessons will help you control the bike no matter the CC size! Great call. the WR450F is a solid bike and can be ridden slow, take your time and master body positioning and clutch control! No need to buy another bike

After more than 20 years off a motorcycle and getting back into dirt bikes I bought an older, quite heavy dual sport. Once I started riding singletrack I quickly realized not just how much more work it was to ride do to it's weight but also due to poor suspension. I bought a new Beta 300 two stroke and it opened a whole new world for me. As tame as a 4 stroke trail bike if you want it to be but also has tons of power when you need it. The map switches on some of the newer bikes help to tame the beast somewhat but the biggest advantage I noticed right away was the light weight and handling characteristics of the two stroke. Paired with a great modern suspension made it easier for me to learn and improve. Impossible to "grow out of" as 99.999% of us regardless of how good we think we are will never tap into the full potential of these bikes. Watch some hard enduro races and you'll see why. (Red Bull hard Enduro series, Erzberg , Tennessee knock out and Grinding stone just to name a few)

Yeah it’s hard for me to give all the options for those just getting started my first bike was a CRF250x and it’s too heavy and slow, beta 200 or 300 are so much easier and forgiving to ride slow

My first bike was a 2011 TTR230 and my current bike is a 2003 RM125, I had a few bikes of all striped in-between, but so far my favorite is the RM, I did a bit of a light Enduro Mods on it, and made it more woods friendly, but ultimately I want a Husqvarna TC300 or a Yamaha 250X, but a new bike won't be in the cards for another year! great channel just subbed btw!

I have a buddy that rides a ttr230. Great bike for a beginner but I'd say they are out grown fast! Great video!

For sure it’s tough as there are lots of variables as well like we’re you going to ride the most? Your wife’s KLX is probably the best option for the air cooled bikes but I forgot about it haha when I did this video

Hello, I am a beginner and live in Germany. Unfortunately, you are only allowed to drive on closed routes or on your own property. Can you also drive well with the Beta 200rr on the motocross track? Which Enduro can you recommend for a beginner who doesn't yet know what he wants to do? Thanks

yes you can ride a Beta 200RR on a motocross track. Thats a great bike or a KTM150XCW

@@dirtbikesam Trails mostly, but I don't know how hard they will be. Nothing advanced but I wouldn't mind having good torque down low so I can go slow over the trickier parts. 🙂

Yeah a 300 2-stroke is the best trail bike/hard enduro bike on the market. Yeah even though it’s a powerful bike you really can lug on them

You can but the suspension is a bit rough and the gearing means you have to ride the clutch more.

@@dirtbikesam Awesome video - just blew my ears off when the music kicked in :). I did my first enduro event, riding in an easy class with my DRZ400, which has me thinking about a more suitable bike for single track and enduro challenges.
