on too much green: i have green hair and use green as a "neutral" in a lot of my clothes. i feel like green is a natural colour that kind of goes with everything, probably because i correlate green with trees and grass

I love the way you approach the information you learned from your color analysis! It's nice to see that it really doesn't need to be as prescriptive as sometimes people make it out to be. I like that you see it as just extra info, because it's just clothes, it's not that serious, and we can all just have fun and wear what we want! ETA: I think I want to get my color analysis done eventually, but right now I don't feel the need to invest in that. If/when I'm getting married one day, I'd probably want to get my colors done before that to have some more information to pick the best colors for my wedding outfits. I'm very indecisive, so having some more parameters for a big decision like that feels helpful, but for right now I'm happy just buying the clothes and colors I like.

As far as color analysis "trend" goes, I think it can only be the Hot New Thing every generation or so, but it's a real concept, so I don't think it's easily dismissed completely. I got my colors "done" way back in the 80's. I have never forgotten some of the guidelines I learned for my season (also spring). For instance, I never understood why black or white never looked good on me. They're supposed to be basics, right? The color analysis was a giant "aha" for me that's lasted a lifetime. Do I still compare my clothes to the color swatches? No. But I really appreciate having a basic understanding of clothing color theory.

Just as an fyi: colours don't have to match exactly to your colourfan! There are so much more shades in the world then could ever be in a fan, as long as they look harmonious with it, you're good. And there are definitely spring pastels too! Also, maybe you could shorten that corally pink vest top if you wanted to give it another chance? I've had my colour analysis as well in the past year (am a cool winter) and it just made sense with those being most of the colours I've always been drawn too and it has made my life easier tbh, I now just don't bother with the obviously warm colours anymore and only wear cool and (mostly) bright colours and maybe some that are a little more neutral, that I still like and don't wanna get rid of just because.

re that spring purple that you thought was summer - you're right that there's more white in it & therefore it's lighter, but that doesn't make it cool (otherwise there'd be no winter, the cool and dark season !). cool colours have more blue, not white. the light seasons are summer AND spring, with spring being more saturated (bright, clear, pure colours) and summer being more muted/soft (colours with more grey). that purple is light but it's certainly not a soft, dusty pastel. lightness/darkness (added white or black) is a different axis from coolness/warmness (added blue or yellow) which is a different axis from softness/brightness (added grey or pure colours) ! hope this helps :D

2:15 I would call that teal. It's an in between colour which looks okay on most people but isn't many people's best colour. It's similar to the deep turquoise in your spring palet, but it's got a little bit black in it so it's not fully a spring colour but it's close enough to still look reasonably good on you and to co cordinate with true spring colours. 4:40 I think that's more spring becuase of the blue, but it would look okay on an autumn too 5:30 Kettlewell is great! Their prices are quite high but part of that cost is their commitment to ethical production. If you go to the colours section of their website, you can filter by two different factors. For Hannah, I would reccommend filtering by both "spring" and "warm" at the same time, which will give you a narrower palet with an emphasis towards the warm end of spring. I think those are your best colours and would feel more comfortable for you than the clear end of spring. 6:37 That's a spring/summer crossover colour. It's towards the cool end of spring and towards the warm end of summer. It has white in it, which makes it soft enough for summers but it doesn't have any black in it, so it's not muted and still looks good on springs. 8:22 Yes! A spring pink! Warm and very bright 9:22 That mustard is an autumn colour, but it looks great on you because you're a warm spring. For you, the warmness of the colour is much more important that it being clear. 10:50 Coral orange! Classic spring

I would call the colour of your blouse from the start a petrol. Regarding colour analysis - I think I remember your analyst saying something along the lines of Springs being able to borrow from autumns. So you looking good in it makes a lot of sense. Petrol is still very warm to me, it has some yellow in it! I still don’t know my season. I’m oscillating between dark winter and dark autumn, so I settled with dark something and so far, it works great. Colour analysis isn’t really an exact science anyway, so I feel like - if a colour makes you happy - wear it! In my experience, many people naturally gravitate towards colours that suit them, and you also gravitated towards a lot of these colours even before you were analysed. You can trust yourself with your choices!

I love your clothing choices! I’m so sick of channels with people trying to look “elegant” and “wealthy” or trying to channel Coco Chanel or Audrey Hepburn, not the way the majority of us live or even want to live. I so appreciate the real clothes and life you have. If I see one more capsule wardrobe full of black and beige or white, with boring muted blue, with tailored blazers and Steve Jobs turtle necks, I may scream 😂 I’d love to shop at Kettlewell, but they don’t have plus sizes. I’m losing weight, however, so maybe can try them soon. I like how you’re not as technical and prescriptive with the colors as it’s so hard to find EXACTLY matches even if you have them down to the hex codes. The yellow dress looks amazing on you!

I think the coral pink you're showing us is a bright spring/bright winter one, the kind that would absolutely match Sophie Ellis Bextor for instance. I bet you'd look awesome in peach fuzz/salmon and rose tea kind of pinks! Usually the orangey pinks are gorgeous on light and/or warm springs. Tawn/camel might be among your absolute best neutrals: you need warmth and maybe this shade of ecru is a little too pale. You can try sand instead! The first blue you're showing is typically an autumn blue (a duck/teal blue). Spring blues are turquoise, aqua, seafoam and purplish/bright navy. You can associate your beautiful wisteria purple with orange for a bold 60's/70's look!

I've had my colours done 6 months ago, where I was analysed as a True/Cool Summer! it has really helped me. Especially with make up, I feel like sticking to extremely cool colours has made me look a lot more awake than the neutral leaning make up I did before. Wardrobe wise, it has been more mixed. Because on the one hand it has been great to see that colour analysis does work and that the Cool Summer colours do look better on me, but then I have all these clothes that don't fit these colours and knowing that they're not great for me makes me reach for them less. Which is a little sad too, since they are comfy. So I think I still have to accept that it's totally fine to not always be in your perfect colours - just now that I KNOW I can't completely block it out when I do wear, let's say, a yellow dress, warm red jumper or black tshirt.

I have done an color Analysis and i am a True Autumn but i made it when it was needed to declutter my old clothes, because after giving birth i've gained and lost some weight and never gotten back to my old slim days! I would recommend to do this when you are ready to gradualy change your clothes, but off course you don't need to be so strict in choosing your perfect colors , there are multiple variations of shades of same color and many people go very literal with this Trend! 😊 I've learned that i want to spend my money for things that suits me well, i've hated black, pastels, pinks ( even blushes) and very grey toned clothes on me all my life , so this Analysis actualy confirmed what i have felt was wright !

I think that it is important to know what colour season you are, not necessarily the depth or lightness, at least for me. My whole family is cool, but we are different shades of cool, i'm more teal, my sister is more baby blue, and my mom is more navy. It's fascinating to see how the colours interact with the skin. But just knowing that I am a summer, made me open my wardrobe to more than just black, and I feel like I look younger and more lively when I wear a top that has colour in it. In case anyone is curious, I spent quite a few years moving from country to country, and had a massive wardrobe to choose from, I went with black, simply because I couldn't take everything with me! It was definitely a wonderful choice, and I fit in every place I went, in a clean sophisticated way. But I do enjoy the feeling of adding a bit of fun or warmth to my casual wear these days, even if I love to make it edgy with my black companion pieces! Also!! Living in one colour, makes a person really appreciate textures and combining them, such as leather, chiffon, denim, knits, metallics, cotton, polyester, metals, it is such fun! Now just add colour! and we got a fully developed personal style

I had my colour analysis done just about 2 years ago and it has made such a huge difference for me! I used to buy clothes because I liked how they looked in a picture or I liked the style and then would never wear them because they just didn’t feel like me. Now I double check if it is in my colours and if it isn’t in my colours I have a rule that I have to try it on, take photos in different lighting, and send it to my bestie for her honest opinion. This way I’m not totally limiting myself to only my colours, but I am being a more cautious consumer.

This was really interesting, even though I'm not really interested in getting my colours done, my wardrobe is pretty neutral with minimal pattern and I am good with that. I think the cream jacket is the fit, it is more oversize than the other 2 and so doesn't give you the silhouette you like. It might work better undone with a tighter knit under it. I also quite like the Ganni skirt, when you held it up next to striped top you were wearing I could see these 2 going together.

I never ended up getting a professional color analysis but I did end up coming to the conclusion that I'm probably a summer and not a winter, as I thought for a very long time. I still think about color and I still choose cool colors and I'm embracing muted colors and greys. But I'm also thinking about color from different angles, not just what colors supposedly suit me but also how different colors go together and what effect they create.

I was super inspired by your colour analysis, I can't figure out if I believe it or not, but I like it as a way to challenge which colours will suit me. Love your fashion content, it has inspired me a lot. Being plus size gives very limited options and for me very muted clothes. Being in love with bright rainbow colours, I'm trying to ad more of those into my wardrobe. I have purchased a pair of very colourfull Lucy and yak troussers and I'm getting more and more comfortable wearing them and I believe it is in part because of you :)

My husband is a winter, and I think that the pink trousers are winter. I think you light up in BRIGHT and CLEAR. While some things may match your fan, the BRIGHT ones are probably better. (The purple/lavender looks like a good match to your fan, but in the full body shots, you don't light up in the same was as with the bright green, for example.). It's great to treat it as a learning experience. When I started focusing on buying clothes in palette, I forgot to think about fit.

I know enough colpur theory to know I lean dark autumn and into the edges of winter. Just not proper autumn or true winter where all the colours I love sit. Red! You will be mine. So I wear some that fit my colours, and at other points I change my makeup to get away with those that aren't perfect. Also they can murder me before I hand over my black (the trick to that is getting the dye base right - I do best with redder/warmer blacks than cold blue or green).

The white moto jacket reads a bit older to me, just kind of out of sync with your vibe. The white denim jacket is a younger style and the camel moto jacket is a little...idk, edgier? The white moto is very polished but your vibe is more fun and creative. Also, I found the Kibbe body types and essences to be helpful in figuring out why certain clothes just look wrong on me. Also helps with decision fatigue when shopping bc I can automatically rule a bunch of things out.

I remember my first step was analysing my colours, but then once I narrowed that down, I couldn't understand why certain styles didn't work even though they were my colours. Her videos totally cleared that up for me, she's very academic and reflective about it. It might be helpful! :)

Yes I agree! It helped me understand why certain styles, outfits or pieces of clothing don’t “feel like me” and others do. It’s because of the unique inner essence that we all have and the way that it shines when it harmonizes with your style choices.

I'd like to get my colours done, but it's a far off thing. In my country people are mostly cool toned, my skin tone is warm. I'm likely some type of autumn, most people here are probably summers😅 I have been slowly swapping my black jackets to browns or colours for something like 8 years. Black makes me look sickly yellow. When I had only black coats, I made sure to always wear a scarf😉 And scarves are still useful as many of the coloured jackets have ended up being the wrong shade🤦‍♀️ The bright shop lights really highlight my yellowness so judging how a shade suits me is difficult. A colour looking awful on me doesn't mean I hate the colour. I love my clear blue and green rugs but the same shade in a shirt...🤢nothanks

I did a few online color analysis quizzes. They almost all say I'm a warm autumn. What do I do with it? Continue to buy and wear bright hued clothes, even when muted hues match my pallette better, because I love bright hues. 😅

I have always been against colour analysises... I don't want to have a voice in the back of my mind that says if I can or cannot wear a colour... I want to wear any colour that I want to wear when I want to and I think that a colour analysis would be in my brain way to much

I think the ivory jacket was too pale for you. The brown jacket looks really good. Watching this video has helped to confirm that I’m not warm. I couldn’t handle the colours that you can, if there was ever a doubt 😄

1) i would call that first shirt with the perforations a "dark teal" and i think it fits well into your palette! maybe not what comes to mind immediately when you think "spring" but it's bright and, in essence, a very warm blue, so 2) the floral blouse probably is more autumnal than springy if we're being super technical about it, but it seems to work well in your wardrobe! 3) i like the purple t-shirt on it's own, but when you pair it with the jeans and denim skirt, something in my brain goes "??". i think it might be that they're both fairly muted tones, more autumnal vibes? a mismatch in energy. now I'm wondering if denim can even be "bright" without being obviously dyed. i think a light blue (almost pastel, but more vibrant) wash might work well for you next time you're in the market for denim 🤔 4) i think that lilac jumper is indeed probably more summer than spring, but it looks great on you so who cares 😁 5) omg i never even realized that that checkered jumpsuit had orange and pink in it! 😮 i just assumed it was red and white all throughout... KZbin compression really does that one no favors 😂 6) the yellow thick jumpsuit with the bright stripey top underneath is possibly my favorite outfit I've seen you in, ever. so fun!! 🤩 so flattering!! 7) the pink/salmony vest top was too washed out for you, i agree that it should've been brighter, although warmth/coolness-wise the color seems like it might work for you 8) re: the ivory jacket, to me it just seems too big for you? it's a bit hard to tell in the video, but it looks like it has a drop shoulder effect which might not be intentional? (if anyone's curious about technicalities, in a traditional fit the seam where your sleeve goes into the arm hole is supposed to hit right where your shoulder becomes your arm, straight above the armpit, where you can feel the end of a bone if you did a little. there's other shoulder cuts, of course, like baseball tee or kimono, but generally speaking that's where the line is supposed to be, and if it veers inward or outward by more than, idk, a centimeter maybe, you immediately have an effect where "something's not quite right but i can't tell exactly what". the dropped shoulder cut, of course, does this intentionally, but there's a blurry area between "correct traditional fit" and "definitely dropped shoulder" where you can't quite tell which one it's supposed to be and whether it succeeds in that goal, which seems to be what's happening here, although again i can't see the details very well). i also think that jacket is too long for you and too straight? you like cropped things and showing off your waist, and this one just seems to drown you, a little bit. color-wise i think it was fine, but you also do have to keep in mind that light colors take up more space visually than dark colors, so even if you had that exact too-big jacket in another color, it might seem less obviously big because white just takes up extra space to begin with 9) the brown one, on the other hand, seems a bit shorter and more fitted - not by much, but enough to alter the proportions, which is why details like that are so important. i also can't tell whether the sleeves are shorter or not, but either way on the white one they seem too long, on the brown one they're just "oh this is a sleeve". potentially this might occur if the sleeve itself is a bit tighter/more fitted? but again, it might just be that the white takes up more space. 10) love that white denim jacket on you, for some reason in my memory it was more cropped than it actually is, but i guess that's because it just works for you, for some unquantifiable reason. i think also maybe pure white *does* work for you in the spring lake because you have such a bright personality+wardrobe and pure white is literally the brightest thing there is? 🤔 and finally, a tip for when you go shopping with that physical palette in hand: there are millions of colors in every palette and you can't print them all, so instead of trying to find an exact match to see if something belongs in your palette, put it alongside a few complimentary/contrasting colors (e.g for orange you might do yellow, red, and sky blue). do the combinations look good together? then you're good to go. if they don't, check against some other colors (a match that's too close is gonna clash either way, as will a wrong angle on the color wheel), and if they still don't, then that tone is not in your palette. personally, ever since i discovered i was a cool summer, on whom deep blues and violets looked *incredible* (literally colors I'd never even tried on before) it's made me a lot more discerning about tones and given me a vocabulary for why something feels off that i didn't have before. of course at the moment I've reverted to wearing mostly black, because that's what i already have a lot of and it's easy to find, but in terms of the colors i do buy, i think it's a really great tool for evaluating any given item's compatibility with me! (one of many tools, of course) I've also started noticing when strangers around town are wearing "their colors", and it just gives you a little zing, a momentary feeling of "ah, all is right with the world😌". experiencing that same thing when i put on one of *my* best colors has audio considerably boosted my general confidence. 👍 by the way, I'd also be curious to see which subtype of spring you are, which can also explain why some colors in the spring palette work better for someone than others

I feel you when it comes to finding the right clothes for breastfeeding. There is a huge lack of that on the market. 10 years ago, I decided to leave the seasonal color analysis as it turned out to be too generic, flawed, and outdated (and racist) - and not based on science. Growing up with an Astrophysicist dad and an artist mom in Asia I had a different view of colors. So I started to develop my own analysis method which I am using now for clients. It is based on physics, quantum physics, and Asian principles of harmony and healing since I am interested in more than just looking radiant. I want to manifest, attract the right things and people, and heal - all with the right colors because they influence your energy levels on a quantum physics level. At the same time, the wrong colors cause misalignment, block the energy flow of Qi in the body and cause disease long-term. I am posting case studies on my channel if you are curious.

the cream jacket vs the brown one - its the shape of the cream jacket to much things going at the top and its too long and it wash you out. as for the brown is shorter, more contrast with your skin and it dont ''add'' weight on your body/shape.

i'm still really curious about what would be your expanded color analysis palette. i'd like to know if you are a light, warm or bright spring. I would bet warm, since autumnal shades fit you very well too, but what do I know hahaha

I'm pretty sure she's a warm spring. She looks best in the colours which are spring/autumn crossovers, the mustardy yellows and oranges. Colours being warm is much more important for her than colours being clear. She looks really good in colours that are warm and slightly muted. Those suit her much better than colours which are clear and slightly cool, which would suit a bright spring well.

Mission why cream jacket doesn't work accepted! I think it's too straight. Your waist isn't accentuated at all in it. It looks a bit rectangular on, especially when closed. The brown jacket even though also pretty loose fit actually is somewhat fitted around the waist. Could that be it?

I think having a toddler, and big boobs makes white or off-white clothing, especially outer layers---just less appealing, if you spill *anything* it will show up, and it's also a lighter color which draws attention. Personally, that would make me not want to wear it, even though I think I'd look nice in cream colors, it just has too many drawbacks.
