My wife took this recipe and tweaked it a bit....mash/chop bananas and place in medium size pot, add the brown sugar, butter, 1 tsp of vanilla and 1/2 tsp of maple extract, 1/2 tsp nutmeg and 1 1/2 tsp of cinnamon. Slow warm over low heat until just warm enough on finger. Set to side for 15 minutes or until cool. Once cooled add sour cream and eggs then lightly hand whip together and slowly incorporate dry ingredients and just mix enough for no flour to show. Then she baked it. Made my eyes roll in the back of my head. I swear I have never had anything better. It is so decadent and packed with flavor.

This is the easiest banana bread recipe ever!! Coming from someone who bakes absolutely nothing, this turned out soooo good!! I used 100g Brown Sugar instead, and added a handful of chocolate chips. Made this, had a slightly bigger pan so the whole batter was used for one pan instead of 2 like his. Baked as instructed, and came out perfect in an hour! Not as dark brown but a beautiful golden brown which is what I prefer so it was good. Omitted the raisins (I eat them but not when it’s mixed in any food) then added malt milk powder (horlicks) to it and more chopped walnuts on top. Still cooling so I’ll be tasting it tomorrow. 😊 Thank you chef! All your recipes and tips are 대박! Learning Hangul so hopefully I can learn to read your recipe book too or attend a class. Update: tasted fantastic! I always had one or two fails on other recipes I’ve tried, but this is amazing! Paired it with Chef’s vanilla latte as well! 🤯🤯🤯 Now if only I’ve made the nutella, then it would have been the perfect combo!

After watching your previous video's about dissolving the sugar when mixing the batter, I did mix until the sugar dissolved when I made Banana bread last week and it turned out MUCH better than my usual Banana bread, Much better cake texture. I have never used oil but will give it a try. I would NEVER strain the liquor, just mix it in and add a bit more flour so the batter is not too runny, the boozier the better, LOL

I like how you explain why you use both grapeseed oil and butter. This is something very detailed that many other videos wouldn't tell you. Can you also explain why you are using baking soda instead of baking powder? why do some of the recipes include both baking soda and baking powder? Thank you so much.
@HanbitCho3 жыл бұрын
great! it's just usual to use baking soda - old school method! some use baking powder but i don't think it's necessary
@WingsQ3 жыл бұрын
If you allow me ... I think the reason why both types of powders are used is because the dough needs more help to "rise" ... especially when the composition lacks egg protein. There are some sweet dishes that use ammonia quenched with lemon juice.

I have no grape seed oil,what can i replace
@andriiklochkovskyi68503 жыл бұрын
@@ceciliamendoza7091 I would say olive oil, but as it was said in the video, everything is optional. In case you want a deeper flavor - use more butter. Or in case you want the dish to be light - use more oil. You can also use just one of these. I completely agree with the author at this point, as he chose an optimal balance. What about using only one of these ingredients: butter for a nice complete dish(like a cake), oil - a great take-and-run with a cup of coffee. 🤗
@WingsQ3 жыл бұрын
@@ceciliamendoza7091 You can also put a neutral oil that does not have a strong smell, for example sunflower oil. I don't think olive oil is appropriate because it has that bitter taste and specific smell. The aroma of this olive oil is not suitable for this recipe.

Am always on the lookout for a good banana bread recipe. Have tried adding sour cream and/or plain yogurt before but not the mix of butter and oil. I also like to reserve some of the walnuts and crumble them onto the top of the batter before baking. The roasted nuts at the top give a nice crunch to the top and contrast a bit with the nuts inside the bread itself.

I've made banana cakes using airfryer. For Philips 4.2 L size i usually set temp at 140o C for 30 mins then reduce to 130oC for 15 mins until the rod isn't wet. Reason reducing temp is that the airfryer has the fan + the batter is really close to the heat source, causing super hot to the cake

I was planning to make my usual banana bread tomorrow but I think I will give this a try. The recipe is almost the same as what I usually do except for the grapeseed oil and sour cream instead of yogurt. I love a good banana bread for breakfast. I'm skipping the glaze, nuts, raisins for less calories. Can you please make a pie video? Like apple pie or mango/strawberry/blueberry pie with a delicious crust? :D

go for it! yeah i'll do pies later.

@@HanbitCho Thanks. I made it. I think your recipe with sour cream would definitely taste better with nuts and other toppings (which I unfortunately skipped), while the yogurt version is better for plain banana bread. I want to try mango pudding next, I just need to find passion fruit first.
