Best Beginner Motorcycle? Yamaha R3 (YZF-R3)

I got a new bike! As I said in my last video, I sold my custom 2004 Yamaha Virago 250. Someone gave me what I asked for it. So I used that money and bought this 2019 Yamaha R3 for a great deal! I love this bike so much. It's crazy fun and lived up the hype.
I tried to do a motovlog on it. So please bare with me until I can sort out all the sound issues with doing this. -Stealth

Do you still have your R3 ? Fellow Canadian here with 52 years of riding....Just wanted to tell you that your issues are due to a lack of confidence ! The brakes are OK , they're just not instant grab like some others....You need a strong squeeze on the lever and you'll brake as fast as any other bike ! Yes, I have a '22 R3...And you're keeping your revs way too low ! If you want the full potential of this bike you need to rev it between 8000 and 12000 to get the max horsepower ! I understand that around town when you follow the traffic at 50-60 kmh you have no choice but don't go 50 in 5th or 6th gear either ! Because if you need a fast burst of acceleration to clear a danger you won't have it !!! You can't drive a sporty parallel twin like you drive a Virago 250...V-twins have torque at low revs, it's a completely different game....I hope my hints will help you !

Congrats on the new pickup. I just installed fresh tires on the CBR250 and am considering listing it up for sale since I'm seeing other 250 examples selling for a lot higher than I expected. I've done my time with the little Honda but I think its time to move to something with a smoother powerband.

I am looking to get 19+ R3 instead my current 20 MT03 - not having a windscreen sucks. Its was not an issue with my previous XV250 :P Be careful with metal sintered brake pads - they will eat your brake rotor in no time - ask me how I know it :P

yo, congrats from my side for getting a R3, it looks really nice and I can't wait to get my hands on one :D only because it got me thinking about the Kilometer stand of the bike: 2:13 if you only have the bike and you have a bit of distance to your work (like 50-150km ) then I don't see why 16.9k km should be much for a 3 year old bike. example: in 3 years with only a R3 I could get up to 10.8k km ONLY driving to school and home from school. and If I were to go on holidays or 1-3 day trips then I can easily get up to 15-20k km, depending on where I go and how many times I go.

and adding to it: I live in austria, so having a bike is really nice in the country regions, because you have curves, etc. where you can let the bike rip :D
