My a6000 is my first real camera. Holy Moly it was scary. My son wants me to get into real estate photography but when you are used to snapping a photo with your cell phone, lemme tell you there is a learning curve! I purchased a 70-210 zoom that I’m not crazy about, a 35 mm 1.4 that I LOVE, and a wide angle 11-24 for RE if I ever get there. this camera has been a real treat to use AFTER i finally figured it out and took a photography course. So now that I get the “triangle” and some other basics, I’m looking at videos showing me more. Yours are easy understand, clear, not too chatty, and hey it looks like. You give stuff away now and then. Cool! Thanks for being there teaching me. :)

AWESOME VIDEO! Some video Ideas I would love to see. 1.) Low Light Photography Help 2.) How to customize the buttons on your a6000 to you. Sometimes I think they are too confusing and I think there's a way to customize the buttons to work for me 3.) I'm confused about the different series of lenses for the camera. G, E...all different letters. How do they work with the camera and how do they differ???

I hear good things on the Nikon Z, so I'd consider it. Take a look at the lens family of that camera though, I'm unsure how much Nikon has been backing that camera. The Sony a6400 has tons of lenses to choose from when thinking about photography long term. The 6400 also has more potential for video, if that's something you're considering later on.

So one f the best things about the Sony camera line and the 2nd charger you showed is that they can be charged via USB so if you go on long trips in which reliable electrical sources are less common one of the many "power banks" is a must. I was on a safari trip in South Africa and over the course of a couple days we didn't always stay in places which had electricity (or the transportation didn't allow for it) and between two extra batteries and a power bank I was easily able to have enough power for when it was needed.

How do you sync the sound with the mic you used? Also, I am starting a channel and I didn't realize the a6000 didn't have a way to connect to an external mic. So thanks for the tip!
@kyletaggart6 жыл бұрын
To sync the sound you can clap 3 times once you begin recording on the camera and mic, when you bring in the audio on your timeline you’ll see the 3 spikes from the claps at the beginning rather clearly. You then match the external mic timeline to the normal timeline wave lengths. I use final cut x, so my next step is detaching the audio of the camera video, then I delete that audio. Then I make a compound clip with the external audio and the camera video. It sounds like a lot but it takes literally 1-2 minutes. I may make a video on it!
@dyaniroberts69246 жыл бұрын
hikyletaggart yes I’d love a video on that, thanks again!

Check out the adapters for old lenses. For example the Canon FD to nex adapter by k&f concepts. I bought a couple of old canon FD lenses and I love shooting with them.
@kyletaggart6 жыл бұрын
Is there auto focus with them when using the adapter?
@nauolin6 жыл бұрын
For the FD, it's only manual focus, and not stabilized. By the way, the camera has peak focus assistance that helps to get manually in focus (and a zoom magnifier tool that could be assigned to any button). There are amazing fast lens for a bargain. As longer the lens, the harder to get sharp photos. I have a 135mm f/2.8 a 50mm f/1.8 and a 28mm f/2.8.

Hi, I liked your videos. I have a Sony A6000 with kit lens only. I wanted a zoom lens, so it seems that Sony 55-210 lens would be a good option. But I can also purchase a Nikon D3300 with two lenses, AF-P DX Nikkor 18-55mm VR lens and AF-P DX Nikkor 70-300mm ED VR lens at just twice the price of Sony 55-210 lens. (The lens costs 16,000 INR and Nikon DSLR costs 30,000 INR). I can either buy Sony 55-210 or et a new Nikon DSLR with above two lens at just twice the price. My primary objective is shooting videos both at home and travel and I not much interested in still photography as I have a KZbin channel. I already have a Huma tripod, a Sony Bluetooth external mic, extra Sony A6000 battery, Sony A6000 battery charger and a Sony voice recorder. Which option would you suggest? Is Nikon D3300 good for videos all to be shot on external locations or do I purchase Sony lens?
@kyletaggart6 жыл бұрын
The auto focus on the a6000 is incredible. Continuous auto focus is amazing for video. Also the 55-210 and 16-50 kit combo (if available) in your country may be a great deal. It’s like $750 her in the US for that.

The Sony ECMW1M bluetooth mic system would be another interesting accessory for the A6000! The receiving end attaches to the multi-interface hotshoe and mic-end of this kit has an additional mic-input for, lets say, a lav mic! So there´s actually a real wireless audio solution for the A6000.

I have an A6000 rig. Without an audio input choices are limited but not impossible. Here's a couple of ideas: 1- www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00HWGZSZM/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o08_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 2- www.amazon.com/gp/product/B016C4ZG74/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 In the second one you can plug it into your smart phone and use a sound recording app. I like the first one a lot (wireless) and I plug the lavaliere mic into it (optionally). Either way it works good. Gives you total control over audio once you load it into your editing app. I use Filmora.

George Lenz that would suck for vlogging wouldn't it?

Definitely! I feel like it’s intimidating for KZbinrs but it’s super easy to do and it makes the videos that much more pleasing!

Follow up video with new accessories?

Like your vids. I think you keep it real and not so tense. The content is relevant and current. Subscribing now. I was looking at the A6300 with it's 4K capabilities, but unless you are viewing on a 4K device, what's the point?
@Wriotheslay5 жыл бұрын
When it comes to 4K video if it's been downscaled to 1080p it has a sharper look. So it could be worth shooting in 4K for that reason alone.
@kyletaggart5 жыл бұрын
Crop ability. It’s a bigger resolution and you can crop in and still have great quality. However yes, most people - most phones, etc, are 1080p. If a video is published in 4K and you have a 1080p display it will be downscaled when viewed.

Do you use a camera strap and do you have a preferred one?
@kyletaggart6 жыл бұрын
I prefer no strap! My gf uses the one it cane with.
@brianchi736 жыл бұрын
Most of the time I do no strap but today I was out for hours at the Chicago Air Show. I dug around and finally found the one it came with. :-) I think I'm going to check out the hand straps though.

what about filters or hand straps or maybe one of these apps they the Sony store has for a 6000????
@kyletaggart6 жыл бұрын
Filters? You mean like lens filters? No experience with them unfortunately. I haven’t used any apps except the remote shutter and also the play memories!
@Yente014 жыл бұрын
@ Ubaldo Alfaro / Kyle Taggart: I’ve made several hand straps myself. Check Internet / KZbin and search for “Camera Strap Paracord”. It is easy to make and it looks good!

I am fast charging my a6000 with BlitzWolf BW-S6 charger (I also use it to charge my iPhone), coupled with 3ft Anker micro-USB cable. Charger has Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 chip, so it charges the whole battery in one hour, while providing protection. It takes 5 hours for the full charge with the kit charger. Also, Anker power banks are great for charging on the go (they too allow fast charging) I hope someone finds this helpful :)

The manfrotto pixi did me well with the RX100 and seems to be okay with the A series but it’s a little front heavy so you gotta be careful plus it helps get away from that Casey look, lol. I had picked up the H1 zoom with the intent on improving my audio on the RX100, but syncing audio for vlogs proved to be very tedious. Having a mic port is awesome now with the 6500. I have the rode micro which I’m using with it which I hope works out okay. I like that the micro version doesn’t require a battery or need an on/off switch. Plus I can still pair it with the H1 Zoom if I want to drown out the background ambient noise.
@kyletaggart6 жыл бұрын
I wish the a6000 had a mic port! Haha. Yeah having that rode just turn on and off with the camera is magic! So awesome. As for syncing audio, it’s definitely a pain for vlogs with multiple clips. My videos are one, maybe two, long clips so syncing is easier.

hi, Kyle, what about the tuplip lense hood? you always have one on your cameras, but NEVER discuss where and why you got them :)
@kyletaggart5 жыл бұрын
It came with the Sony 35mm f1.8. And the reason for lens hood is to shield the sun from the lens at circle angles and it also protects it if you drop the camera.

thank you @@kyletaggart Kyle, my sony came without any such gadgets, and now i am stumbled upon what size 40.5 mm lense hood i have to get...

Can you connect a6000 to mobile phone and control it while filming? Is it possible to see what are you filming on phone's screen?
@kyletaggart6 жыл бұрын
The a6000 can’t. However the a6300 and 6500 can with a third party app. You can use the a6000 and a phone for photos but not video.
