You do a great job--but you are too wordy. You say in 50 words what could and should be said in 5. That's why you talk too fast trying to get all those words into a limited time frame. Learn to economize on your words, it will make your wonderful reviews even better.

Hi, does this backpack create abrasion to your t shirt ? I’m just get my Goruck Bullet Ruck 15L recently, and I love the comfort of that pack. But the only drawback I have with that bag is that it will damage your t shirt. I have just wear it once with a quite heavy load and my t shirt get pilling already. Since that bag use the same 1000d cordura as this bag, I'm wondering if this bag will damage your clothes too?

Thank you for watching and good question! I haven't noticed any issues with my shirts yet, but it is a very similar material so if you use this bag with a lot of weight I think eventually you would run into a similar issue. Hope that helps a bit and please let me know if there are any additional questions I can help answer about the bag =)

Just bought this bag after watching your excellent review. Was considering the Goruck GR1 but this looks like a better bag at less than half the cost of the GR1. Even got a 10% discount coupon while checking out :)

Another great review. I have been a big GoRuck fan for a long time, but $295 for a GR1 as a daily carry is a little much. I am definitely in the market for something similar but at a better price and I think I may have found it. I will let you know what I think if I pick this one up. Thanks again!!

Thank you for watching and for the positive feedback! I definitely agree about the GR1's price and in the past I had always looked for something that was comparable but had never found this one so i was pretty excited to be able to share it! I'm sorry to hear they were out of stock, I saw on instagram earlier today that they should be restocking this weekend so I would definitely keep a close eye on their website =) Really liking alot of the other stuff they're coming out with so I will have to see which items i can feature on the channel in the future!

I just got mine delivered today. I have not had time to look very closely at it, but my initial first impression is that it will be more than fine for an daily carry and it should fit my needs very well, but if you think you are buying a GoRuck, you will be disappointed. I will reserve any other comments until after I actually use the bag for a few days. I am very excited to get this bag!

I'm glad to hear you got your bag! I definitely agree it doesn't feel quite as rugged as a Goruck, but for a regular daily carry it has held up pretty well and its definitely nice to be able to save a little money haha I hope you enjoy using the bag and look forward to hearing your thought after you have had a chance to give it a thorough test! =)

I have to start off by saying that I am a HUGE GoRuck Fan.. I love all their stuff and what they stand for and will continue to support them whenever I can. But this bag for EDC blows it away!! It felt broke in from the very first day. Every inch of it is quality and I have to say that I was quite surprised how much the Hi Vis Orange lining helps. The straps are very comfortable and it felt like one of those bags that you had for years and that you loved. If I was going to war, than the GR1 would be the pick, but I am not and this bag has all the toughness and durability that you will ever need. I can see this bag lasting many years. The comfort from the first day was astounding.I wore it for a few hours and I hardly knew it was there. The top inside mess pocket was perfect for quick access and I had my MacBook in the laptop sleeve and my Ipad in the front vertical zippered pocket and hardly moved and felt very stable. I think that if you are coming from a GoRuck than you might be a little surprised at how "Broken in" it felt right out of the box. It scared me a little until I used it.. The 22L is the perfect size for EDC or a weekend get-a-way!! Even though the similarities are obvious, if you can judge this bag solely on its own merits and NOT compare it to the GR1.. I think that 99.999% of the people will be more than happy with this bag. I can't wait to buy more of their products!

Thats great to hear you've been enjoying the bag! I totally agree on how nice and broken in the bag felt right off the bat! its been so comfortable to wear and the size has been perfect! Im also a big fan of Goruck and will probably continue to swap out between this and my Gr1 but like you said for most people this bag will be great! =)

HI there. I know this review is from a while ago but I just got mine and there is at least 2" of padding missing from the top of the strap so all it is is fabric sitting on my shoulder. Is that normal? An error? Very confused. Hoping for your wisdom.

Thank you for watching! I’m not sure if the design may have changed since I bought mine but that seems like it might have been a mistake? Mine has a little fabric near the top but not as much so it might be worth checking with the company

Thanks for great review. Does it really weight only 1.1 lbs as stated in specs? I mean was really surprised when saw these figures in comparison to GR1 which is the same size and materials, but weights 2.9 lbs.
@dannypacks
@dannypacks 5 жыл бұрын
Thank you for watching and for the positive feedback! and yes it does feel really light when empty, especially compared to the GR1. Even though the Recycled firefighter feels very well built one thing i will mention is that it doesn't have the same padding on the back paneling / laptop pocket and the bottom which might account for some of the difference in the weight. Hope that helps a bit and please let me know if there are any additional questions I can help answer about the bags =)

Good job on this review. Was close to ordering this one but the black was out of stock and I wasn't a big fan of the other colors on offer. Ended up with the 5.11 Rapid Quad Zip Pack (black/grey color) based on your review and whilst I've only had it for a few days now I'm also 'a little bit in love with that bag'. How do you think the Firefighter bag compares?
@collinhayle

Matt Reed I have the 24 hour and 12 hour, 24 hour is better for travel it is very roomy. I think it’s better quality than the quad zip pack. Recycled Firefighter just came out with the 12 plus in 24 liters as well. I’ve had the 5.11 and returned it, hope that helps.

Which has the best protection for a laptop? Battalion 24 or CPL 24. Thanks!
@dannypacks
@dannypacks 6 жыл бұрын
Thank you for watching and thats a good question! They both do a pretty good job, however the CPL has a rigid frame sheet which adds a nice amount of stability and protection that the Battalion bag doesn't have, but i also feel like the Battalion has a slight edge on the bottom padding (unfortunately neither of them has a false bottom or anything like that which would have been the best). Hope that helps a bit and please let me know if there are any additional questions I can help answer about the bags =)

Great video. Did you feel like your stuff was sliding to the bottom of the pack, even your laptop? That compartment looks big and lacking padding, especially against the back (but I can't tell from the video). The material on the front compartment also looks thin. Is it? And the three pockets inside the front compartment, do you feel like they hold items in or stuff just slides out? They introduced a velcro, rigid loop panel. Do you think a panel is needed for support?
@dannypacks
@dannypacks 4 жыл бұрын
Thank you for watching and good questions! In the main compartment it did feel like my smaller items could slide to the bottom as it’s a pretty big compartment and it doesn’t have a whole lot of organization. My laptop fit in the compartment well but as you mentioned the bag as a whole is not super rigid. The material on the front feels thinner then something like the material on the Goruck but it still feels super durable and I haven’t had any issues with mine so far. As for the pockets on the front zippered area, the version of the bag I bought didn’t have those unfortunately so I don’t k is if the items would slip out to easily. I did see they sell the rigid panel for it now and i don’t think it’s super necessary as the bag still feels really comfortable as it is, but if you were carrying a lot of weight or if you just wanted some additional support I could see how that would be helpful. Hope that helps a bit and please let me know if there are any additional questions I can help answer about the bag!:)

Think this is the closest to the perfect bag I'll ever get. Thanks to my horrible planning I cannot get it in time for my upcoming trip. But I'll keep my eyes out for it if there's some black friday special or something. I only wish the handle on the top would be more flush to the bag. Have had my eyes on Goruck for a long time, but with shipping and customs it's just not worth the price as I'm in the EU.

To carry a water bottle on the bag.. I purchased the tactical hanging bottle buckle clip on eBay, and attached it to the shoulder strap so the water bottle is easily accessible by your chest. I like it. It's attached to the plastic loop on the shoulder strap. Just looped it through and snapped it shut and put on my water bottle.

Nice review. I owned the recycled firefighter 12 hr and returned it after a week, now I own the cpl 24 and much more satisfied. Unlike the cpl, the recycled firefighter does not use a double layer foam to cover the interior of the compartments, and there's no frame around the and a paper sheet on the back. Makes the recycledfirefighter much less durable. For me the sholeder strap of the recycledfirefighter was ridiculously wide - not comfortable at all to my opinion. Also, the use of a Ykk no 10 zippers for interior small compartment is a weird choise. You can argue wich of the two makes a better deal, but you can't say that the quality is about the same. Not even close..
@dannypacks
@dannypacks 6 жыл бұрын
Thank you for watching and for the positive feedback! Its always great to hear different peoples experiences with bags and I'm glad you've been enjoying the CPL24! I thought that was a good bag as well, but a little overpriced and I guess straps are a pretty subjective item and I really didn't like the ones on the Evergoods that much. I thought they were pretty thin but Im probably biased as I usually prefer a wider strap so in that area the Recycled Firefighter definitely appealed to me haha The no 10 zippers on the inside did seem a little excessive but I was happy at how well they work and the larger size doesn't really get in the way for how I typically use the bag. Thats a good point on the frame and on the double layer foam, but I have also been really impressed with how sturdy the Recycled firefighter bag has felt for the time that I have been using it whereas the CPL felt solid, but not as durable as I would expect for a bag that price. Most people seem to really like the CPL24 however and I think both bags are definitely good and Im curious to see how both bags look after a year or more of consistent use to see if there is a big difference in how they are holding up =)

Thank you for watching! I haven't had it long enough to talk about its long term durability, but so far the quality has been great! it feels like its going to hold up well and its super comfortable to use! The bag uses 1000D Cordura. Denier or 'D' is used as the unit for the thickness of nylon. Conventional backpacks use between 210D and 630D fabric. Not only does this pack use 1000D 'thick' fabric, but the fabric is Cordura known for its durability. Cordura has a YT channel that details their product for more info.

How would this fare as a gym bag (clothes, toiletry kit and shoes). I'm debating between the 22L or the 12L, though just from pictures I can't gauge that well if the 12L will carry all I need. Any thoughts?
@dannypacks
@dannypacks 6 жыл бұрын
Thank you for watching! I haven't had a chance to try out the 12L so i can't say for sure, but typically at least for me a bag of that size would be a little small for what I would like to carry with me so I would prefer the 22L. However, if you are a very minimal packer, and you have a small toiltry bag and depending on the type of gym shoes you use you may be able to squeeze enough for a day at the gym into the 12L. Hope that helps a bit and please let me know if there are any additional questions I can help answer =)

I'm in the same boat, though I wanna use the bag for university and weekend trips. At the moment, the 24hr pack is more appealing because it's 19" tall, 11.5" wide and 5.5" deep whereas the 12hr pack is 17" tall, 9" wide and 4.5" deep. For me, the extra few inches here and there that the 24hr pack has doesn't make it look too bulky yet I get almost double the amount of space inside. Which is great because, if I get the 12hr pack, I'm afraid that I'll be wishing that I had an extra inch of space so I can better cram in a sweater or something. Basically, I would rather have a bag that is a little too big than a bag that isn't quite big enough.
@dannypacks
@dannypacks 6 жыл бұрын
Thats a good point i typically prefer to hvae it be a little bit bigger just to be on the safe side. One thing to note is that I think they just released a larger version of the 12 hour pack that has the same width and height but it seems to have more depth so that may be another good alternative =)

I have a 12 hour pack and use it on the weekends mainly. I like to take a bit of stuff to work so i've found that 22 or 25 liter is perfect for me. I'm looking to get the 24 hour pack as soon as they get more color selections. If you are trying to choose, i'd go with the larger and not be cramped for space.

This pack, GR1 and Timbuk2 division, which one do you think is the most comfortable for carrying heavy loads?
@dannypacks
@dannypacks 6 жыл бұрын
Thank you for watching and thats a tough question! haha I think out of the box, this might be the most comfortable, but after breaking in the GR1 might be better as it has a little more padding on the back and it also has a rigid frame sheet that helps distribute the weight a little bit more, but they would both be pretty good. The Division pack is really comfortable as well, but the straps aren't quite as wide and it seems to me like it is designed more to be a minimal daily carry as opposed to somethign like the GR1 which is built to hold heavy ruck plates. Hope that helps a bit and please let me know if there are any additinal questions I can help answer =)

I have the GR1, bullet ruck, and Recycled firefighter. Straps and comfort on the Recycled Firefighter is far above the GR1 IMO for travel and daily carry. GR1 takes forever to break in and not as comfortable right out of the box, alot stiffer. Recycled Firefighter's are also lighter before packing.
