Tip: If you wet your garlic crusher before using it, it will be a lot easier to clean after. Also use the backside of the knife to scrape off the garlic so you don't dull the blade.

Been doin' this with bagels for decades. In the frying pan toasting with garlic butter. It's the BEST way to toast a bagel. The only reason to do it in the oven is if you're adding cheese (and you can do the cheese in the FP too if it's non-stick). Thanks for making me hungry :)

I tried this, I found that if you place the buttered side on the sheet pan (vs what shown here), it came out nicer , it has some brown edges. It may be my oven works that way but that's how I liked it.
