On my Auto Glym, the cap keeps coming off when I attache it to my Karcher K7. Any ideas as to why? I cannot see any visible damage to the thread in the cap/neck tried everything to no avail!

I got a new wide bottle type lance a couple of months ago as I bought a new jet wash. Came with two jets and cost just under £16 from Ali Express delivered. Works perfectly and is well made. I’ve never paid more than £25 for a lance and have never had any issues since my first one in 2006. I just don’t see why people pay £50 or more for a snow foam lance. Running clean water through when you’re finished is the key for long life - take the detergent bottle off and spray through while still connected to jet wash. Knowing how to change the gauze is useful too. I learnt that on this channel a few years back!

well, thanks for video. I am at a loss though. understand autoglym doesn't have the adjustment but in all other video u don't adjust. also, autoglym seemed objectively, to give thickest foam based on same product.. what do u think??

The metal filter does not go in there mate, its already inside the lance, you have put the spare one supplied in that position

My lance is on it's last legs so it was nice to see a comparison between similarly priced options. Pity the Autoglym came out 3rd as it's currently on offer at Halfords UK and it was the one I was going to opt for. I still might as I'm sure it will suit my needs, but thanks for the reviews anyway 👍👍👍.

@@SpeckyMcSporran When the Autoglym (or any 1/4" QR lance for that matter) is connected in to the stubby lance then their weight acts as a kind of anchor and allows the bottle to rotate to stay in a vertical position, but if the lance has a OEM fitting such as a karcher or Nilfisk then the weighted pickup comes in to its own for sure.

The fact the gauze is so easily accessed is a bit of a game changer imo. Will start to see that in other lances going forward I think

In fairness they did ask which connector and I opted for the Nilfisk type. If they supplied it quick release to Nilfisk like the AutoGlym that would be ideal.

Actually new to this channel and thought the video is reasonably good. The thing that’s confused me is why you would use an awful snow foam for the video. I have used both the auto glym and mjj and they give off brilliant foam with clings to the car and works attacking the dirt. The product hasn’t done the lances any justice here. Just something to think about.
@TranquilityBaseDetailing3 жыл бұрын
What makes you think it's an awful foam? Bilt Hamber Autofoam is considered by many to be the best of the best in terms of cleaning ability and it's one of the least foamy options on the market.
@Michael-wx4fj3 жыл бұрын
Elizabeth, the foam isn't awful as you have suggested, it just isn't an overly "foamy" foam (don't get me wrong it is not the best imo either), but what the test did show is that all the lances produced a foam of relative consistency, albeit with an ever so slightly less creamy foam from the MJJC, so we can take that information and make the assumption that had we used a thicker foam then all of the tested lances would have produced a similar thickness. Can I ask which of the two lances you have used, the Autoglym and MJJC lance, did you find to be a better all-round lance?
@elizabethlane35383 жыл бұрын
@@TranquilityBaseDetailing your video shows clearly shows unbranded snow foam bootle unless you are just using the bottle. Regardless of the brand my PERSONAL opinion was just the fact that the lances I have used, which are both. Do produce a much more thicker foam. The reason I find a thicker and clingier foam better is because I genuinely find the dirt is taken off with a lot more ease. I have used snow foams for many years so have some experience with them.

@@Michael-wx4fj hi. I honestly didn’t rate the auto glym. Mjjc was ok and did a better job. Personally I now use carbon collective lance.
@TranquilityBaseDetailing3 жыл бұрын
@@elizabethlane3538 the foam in the video is from Go Detailing. We made a point of showing that. My point was simply that thick foam doesn't make a good foam that's all. If you enjoy a thicker foam then fair play to you but it's not relevant from a cleaning point of view and as such we didn't feel the need to make a shaving foam video.

Good reviews, however you didn't show the effects of the + and - ratios using the black knob on the top of the cannons....makes all the difference that. My 4 year old Autobrite Direct cannon just won't die, and as Chris mentions below, running clean water through a cannon after use prolongs life and stops blockages. I'm running a Kranzle K10 122 TS and use Carbon Collective Satsuma foam, insane stuff and a combo that really works for me. Great video though, and a like from me!
