literally *every* PS2 game (maybe ps1, but definitely ps2) has a built-in function where if you dont let go of the stick and just keep at whatever tilt it was at when the camera changed, you just keep running forward regardless of if you're actually tilting in the right direction. like, you're holding up, and then the camera shifts to where forward is now to your left. if you just keep holding up and dont let go of the stick, you keep running forward regardless of the angle shift. it's not a perfect solution and DMC's camera angles are bad, but there is a workaround.

I'm honestly with Pat in regards to Royal Guard. It's cool when you pull it off but I personally just find more enjoyment in wailing on enemies. If the. Parry were more forgiving I'd probably be more inclined to use it

I agree, I've only used it for certain boss attacks like Credo's spear throw, Echidna's charge, or Berial's sword swings. Any other time I find the style awkward to use tbh

I love that Dante is so smug in 4 and style switching is fantastic if not overbearing at first. My only 2 complaints for him in 4 is that he feels out of place (enemies take much more stun than they should) and dodge rolling doesn't feel as responsive as it did in 3.

I recommend when fighting Blitz's as Dante: Charged Shotgun is able to take out his first phase quicker. However, if you use Lucifer and use the Swordmaster style to summon and send off waves of projectiles, you can speed up the process. Switch to Gilgamesh, and perform a royal dragon uppercut. Right before the second hit, hit the DT to maximise damage.

I noticed while playing on DMD that Dante's charged shotgun might be the most useful move he has. The DPS it does at close range is pretty great, and the knockback utility it has is amazing against certain enemies. The tricky chimera infected enemies get their whip things disabled temporarily by the shotgun

@@trentnomads194 Jump cancel charged shotgun is one of Dante's highest DPS moves. It shreds Blitz shields pretty fast and takes down bosses very effectively.

Might not be the most efficient but is certainly the most fun way of dealing with the blitz is Royalguarding each attack you make so you guard against the static discharge damage. I'm thinking about sending a clip I did for the reddit to woolies twitter so he can piss himself in joy.

Pro tip: while dealing with enemies with Chimera seeds you can use gunfire to temporarily break the seed and pause the swords from coming out, leaving them open to combos. You'll know when you hear a glass break sound effect and the Chimera in their body turns black. Coyote-A is especially effective against infected assaults because one close range shot knocks them on their asses.

You know I used to hate Blitz, but then I realized how cool he can actually be. Blitz is blind. So he doesn't necessarily attack you. He attacks anything that makes noise. In that way, you can convince him to fight other enemies while you go for far away enemies. His lightning can also be turned off by Pandora's Omen attack. It's beautiful.

What's even CAAHRAAYZier then that is that almost every charge weapon in the game has that mechanic, you can do perfect judgement cuts with Vergil to make them as responsive and quick as slashes with no end lag. That's why so many high level players look like they're playing on 4 times speed, they do just timing on each hit so they have virtually no end lag

Guys, you know you can reach the ranking C in that secret mission as both Nero and Dante without needing anything special right? The style meter increases even if you roll out of the way just before an attack hits, and then use Taunts to increase the meter. For Dante is WAAAAAAAAAAY easier because Trickster dodges raise the meter too! On top of that Royal Guarding that Pat was trying did show that it was working without needing just guards. But they gave up on that pretty quickly though sadly. Also Woolie the liar. Why didn't he just ask Pat what guide he was using!? Or why did Pat not just give him the guide when he took the controller...

A good cheese for the secret mission at the end is to lure the Frost over to the corner near the door that leads outside (towards where you first meet Biancos). Keep the camera locked in the corner so the scarecrows will stay off, and the Frost will teleport in after a sec. At that close range, it'll pretty much exclusively do the leap attack, so you just do a normal jump dodge the ice over and over to raise style. With regards to Blitz, with Dante it's easiest to throw in a few DRIs once their electricity is down to put them in red. On normal, it might kill on its own. On higher difficulties, spamming DTed pin up with Lucifer while it is turning red usually takes it out if you did your DRIs well. Also, on DMD, that kamikaze attack is an instant kill if you can't escape it. It does a fully upgraded health bar of damage. One last thing about Blitz: an easy way to bring down its shield with Dante is to use Omen (gunslinger Pandora special). Even without meter, it immediately takes his electricity down. The problem is having the time to do it, but the second Blitz in this video is a good one for it, since it is often preoccupied with the scarecrows. Distorted straights with Gilgamesh also work but can be risky. Speaking of straights, all the chargeable Gilgamesh moves have just frame releases to get more damage. If you release the charge right as the weapon lights up to indicate it's reached a higher charge level, you get a bit more bang for your buck.

Blitz intro was one of my favorites just because it shit all over my friend. I was playing and he was watching. ANd after seeing the cutscene, I'm sitting there like "Man that was cool." That secret mission near the end can be cheesed so much by Nero after he gets Credo’s shield. I was never good enough to dodge or royal block perfectly :(

Would anyone agree with me that Blitz might be less annoying if instead of just turning its electricity back on, hurting you and lowering your style, it teleported away from you and that is when it has its electricity back, so you can just go back to shooting it without interrupting your flow?

Secret mission 3 can actually be done pretty easily with Dante's Trickster. Just dash, enemy step on one or two enemies, dash away, taunt, and repeat the process. It's a lot easier than doing it with Royal Guard (that really depends on how good you are with it of course) or with Nero's Table Hopper.
