Were is some good areas on the bay side to wade or kayak fishing for trout or flounder
@daveporter46672 жыл бұрын
Thank you for sharing. If you go with a boat/kayak inside the gulf in clean water what is the main fish species you can get? Fishing from a kayak as long you know your limits is the best. Try it. Cheers from Canada.

Where about in East Texas? I live in Gladewater. I fish in Galveston as often as I can. There’s a small jetty at the ferry landing on bolivar that is pretty jam up. You should check it out. We’ve caught trout and reds on live mullet, pin fish and on silver spoons.

Great video and thanks for sharing. I wanted to know if you could give me some advice. I’m coming to Galveston for the first time on vacation during thanksgiving week. Can you recommend a spot or location that might be productive around that time from shore. I’m from Michigan so fishing in salt water from shore seams a little pointless but I’m going to give it a try. Thanks in advance!!

November is a great time for flounder fishing in the Galveston area. The flounder run will be in full swing! Use Gulp curly tails in white and chartreuse on a 1/4th ounce jighead. Just slowly drag them across the bottom. Seawolf park is a hot spot for flounder but I have to warn you, it will be shoulder to shoulder! Same with all other shore fishing spots though. Thanks for watching and hope this helps!
@michaelgriffin11794 жыл бұрын
Before Outdoors wow ok I will try and get out early. I’ve never caught a flounder before and it would be good bragging rights once I get back home. I’m going to check out more of your videos and I will like and share to help build you channel. Thank you so much for the information and I’ll let you know if I get one!!!!

Glad to see ya'll make this video: shows you know it's NOT just the MAJOR KNOWN SPOTS that you can find fish on, but the thousands of points of structure that can attract baitfish. Pretty much anywhere there is some sort of STRUCTURE will hold fish. Those different structures (drains, points, ledges, potholes, oyster bars, coral reefs, dock pillings, rock piles, jetties, rip-rap on levies, oil rigs, shipwrecks, etc.) will usually all hold, or at least concentrate, the baitfish (smaller fish, mullet ,croaker, crabs, shrimp. etc.) hiding from from their predators, like Specs, Reds, and Flounder. Find structure, WITH CURRENT, and you will usually find the PREDITORS HUNTING THEIR PRAY.

Exactly! And I honestly don't even like saying "spots". of course I have places I frequent and certain locations I go to, which would be considered "spots". But, I fish them based off of time of year, weather, tide movement, and of course the most important part, what the bottom is made of. As long as you understand why fish are in certain areas, like why they are holding over mud bottom, hard sand, etc, then all you have to do to find fish is find an area that is similar! and there are hundreds all over the bay!

Thanks! I trying to learn the Galveston area. Just getting back into fishing after spending years with college. No waders at the moment but hopefully soon. Until then I'm looking at places good to go since it takes 3.5 hours to get to Texas city

@@BeforeOutdoors so besides a bathing suit and possibly shoes of some kind, do you recommend any belts or other tethered items to take along? Hopefully I'll be able to make it out in a few weeks

Michael McCray When We go wading we bring a Wading belt, Wading shoes, Stringer, Net, and Hook removers! The rest is just lures and stuff like that, so those are a few things that I recommend
